I've seen them both XD I really loved Cabin in the Woods, probably one of my fave movies. A must-see for any horror fan. I haven't seen Session 9 or The Poughkeepsie Tapes so I'll check those out, thanks. And I LOVE slasher flicks so Dream House seems like an excellent choice!

Yep, this. It should be pointed out though that although the genitals are pixelated in Japanese games as per the law, it is still very obvious what is going on!! And the voices are not censored at all

Haha, maybe, if I get some good ones. Halloween is really big in Japan these days - mostly as an excuse to party while not wearing much XD Sounds awesome! Pics? On the 31st I'll actually be in a hotel at the airport (travelling to Singapore in the morning), but maybe I can watch a few movies on my phone.. any excuse to watch horror movies! Any recommendations? Maybe something a bit more obscure.. I've seen most of the major ones e.g. Halloween, Friday 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street etc.

Do you have plans for Halloween this year? Party? Cosplay? Movie marathon? I'm going to a big party hosted by a friend this Friday and my outfit is... pink-haired catgirl! Nyan! Totally not Halloween themed but I wanted an excuse to do it ^.^

It depends what you mean by bad end. For example the kind of ending in a romance or nukige where you just don't get the girl/guy is pretty boring. I've been playing a BL game where if you make the wrong choices you don't get anywhere with the guy at all and it's soo frustrating! Howevever I love dark and gruesome bad ends! In Yandere all the ends are 'bad' but that is the appeal. Or Kara no Shoujo.. I wouldn't classify the endings as particularly 'good' but there is one 'true' end with each of the others giving their own answers so that you have to complete the whole game to really solve the mystery.

I have no idea where the term visual novel originated, but I think many Western fans prefer it as it doesn't have the pornographic connotations that eroge (erotic game) has. Also in the West people have a very fixed idea of what a 'game' should be, so it is useful to have a term to differentiate this particular genre. I think it's a good term for the Western market that will hopefully gain more and more common usage. Among my RL friends I still lovingly refer to VN as 'those porn games I play' haha.

Hi there, welcome to the forums! I would recommend the other major Key works - Kanon and Air. The art might look a bit old-school, but the story/music/characters etc more than make up for it.
