Do you read a lot? What kind of books do you like to read? Favourite novel? Favourite author? I've recently finished A Song of Ice and Fire #1 by George R R Martin, and The Rats by James Herbert. I'm currently reading The Picture of Dorian Grey. My favourite genres are horror and fantasy. I tend to avoid romance and drama. My favourite books are probably Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings (so cliche..), Feed by Mira Grant, and World War Z by Max Brooks (I like zombies). I've read a ton of other excellent books, but those are a few that have really stayed with me. So.. let's discuss!

Yeah, I guess I just wanted to specify! Only English right now.. I hope that one day my Japanese ability will be good enough that I can actually enjoy a Japanese novel, rather than finding it a chore because I have to stop every minute to look something up. Hmm maybe I'll make a thread about books/novels in the General forum..

Yeah the anime was kind of rushed, but still really good! I recommend it.. although it does leave you wishing it had been 24 eps instead of 12. I can't wait for the visual novel.. wish they'd get a move on with it!!

Whenever I hear "lolicon" these days, I simultaneously hear "Steve" XDD Personally, I'm not into lolis as I find them mostly annoying.. I usually go for the older characters. BUT I do sometimes like the ones who aren't as innocent as they seem. Actually in the game I'm playing right now (Harumade Kururu) I've kind of fallen in love with a loli character for the first time. She called Fuyune~

I don't really read light novels.. I read a lot of "real" novels (for lack of a better word.. I don't mean they're better than LN!) , so I don't really have time for light novels. I'm reading Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai for Japanese practice though. Not got very far yet, but if I enjoy it then I might start reading more LN

Just finished ep 4. This show is INCREDIBLE!! I'm really really loving it so far. I'm dying to find out what happens.. Should I read ahead in the manga, or squash my curiosity and follow the anime each week then read the manga after it's done? I usually prefer to watch the anime first, but if anyone's already read the manga and thinks differently, let me know!

Yes, as Sieg said, it's great! Excellent plot that's full of mystery and twists & turns, interesting characters, and plenty of gore. I highly recommend it. ( Actually I have a review on my blog *points to link in signature* XD )

I'm afraid I don't really know anything about the workings of Kickstarter.. but as a potential backer, what I usually look for is evidence that the idea is already in progress, and is something the creator is genuinely passionate about. Of course, both those apply to you & Unhack ^_~ I actually don't look too hard at the maths behind what they're asking for, but I probably should ^^; But I've only backed one project so far anyway. It was this VN project http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/99640711/memento-aurora-chronicles I can't wait for it to actually be released & don't think I'll regret backing it!

Just watched ep 1 of Shingeki no Kyojin this morning (yes I am kind of behind!). Loved it, looks like it's gonna be an epic story & can't wait to watch the other eps that are out so far.
