Nursery Rhyme Translation Project
ganbatte and 10 others reacted to Chifuyu-chan for a topic
Hi! It's still alive but there are hardly any progress at the moment. Experienced some hard crashes when we were doing the beta testing that we weren't able to resolve. But I am looking into it, probably a problem with the repacker. I appreciate people are still waiting for this. Tbh, I lost any remaining motivation doing this, so yeah it may take more time. Sorry to disappoint mates.11 points -
First of all, sorry for the lack of updates since April, but it's all good because the patch is just about ready for release. At long last, the full patch will be released on Friday, June 13 at 22:00 UTC. Considering all the delays the project has had over the last year and a half, it's somehow fitting that it would end up getting released on Friday the 13th...not that I'm superstitious or anything, but it's still very funny. An absolutely insane amount of work by nReus went into this, including almost all of the image edits, subtitling and rendering of the videos, and even editing an animation sequence the game uses for the right-click menu to make it look as professional as possible, not to mention drawing up the Studio Frisay website, where you can see all of our projects to date. So I know you'll appreciate all the extra work that went into the project beyond the translation. As previously mentioned, the patch will work for either the original disc version released in 2010 or the version purchased from DMM; only the patch files will be different, as specified in the patch upon release. Any troubleshooting will be offered through the patch's readme, as well as on the website, and on the Discord. We've tested the patch on Windows 10 and 11, so any fixes are provided based on those systems. Sorry for the late reply to this, but I was planning on writing up something like this anyway, so this works out just as fine. First, why I picked it. I was trying to find a game that used the Kirikiri engine at the time since I wanted to try working with that engine for the first time, since it's pretty popular and knowing its ins and outs would be useful for any later projects that use that engine. But as to why Waremete specifically, I had watched the anime adaptation years ago, and I had wanted to read the game for a long time since, but just never got around to it. So it was a title that was kind of in the back of my mind, and I had wanted to revisit it to see if working on a patch for the game would be worth it, or even possible. Early work on the game's engine was a massive headache in terms of trial and error, since although the game uses Kirikiri, the developers had some really unconventional choices when they were using the engine, so I had to work through that, in addition to my own inexperience with the engine at the time. But once that was done and I started translating the beginning of the script, it wasn't soon after that I fully committed to the translation and to see it through to its end. My main impression of the game is that it was a good first (and ultimately only) title for Trumple to produce back in 2010. Remember that this was 15 years ago, and even back then, there were plenty of other bigger studios producing longer and more fleshed out visual novels that they had to compete with. So is this a AAA game? No, but it never really needed to be. I find the story interesting and engaging, the characters are endearing and I quickly became attached to their personalities and idiosyncrasies, and to a large degree I feel like the main appeal of the game are the characters themselves. I did enjoy the story. I wouldn't have worked on the game if I hadn't. But the characters really make this what it is in the end, in my opinion. Nagisa was my favorite character, but Airi is the true star of the story. No character in the game is more complex than her, and I feel the story shows that Saitou Kenji really took his time to develop her character. And it should come as no surprise that he also wrote Nagisa's route. Some of my favorite scenes were in Nagisa's and Airi's routes. The main thing I disliked about the game was that it felt kind of underdeveloped in places. All the routes seem kind of short, and the game itself is "only" 35,000 lines long, so pretty short as far as visual novels go. I do wish there had been more romantic scenes between Sou and each heroine, and in general just more interaction between the characters. The game's structure is also a little unusual since it doesn't have a separate common route, so maybe it could have been better had they done something like that instead. If nothing else, it would have provided more of those character interactions I already mentioned, if not also further developing the overall mystery of the story before getting into the heroine routes, but it's a relatively minor grievance I have with the game. There also aren't all that many supporting characters, and the few that exist are almost entirely underdeveloped except for one, and even that is not very much. Other than that, no real glaring disappointment. Stylistically, the art in the game is very nice, and the animated sprites are a really nice touch that adds to the game's overall esthetic, and makes interacting with the characters all the more enjoyable. The music is also very well done and I never found any of the tracks annoying to listen to over and over again. In the end, the game was a joy to work on and experience, and I hope others enjoy it as much as I did, if not more, once the patch is released next week.7 points

The main thing is that the script is 100% done. Unfortunately, some real world things have taken some time away from the project, but progress on the user interface is still ongoing. There were some additional unforeseen issues with it that made it more complex and time consuming than we would have originally hoped. A lot of the coding and rendering in this game was kind of unusual, in addition to some issues with running the game on modern systems (specifically the most recent version of Windows 11). Hopefully, we can get this all done and release the full patch in May.7 points

Finally at long-last, the script is now fully edited! Thank you to everyone who has been looking forward to seeing this patch get completed, which looks to be very close on the horizon now. For the time being, editing of the game's UI, in-game images and video editing led by nReus is still ongoing, but will hopefully be concluded soon (as in, before the end of February). Then the QC process will start where I play through the whole game and test the patch for bugs, along with any fixes to the script I may have missed during the editing process (which usually amounts to 2-3% of the script getting altered, if the last two projects are any indication). And as coincidence would have it, the game is currently 50% off on DMM until March 10, so please consider buying the game if you can and haven't already. The patch will still work with whatever version you have available though, only the encryption for the patch will be different (which will be as easy as copy/pasting the correct files in the patch, which will be specified on release). So I'll be back on the next update.7 points

I won't lie. Burn out is a very really thing, and I believe is the main reason why most VN fan translation patches never see the light of day. But that's something that should almost entirely encompass the translation itself, since (from having already worked on two previous projects) that's the most tedious process, especially if the script is very long. But since I edit my own translations, I am constantly editing as I translate, which makes that process take even longer, in addition to what I'm doing now which is editing the entire script for consistency, typo/grammar fixes, checking translation accuracy, etc. I've been doing stuff like this for a long, long time (even before Studio Frisay was a thing), so I would say I'm used to it, but that doesn't make it any less of a thing I have to put a lot of dedication into. I do it as a hobby, but I still want to put out the best product possible. Sometimes, time off from a project is necessary to finally complete it. And I can say this, once the translation was completed last year, there was no way I wasn't going to see this patch to completion eventually. On a lighter note, everything surrounding Trumple seems to be cursed in general, seeing as how the studio only produced this one game almost 15 years ago. But I'm glad that the game still lives on currently, and will pretty soon live on in English, too.6 points

First of all, sorry for the lack of updates since October. I had to pause the project for a bit, but it is still very much alive and I have been making steady progress on it recently, even finishing the editing for Airi's arc and I'm about a third of the way through Nagisa's arc currently, with 51% of the script edited. I will be aiming to complete the editing process before the end of next month, and then the QC process will begin. So at this point in time, I believe a release of the full patch by sometime in March is very doable and is a goal I plan on achieving, especially considering the extended break over the last few months. I'll be aiming to make some more frequent updates as I complete the editing for each arc in the coming weeks.6 points

[Studio Frisay] Ushinawareta Mirai o Motomete Translation Project [Released]
masster_auron and 5 others reacted to Tooko for a topic
It took almost 2 weeks longer than I had originally hoped, but now the translation is finally complete after nearly 7 months of working on it. Granted, I had taken a more leisurely approach to the translation this time compared to when I did Imaimo and H2O, but I feel I still managed to get it done in a reasonable amount of time. Suffice it to say, I'm relieved the biggest and most tedious portion of the patch process is now done so I can now move on to editing the game's images, of which almost all that require editing are for the UI, so not that bad really in comparison to the previous two projects. It always feels wonderful when the UI gets done because it feels like an official localization, which is generally what I'm striving for each time I've worked on these projects to make playing the game as seamless and enjoyable as possible. Anyway, in the meantime while I'm working on the images, I'd also like to point out that the game is currently 50% off on DMM for the next two days, and if possible, please consider buying the game. So, I'll be back for another update either this or next month.6 points -
The English patch for Ushinawareta Mirai o Motomete is out! Download via either Google drive or Mediafire. There really isn't much else to say beyond what I said in my previous post last week, but I appreciate all the support for not only this project, but also the previous projects, which thankfully have all seen completion, even if this one took longer than I had originally anticipated when I picked it up a year and a half ago. But as a long-time fan of visual novels, it's always nice to give something back to the community. So please enjoy the game released on the luckiest day of the year, Friday the 13th!5 points
-
Just a quick update since I haven't done one in a month. The QC of the script is currently at 63% with Kaori's and Airi's routes already complete, and Nagisa's route nearly done, too. The QC should be done by the very end of March, so we're currently aiming to release the full patch sometime in early April. There's still a lot of testing that needs to be done, but it shouldn't be too long now.5 points
-
I'm now done with editing the first Yui arc at 89% complete with the whole script, and less than 4,000 lines left to check in the final arc, which shouldn't take that long hopefully. Finishing up the editing of the images will then be the next priority so a beta patch can be compiled and tested.5 points

Shuffle! Essence+ Translation Project [0.0.3]
masster_auron and 4 others reacted to unclebane for a topic
Title: Shuffle! Essence+ Release date: 2004-01-30 Game/Creator: Navel Description: Ten years ago, the gateway to the Realm of the Gods and the Realm of the Demons was opened. Soon afterwards, the gods and the demons began migrating to our world. Now there are places where gods, demons and humans all study together, such as the school, Verbena Academy. Rin, a normal high school guy who is the envy of guys because he lives with and be pampered by the sweet, beautiful Kaede. It’s just a day like any other when two new transfer students show up in class: Sia, Princess of the Gods and Nerine, Princess of the Demons. Now Rin’s luck is about to change, for he has been chosen to take one of their hands in marriage. Whether down the hall, next door or from another realm, girls seem to be everywhere. Progress: At the time of writing this I just finished making a new engine to run this new translation running on Unity rather than me try to hack my way into a proprietary engine that seems only a few games used, the time wasted on hack my way through it could be spend in actually getting the project done faster. Mangagamer already translated the original Shuffle release and Yumehaven translated the PS2 release of it called "On The Stage" that added the Kareha and Mayumi's route into the game and which they released on Steam as a SFW version of it, their license ran out this 2021 and the game has been delisted ever since. Using those 2 release as basis for what is already translated what is left would be the new girls/routes included in the Essence release (Tsubomi , Sakura, Matsuri, Nadeshiko, Daisy) Who's working on this at the moment? Everything is being done by me at the moment, at the moment I am writing I'm migrating the already translated version into this new version I don't know what else to write at the moment here so I will just drop my discord link in case you want to help out in like anything or just follow the updates of this project: https://discord.unclebane.xyz/5 points -

[Studio Frisay] Ushinawareta Mirai o Motomete Translation Project [Released]
kushidadousaku and 3 others reacted to Tooko for a topic
Ushinawareta Mirai o Motomete (In Search of the Lost Future) Release Download the patch (Google drive, Mediafire) (ver. 1.00, dated June 13, 2025) Description The school festival at Uchihama Academy is almost here, and with it, tensions at the school are at an all-time high. Not only because of scheduling disputes, but also due to rumors of mysterious incidents that have occurred lately on and off campus. Plus, this will be the last festival held at the old school building before moving to one newly being constructed. Akiyama Sou is a member of the notorious astronomy club, which has been tasked by the student council to both resolve these disputes, and also to calm any fears that have cropped up from those rumors. One evening after an incident involving the judo club, Sou is recuperating in the infirmary when the building shakes and he hears a loud sound from one of the upper floors. Concerned, he investigates the fifth floor only to discover an unconscious naked girl who upon awakening seems to know him, later introducing herself as Furukawa Yui. The next day, she seeks out the astronomy club, expressing her desire to join. VNDB link: https://vndb.org/v4880 Where to purchase The game can be purchased legally from DMM (https://dlsoft.dmm.co.jp/detail/tin_0002/), but a Japanese proxy/VPN may be necessary to purchase it. In addition, there's an extra layer of DRM which requires the installation of the DMM Game Player software which then allows you to download and install the game. A Japanese VPN is necessary to use DMM Game Player, both to download the game once purchased, and also to launch the game, although once launched the VPN can be turned off. This is the copy I have obtained, but the patch will work with both the DMM version and the original disc version released in 2010, although the only difference will be in their encryption and the addition of one extra file to get the disc version to work on modern systems. Project The English localization project is being conducted by Studio Frisay as its third project following Imasugu Onii-chan ni Imouto datte Iitai! in 2022 and H2O √ after and another Complete Story Edition in 2023. As before, I (Tooko) will be doing all of the translating and editing of the script, and working on the game engine. Also as before, nReus has agreed to help with the rendering of the game's videos and also most of the image editing (you can largely thank him for the design of the logo above). Studio Frisay website Studio Frisay discord server Progress Programming: The game uses the Kirikiri engine, one of the most popular and versatile engines around. I've already taken care of the preliminary engine hacks necessary to construct the patch after a lot of trial and error, and also received some help to streamline the patch creation process once the project is complete. Translation: The translation took place between January 19 and August 10, 2024, and I had already translated about 25% of the script by the time I announced the project in March. The game has 35,416 lines across 180 scenario files split up between the five heroine routes: Kaori: 8519 / 8519: 100% Airi: 7368 / 7368: 100% Nagisa: 7356 / 7356: 100% Yui 1: 8334 / 8334: 100% Yui 2: 3839 / 3839: 100% Total: 35416 / 35416: 100% Relatively uncommon for this type of game, it doesn't have a separate common route and instead incorporates elements similar to a common route into the beginning of each route. There is also a set order the routes must be completed, which is the same order they're listed above. A full walkthrough will be provided with the patch to view all CGs and endings. Images and videos: Of the 150 or so images that require editing in the game, almost all of them (134) are part of the UI, so it probably shouldn't take that long to finish them up. As for the videos, there are 4: 2 for the OP and 2 for the ED that will require typesetting for the lyrics and a few lines of other text. The images and videos are being edited by nReus. Editing: Editing the script began on August 13, 2024 and concluded on February 12, 2025. Image and video editing continued until their completion in early June 2025. QC: The quality check phase occurred over about a month involving a normal playthrough to check for any problems with the patch files and their rendering. The patch is scheduled for release on Friday, June 13, 22:00 UTC. Progress link on Google Sheets4 points -

And now with the editing of Nagisa's arc complete, the script is about 66% of the way done with about 12K lines left to go. Dat Boi Translations Presents Natsu no Ame —Summer Rain— This is the official page for the Natsu no Ame translation project. https://vndb.org/v1898 Introduction Natsu no Ame is a drama visual novel with themes such as: Family, drama, miscommunication, really cute girls. What makes Natsu no Ame special to me is that the way it depicts drama is much more grounded than the average visual novel. It also has Midori. Midori is very cute. This project started on the 10th of June 2025. I'm the only member of the team, but I've gotten some outside help to get the engine and some of the assets working properly. At the current pace, it should take me about 3-5 months to finish. Progress 20% translated as of 27th June 2025 Screenshots3 points

Warring States † Love Princess X ~ Gorgeous Maidens ☆ Illustrated Scrolls of Warring States ~ Hello guys. I started a big project of translating Sengoku † Koihime X. After checking up I found only one work of translation for it as subtitles on YouTube. As a big fan I would like to expand the fanbase for this game into English community too. I'm gonna work "live" time by posting an update english patch 2-3 times a month. You can find it after disclaimers bellow. I know that this is a big game, but I'm tired of waiting. If someone would like to help, by all means (especially testers and editors). Team working on project right now: Eokati vercere (Main Editor) Story Translation: UI Translation: Decensor: *Green means it's included in the latest patch. Blue means it's also included, but not tested. Disclaimers: Patch: Patch v29.0 + Decensor Installation: There are two files: Update01 is UI translation patch, and Update02 - Story translation patch. Update03 - decensor. All you need to do is to drop either one of them (or both) in the game folder. Changelog: Screenshoots: Support: Ko-fi3 points -
A few big pieces of news since last time: 1. I moved away from git because it's a bit silly organizing things that way when I'm more or less the only one working on the project. 2. I passed JLPT N1! 3. The script is almost fully translated!!! This does NOT mean the patch is close to complete, just that none of the text in the main script is still in Japanese barring some lines in Keika route. There also hasn't been much of a serious pass at TLC, QC, or editing yet. I personally think that HMFan's work would take enough work to edit that I'd rather just retranslate it myself, and I may do that for Keika's route as well (though I haven't read the existing translation in full yet.) Part of this is personal/selfish, since translating this game has been a goal of mine since long before I began working on this project, for almost 10 years in fact, so I'd really like to end up with a product I'm satisfied with. I plan to keep working on it in my spare time until I get to that point. Anyway, here is the drive link with my current progress, and with the patch included. I also included a README in the folder with more information on my current plans and progress. https://drive.google.com/drive/u/3/folders/1dQcuQYHebWpZEt_zY8chXpiEhlYz8W-N I'd also like to say that I would GREATLY appreciate help with TLC and editing help from people who know enough Japanese to read the game confidently, since it's extremely difficult to critique my own translation. If you don't know Japanese, feedback and critique regarding my English writing style is also very appreciated. Thank you and enjoy!3 points

The Visual Novel Database ; VNDB.org is a misinformation website
masster_auron and 2 others reacted to Clephas for a topic
Sorry but I didn't find your highly politically influenced argument convincing at all. I suggest you take a step back and recognize that your views are excessively emotional on the matter. To be blunt, please don't bring America's perverse and dogmatic tribal politics onto the forum. You have the right to feel the way you do, but please refrain from trying to 'convince' everyone that yours is the only possible logical argument. Regardless of what 'views' Yorhel and the others might have (which I don't care about one way or the other), vndb serves its purpose of making people aware of new VNs when they come out and retaining basic information on VNs in general. I don't demand anything more of it, and I honestly don't care if they fiddle with tags for random reasons. It's their website and their efforts to maintain it are what have kept it alive for so long. Without vndb, finding visual novels would be much, much harder and more haphazard, like with anime and manga (which have way too many half-assed database sites with horrible structure that makes it hard to find anything). 'Rival' sites don't last long for a simple reason... those sites never manage to be convenient and relatively easy to search even if you don't know an individual visual novel's name. Edit: I should also note that vndb is not primarily or even secondarily a social media site. Ultimately, it is a database where one can (with a sense of moderation and responsibility) post information and reviews for VNs. Treating it like the poisonous swamps that are Reddit, Facebook, and X does no one any good. The social element has its issues, but the bare bones nature of the social features shows how little interest there is in that aspect in the first place. While it is technically a community, it is a community whose focus is on a niche medium of entertainment, not a place for people to rave about political viewpoints.3 points -

All right, it didn't look like @tenshi25 was gonna be updating this thread with my progress so I've decided to do so myself. Keep in mind, this is the Pure x Connect HD edition + honorific version that I'm working on. Without further ado... Both Sora and Ayumi routes have been tl'd and play-test edited by myself. Still needs a proofread by the team and I wanna muck around with some of the sfx + font size (big text/small text lines) engine calls at some point. Next up, I will be undertaking the Shiho route, I'll post again once this is complete.3 points -

Kara no Shoujo Licensed by Mangagamer Summary "I want you to look for something ---- Me. My true self." The year is 1956; a series of bizarre murders rocks the city of Tokyo. Tokisaka Reiji, an ex-cop turned private eye, joins the investigation at the behest of his friend Uozumi Kyozo, a detective in the MPD. At the same time, he takes on a missing persons' case at a private all-girls high school, as well as a mysterious request from a girl named Toko to find her true self. As Reiji frantically struggles to crack the case, he learns that the murders bear an uncanny resemblance to a case in which his own fiancé was murdered six years ago. But try as he might, the body count just keeps rising... Ending Guideline / Suggested Route Order Kara no Shoujo is a linear story for the most part; there are no in-depth character specific routes (mainly just H-scenes and endings for them instead). I read my first « quasi VN » in 2012 or 2013, can’t remember precisely. It was 999 on DS. I liked it a lot and tried to find something similar. Threads (on Reddit probably) oriented me toward truer VN, and the first I read were Fate Stay Night and Clannad, At this point, likely the first half of 2013, I began to come to Fuwanovel : it began of course with the torrents, but I quickly read a lot of threads on the forum, followed the status of VN translations and, most of all, followed every Clephas’s VN of the month as long as it lasted. Torrents disappeared shortly after on Fuwa. It took me years to register as I was content enough with just lurking around and reading you all. IIRC, I registered just to thank Clephas for his work on VN of the month at the time. Somewhere in 2014, I learned to read Jap, frustrated to not be able to read titles like Akatsuki no Goei (the first I read in Jap) and many others. Fast forward to 2025 : I’ve barely read any VN in years. But… I feel so nostalgic of this era. Even only a few seconds of many great VN soundtracks can bring so much memories and feelings. As said previously, I began to know VN after the often alleged ‘golden era’ of JP VN. I came to know Fuwa just before it's creator, Aaeru, vanished and torrents were abolished. It could be said I missed the best era for VN. And yet, I feel even nostalgia for this period I never knew. I feel it through the story you told along the years, through the old threads I read on Fuwa at the time, through things like this https://forum.agoraroad.com/index.php?threads/a-story-from-my-hometown-on-the-net-aaeru-the-piracy-advocate-who-vanished.3906/. And of course, through the many VN I read that came from the 2000-201x era. This nostalgia probably comes from me becoming older, but I’m quite sure it comes from knowing that those era, the golden age of JP VN and the time I came to know VNs, is something that will never occur again. Ah well, I just wanted to share with you all. I don’t expect anything special, but feel free to share your thoughts too. A lot of the ones that ought to be thanked do not seem to be around anymore but there's still some : thanks for this community. Kindly.2 points

I tried answering until I realize I am unable to answer some question, either because I am not sure about the meaning of the question either because I am not familiar with the wording, either because I am unsure about the nuance with the question previously asked, I think you should either give a small description or a few examples to help people when such questions arise2 points

Hi, I'm not sure if it will work on what you're trying to work on, but I found a tool for "DDsystem" which is apparently the same family of engines through my deep and enduring connections (I searched the eroge translations discord). “A story about cat girls … with bite.” Nekos are not “people with cat ears.” These humanoid beings have evolved in the shadows of human society. Beautiful. Mysterious. Chaotic. Dangerous. And now, three of them live with you. Will you be able to get past the stigma and grow closer to them? A story of cat and mouse… and rats. More info / Presskit: https://omoneko.com/ Download on itchio: https://talechaser.itch.io/omoneko Download on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3465450/OmOneko/ (coming soon) It's been a long development process, but we're finally done. Pure x Connect Translation [Common route patch released]
NookGaming and one other reacted to cooliosbombinos for a topic
Ah, oops... I've just seen your reply now @cloture You're right, it has been a while, unfortunately my motivation on the project has dropped quite drastically over the past few months. The good news is I only have about 80 voiced lines of Shiho's last h-scene and the last chapter to translate (so roughly 480 lines). This honestly should only take about a day of locking in and just doing it but... ahaha... After that, I'd have to play-test edit the 2nd half of Shiho's route which shouldn't take too long (like an hr or 2) but I'd probs leave it for another day. Please bear with me a bit longer, thank you for your message, it's given me a little bit of a push to do some work on it tonight. Finally, it's up to the team to quality check my work, I actually haven't heard word from them since I sent the last 2 route translations though so well... fingers crossed?2 points -

I haven't read it before, and to be honest I'm not ready to try it out. But I really want to thank you for that review. You described it with a spontaneous and a generous way, you described the impact this work have done to you, and that how a review should be in my opinion. Thanks again for writing this.2 points -

Girls Frontline Porting to Visual Novel project
masster_auron and one other reacted to fos1x for a topic
The day has come, I have decieded to port GFL to Visual novel form (Renpy) This is the place to keep track of the project! - Introduction: Girls' Frontline (少女前线) is a mobile strategy role-playing game for ANDROID EMULATOR ON PC developed by China-based studio MICA Team, where players control echelons of android characters, known in-universe as T-Dolls, each carrying a distinctive real-world zoom banger. - The game was released in Mainland China on 20 May 2016 in Hong Kong and Taiwan on 18 January 2017, and in South Korea on 30 June 2017. - And The global English version was released on 8 May 2018, while the Japanese version was released on 1 August 2018 under the title Dolls Frontline (ドールズフロントライン) due to the Girls' Frontline trademark in Japan already being held by another registrant. - Also Girls' Frontline is a prequel of another game developed by MICA Team, Codename: Bakery Girl, released in 2013 - The Game is set in a War-torn future where tactical dolls, more commonly known as T-Dolls, are almost exclusively used for combat in place of humans, some having been repurposed from their previous life as civilian androids. The majority of the world is uninhabitable due to contamination from the Collapse Fluid, and much of humankind is dead. In 2062, the artificial intelligence of Sangvis Ferri (SF) spontaneously rebels against humanity, with their T-Dolls and robots killing their human masters and taking over nearby areas. In response, the private military company (PMC) Griffin & Kryuger (G&K) is hired to contain and eliminate Sangvis Ferri forces; the player assumes the role of a recently promoted G&K Commander The base storyline focuses on the adventures of this commander and the Anti-Rain (AR) Team consisting of M4a1, STAR-15, m4 SOP(O)mod ii, M16a1, and RO (635). Other important characters include the commander's logistics officer, Kalina, AK-12, AN-94, AK-15, RPK-16 and Angelia of Squad DEFY and Squad 404, made up of UMP45, UMP9, 416, and Gr G11. - Enough copy and paste from the Wiki, I have been playing this game since August 2019 and being a daily login commander since, I'm very impressed how the writing and the world of this game set in, so I want to bring this to a bigger screen... (most GFL player already play this game on their pc) and no, only the visual novel part! - The game currently have ~40 main chapter and ton of side story, not counting ~9 Collab story, and tons of Individual character event/story, each can last from 10 minutes to 3 hours! - Goal: my goal is to preserve the game In an offline Visual Novel form, while keeping the "vibe" of the in game visual novel as close as possible including sprite Animation, sound and VFX - Off course, this can't be done perfectly while I have some personal editorial bias toward the visual novel "quality of life" aspect, but don't worry, I will try to keep the script 100% to the original. - The other goal is to create a general archive of GFL, including but not Limited to Sprite/CG/Music/Character info. - And finally, here's the progress of this project and stuff to do that will be constantly updated: Script Porting Progression : chapter 10_5 singularity UI Progression: not so basic UI Navigation MUSIC PLAYER: NA GALLERY: NA CHAPTER UI: Goal is to emulate in game story UI (except for Longitudinal Strain) Skill level in making this happen: Worse than Yandev NOT GET DMCA FROM THE MAN HIMSELF : MERRY CHRISTMAS GAME IS OUT IN BETA! You're missing the point. Those rules pre-date your posts on vndb, thus you are the one at fault. Unlike X, where there are hidden rules (basically anything Elon Musk doesn't like gets pushed down, and anyone who opposes him directly loses their verification), the rules are clearly stated. You made the choice to ignore them so you could 'make a point'. There was no conspiracy against you, nor was there a mysterious hidden agenda that you were exposing. You simply don't like certain viewpoints and decided to go out of your way to make a mess.2 points -

Has been a "slow" month for me. Since finishing the Leyline trilogy, I read Shinigami no Kiss, Summer Pockets, Seven Days, Kon's Lessons, reread Noble Works, and read Hatsuyuki Sakura. Out of those I'd really only blindly recommend the Leyline Trilogy to pretty much anyone. Summer Pockets was the best read though, but nakige aren't everyone's thing. Seven Days was surprisingly good for what it is but was very uneven, which was frustrating. Noble Works is standard Yuzu, but not supernatural which is nice. Hatsuyuki Sakura was good, but I feel like it's overrated. It has some pacing issues as well as I felt some overuse of macguffins and in general plot threads / questions that go unanswered. Its music is pretty amazing though, so it still got a 7/10 (good). Now I've moved onto Comyu.2 points -
People still post, it is just that it is more likely to be people asking about technical issues than anything else. I don't like to sit on Discord, because it is too hard to keep track of conversations, and I prefer to just skim static posts rather than deal actual real time conversations. For visits, we still get plenty, because people utilize all the old posts for technical help on VN issues all the time. A lot of the other sites that had that information are long gone, so a lot of VN-readers treat us like some kind of archive for troubleshooting. We do still get people asking for recs, but more and more it is stuff I can't get involved in, since I really only played untranslated VNs after the first six months or so. Incidentally, the amount of bots is probably about ten times what you think. I prune at least ten for every one you report, because most just put their adlinks in their profiles rather than posting threads nowadays. Edit: also the ghost bots that post meaningless and seemingly harmless posts that the bot goes back and edits a month or more later to add a link to. The key for those is that they tend to use real people names for their handles... so newbies, please don't use your real name or something that might be a real name for your handle, because it is automatically suspicious here, lol.2 points

You can use the offzip tool made by aluigi to extract the DAT: https://www.aluigi.altervista.org/mytoolz/offzip.zip And the packzip one to repack the edited files: https://www.aluigi.altervista.org/mytoolz/packzip.zip To use offzip: offzip -a -z -15 -Q "where_your_package_dat_is" "folder_where_you_want_to_extract_the_files" Example: offzip -a -z -15 -Q "C:\Users\your_user\Downloads\Trick or Alice\package.dat" "C:\Users\your_user\Downloads\Trick or Alice\output files" Edit the files (you can open them with Notepad++) and save the changes. To repack: packzip -w -15 -o "offset of the file you edited" "file_you_edited" "package_file_you_want_to_want_to_modify" Example: packzip -w -15 -o 0x00139db4 "C:\Users\your_user\Downloads\Trick or Alice\output files\00139db4.__a" "C:\Users\your_user\Downloads\Trick or Alice\package.dat" The offset of each file is the name of the file itself (with "0x" in front of it). I haven't tried modifying a lot of files so I don't really know how the repack of a whole folder would work but I guess it's easy. Let me know if it works2 points -

I forgot to report, that I finished Daitoshokan no Hitsujikai (console version - including spinoff and FD) around a week ago Overally it was very enjoyable read. With 40 endings and 90k lines it took some time, but I almost never felt bored - this VN created nice environment, where it was just enjoyable to spend time with the characters. Yeah, after finishing whole game I stand by that opinion I also still find the amount of event CGs not enough - but that's a minor gripe. As for "True routes", I think the naming might be a bit misleading. There is just one true route, and main heroine of that route is Nagi - but it also has optional branches for other girls. However, I'd treat that as an extra, since those endings aren't as fleshed out as the "normal" routes for the girls. I'd also like to mention the console-exclusive route for new character - Kingyo. It was great, among the best routes in the whole game That's the second (or even third) time I encountered that phenomenon - the other one being Wakaba's route from Tenshin Ranman, (and perhaps also Chihiro from Kono Aozora ni Yakusoku o). FanDisc provides very nice supplement for each heroine. And spinoff Houkago Shippo Days is just a nice short mini-VN in the same setting. Nothing great, but I liked it nevertheless. ********************************************************** And currently I'm reading perhaps the most random VN so far - You & I. It's the last title by JAST/Tiare (best known for Sakura no Kisetsu, Meisou Toshi etc). It's also their first VN that ditched the command-based adventure game system, and went with Ikura GDL engine (Crescendo, Kazoku Keikaku, Yukizakura etc). This title got released in June 1999, so it's as old as Kanon. But the writing is more in-line with Sakura no Kisetsu So far it seems to be very generic old-school charage, but for some weird reason I'm enjoying it2 points -

90% of the patches (from 2005-2018) were done entirely through manual translation with mtl only being used for individual words. This was because it was only recently that some MTL apps/sites/etc could actually translate a complete sentence from Japanese to English coherently. Even now, they can't handle proverbs, colloquialisms, and slang/local dialects, so they are only used for 'rough' first-day patches, mostly on indie VNs. Edit: The reason I feel a need to mention this is because these people put a ton of work into something that didn't get them anything but prestige and has mostly been forgotten in the years since. This is literally hundreds or even thousands of hours of work in some cases, done in people's free time. While some of these fan patches were later purchased by localization companies and retooled for localization, there are still a number of games where my statement still applies.2 points
