Best translation for CROSS CHANNEL?
littleshogun replied to the tales of Sora's topic in Visual Novel Talk
As for the Steam version, the engine is different from the original version with the translation patch is only working for original version, so the translation patch here is not applicable for Steam version. As for how to get the original version of Cross Channel, let's just say that there's a certain way to do so, although if you want to purchase it then probably you can go get the used one from Mandrake. -
Anime of the Year 2007-II Spring - Lucky☆Star
littleshogun commented on kivandopulus's blog entry in Anime of the Season
Hayate - Obviously this is comedy series in which if we read Tonikaku Kawaii then we should understand what kind of comedy that the author deliver, although in here it feature butler instead of newlywed couple. By the way I did read the Indonesian version of the manga, and it has a number of reference with one of those is ROD series with the translation note on it (Which should be noted that ROD is not easily accessible on Indonesia in 2009 unless one watch it through Animax). Oh yes, the anime version did feature YPC5 parody, which of course my favorite Precure reviewer catch up the reference. Darker than Black - Like mod Clephas said, this is more or less a dark anime with the MC Hei being badass even before he got his own superpower. No much to say other than I only glance a bit of it on Animax. Kaze no Stigma - Admittedly it's just a cliche shonen series, although the anime did leave one big question that obviously will set up the sequel. Unfortunately the question will never answered because the author was already passed away, and unlike Zero no Tsukaima the late author didn't have anyone who would finished his unfinished work. Sola - I only know that it's from Kanon writer along with the character design was worked on by Da Capo and ef artist, and no much other than it. Kamichama Karin - It's about the girl who somehow become goddess (ie magical girl), and now that I have read the synopsis I see it's following Harry Potter with the girl was left dead by her parents on top of being abused by her aunt. Nanoha Striker S - It's still Nanoha, except with her turned into adult and working for Federation. Also with the episodes are increased into 26, it's pretty clear that Nanoha already surpassed her older brother (Who is the MC of a VN) when it come to popularity. Lucky Star - Like Hayate, it has a lot of reference. Also it's Cute Girls Do Cute Things anime by Kyoani, and the twin is quite well known so much that SCA-DI made the twin reference in Subahibi. Gurren Lagann - While the second part may remind you of Code Geass (With robot and tactic), actually Gainax here put more emphasize on being hotblooded will be able to solve anything, and this series is also quite well known for drill meme (And that Yoko's outfit is quite sexy lol). That's all for what I can write in regard of Spring 2007 anime here. -
Any good web browser visual novels?
littleshogun replied to TheSoaringDingo's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Then in this case I don't know much, and now that you mention it Saya no Uta is indeed bugged. The other site that has a number of Japanese VNs is OOParts, although unfortunately it's only available for Japanese language and more importantly you need to log in to try the site (You need to pay in order to access the full service from the site if I'm right). Anyway, so far from what I can see the only site that provided well known VNs are only the one that I gave the links to and OOParts, although if you want to search more obscure web browser VNs, then there are several unknown title in VNDB. PS - There's also Erogames that also provide several VNs, although those VNs are nukige though. You also need to log in to play the game, and apparently you also need to pay if you want to enjoy the full feature. -
Any good web browser visual novels?
littleshogun replied to TheSoaringDingo's topic in Visual Novel Talk
In case you can read Russian, there's Ever17 web version in which it's only available in Russian. Other than that, there's Fate Stay Night web version. There's also a site that gather short length VNs such as True Remembrance or Saya no Uta, although there's no configuration and save function on the VNs. I hope that my answer here can be helpful to you. -
Welcome to this week VNTS Review. For the title, because we have Hanako as the heroine in Tamayura Mirai, I made a parody of a manga which also has Hanako (Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun) with I change 'Shounen' into 'Shoujo' and 'Hanako-kun' into 'Hanako-san', so we have 'Jibaku Shoujo Hanako-san'. For the info, Hanako here is the urban legend in Japan about the spirit of young girl haunts the school toilet (The article from Wikipedia). As for this week, obviously the biggest release here is Tamayura Mirai, and other than that we have Frontwing announced the exact release date for Milk Factory 2nd VN (On 25th later). Like last week, this week we also have several updates from fan translation along with one release, although said release is more or less an unknown VN. This week here can be said as more or less slightly above average one, and let's see what I can write in regard of it. The release from fan translation is a VN called Kimi ga Daichi ni Kaeru made, in that once again to be blunt is not exactly my favorite here, but of course some people may think otherwise and find themselves like it, so feel free to get the translation patch if you're curious and have fun. For fan translation updates, we have H2O is at 56.7% edited, ChuSingura is at 23.36% translated, Yosuga no Sora is at 56% edited, Tsuma Netori is at 10% edited, Koiyasumi is at 52.98% edited, and Akagoei FD is at 39.08% edited along with 21.84% QA-ed. Lastly, we have Walkure Romanze update with the translator fully translate Noel's route, which in turn obviously mean Walkure Romanze is fully translated. That said, we still have some waiting before Noel's patch release, because the translator want to do a lot of extra editing and QA in order to make sure that the best possible release. The biggest release for this week is obviously Tamayura Mirai, which if we follow the news closely was actually been delayed from the initial release plan on last April 21st. As for the VN itself, it's created by DMM child company Azurite, which is only natural that Shiravune as another DMM child company got to license this (Then again, we have Nekonyan licensed another Azurite VN Shinsou Noise after a hard battle). For the VN premise itself, we have our MC who is a sorcerer in a backwater village. The sorcerer's task itself is less fighting against evil using his magic skill and more to mediate the possible conflict between human and spirit, which is what the MC will be done in the VN, including having the relationship with two non-human heroines (The aforementioned Hanako and the succubus Midari). Go get Tamayura Mirai if you've been waiting for it ever since Shiravune announce it, and have fun. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and sorry for being quite short here. See you next week.

Anime of the Year 2007-I Winter - Nodame Cantabile
littleshogun commented on kivandopulus's blog entry in Anime of the Season
Naruto Shippuden - The second part of Naruto anime, and it's been infamous with a number of filler episodes. That said, as much infamy as this series is, at least it's not as infamous as Boruto. Shoujo Cosette - One of three attempts to revive World Masterpiece Theater, so obviously there's still two more series that will be aired in 2008 and 2009. YPC5 - Personal favorite for my favorite Precure reviewer. That aside, Toei decided to do a number of change, including to make the cast like Sentai/Power Ranger, put more focus on the heroines, and having the mascots took the part in the main story. For the first part of YPC5 trilogy (Including planned adult sequel in Autumn later), it's quite episodic with the character focus episodes on top of occasional Pinkie hunting. Also I should mention that YPC5 is not the sequel of FwPC or PCSS, seeing that all three had different place setting. Lastly, the character design are quite beautiful thanks to Kawamura's hard work. Nodame Cantabile - It's love story between genius rigid musician (Chiaki) and genius carefree musician (The titular Nodame), so yeah it's the love story between two contrasting musician. To be honest, no much that I can comment on this other than this is the first Animax anime without dub that I watch, and that the ending song is quite nice. That's all for what I can comment in regard of Winter 2007 anime here. -
Anime of the Year 2006-IV Fall - Death Note
littleshogun commented on kivandopulus's blog entry in Anime of the Season
Kanon 2006 - While I can understand the viewers may need to have lesser episodes, in the past there's much complain on how Toei didn't manage to adapt Kanon fully. So of KEY decided to ask Kyoani to do the adaptation for 24 episodes, and as the result Kyoani version of Kanon is the one that was well received. It help that it did adapt almost all of the scenes in the VNs very closely and faithfully on top having good graphic (That can still looking good even today), so yeah. Obviously while opinion may vary, at the very least I can say that it's better adaptation compared to Shuffle. Code Geass - Actually it's not the duplicate of Death Note, but rather it's based on Gundam because of the studio (After all, Light didn't controlling mecha and having the big battle inside of it while using it's light beam and super robot stuff). I came across this series when I see the VN version of the game, and I learnt over time that this series is very popular. It definitely help that on top having Sunrise and well known studio produce this, CLAMP also help with it's character design, so inevitably the crossover between two well known companies causing a lot of hype, which of course led them to milk this series to a certain degree. Death Note - In the past I thought that it's cool to have Light defeated his nemesis L, and in the end of the manga I didn't understand on why Near said that what Light has done is worse than any murderers. Nowadays, I can see that Near is indeed right because Light's goal basically has no limit and cause him to kill as much as possible, while any murderers at least know when to stop whenever their goal are achieved. Death Note here is indeed a nice look on how a crime with the seemingly noble motive is by no means can be less terrible than any other crimes, although the fans put much focus on Light and L relationship (So much that the fans are very angry when L was killed by Light and think that Near is not good enough as his replacement). Girl from Hell 2 - Second season of Girl from Hell, and in here obviously Enma Ai still accepted the other quest to sent someone to hell. Other than usual episodic stuff, this season also had a glimpse towards Enma Ai along with her own companions own pasts which obviously are quite dark. Yoake - We have the VN of this available in English, although it's too bad that it's unedited on top of it have no translated sex scenes because the translator chose all age version in which to be fair has two additional routes. That said, the anime itself is quite infamous, not because the director decided to turned Natsuki into being suddenly yandere following what Shuffle anime did (Which not really happen in the anime), but rather because the artist draw the cabbage in the very spherical way (You can view the video in here), and apparently the nowadays animator took the job drawing the cabbage very seriously thanks to this anime. By the way, when it come to this anime there's no much to say other than it adapt Feena's route. That's all for what I can write in regard of Autumn 2006 anime here. -
I'm late by half of the season, but may as well try it. Anyway we have GL drama (Yuri is My Job), silly adventure (The Hero is Dead), and most importantly the popular idol drama from Kaguya's writer (Oshi no Ko). I probably only watch Kuma Kuma Bear 2 weekly, although I still follow some other series (HSPC, Birdie Wing 2, World Dai Star) through other mean. Feel free to talk about Spring 2023 anime here. PS - The link to the Livechart for this season.

Welcome to Fuwanovel and sorry for the belated greeting. No much to say other than good luck on your job and I hope that you'll have fun in here.

Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and sorry for being very late. For the title, because Shiravune just announced a nukige with the premise a succubus dragged the MC into her village which turned out to be populated by succubi (The plural form of sucubus), I decide to make parody of a Yu-Gi-Oh card Secret Village of the Spellcasters by changed 'Spellcasters' into 'Succubi', so we have 'Secret Village of the Succubi' as the title. As for this week, if I may something it's less interesting compared to the last one, but on the other hand we have some updates from fan translation with the most notable one is Ginharu update. Overall, this week is a below average one, and let's see what I can write in regard of it. Cherry Kiss announced yet another nukige, and said nukige is localize as Oppai Samurai with the premise that one very strong female samurai was forced to have sex with the MC who is nobody. While I should say that Cherry Kiss catalogue is not what I keep my eyes on, at least they can provide entertaining localize title and the description as Oppai Samurai description can tell. No exact release date for this as of now, but we know that we'll get see it released in this month. Speaking of exact release date, we finally have Ninetails announced Gaia release date, although unfortunately it isn't in June because of some circumstances beyond their control, but instead they'll release it on July 28th later so you can note the date if you've been looking forward into it. As for the aforementioned VN that Shiravune announced, it's Succubus Sessions: Mami Mamiya's Sweet Slice of Hell with the premise is exactly what I wrote beforehand. It's worth to mention that it's actually Moonstone (Or rather it's child company Argonauts) which as we know is Mangagamer's partner, so perhaps there was some things happened behind the scene with them asking Shiravune instead of their usual partner to localize their VN. Oh yes, it's actually the first part of the trilogy, just like Uchi trilogy in that Mangagamer already released two of it's title. Also I should say that the graphic is very nice, and that we already have the exact release date for it in that it'll be on July 21st later. For fan translation updates, we have Senmomo is at 97.54% edited with side stories is past 90% mark (91.38%) edited, ChuSingura is at 21.86% translated, Tsukihime Remake Ciel's Route Day 12 has been finalized, Tsuma Netori is at 10% edited, Koiyasumi is past halfway (50.58%) edited, H2O is also past halfway (52.2%) edited, and both proofreading and editing work for Planetarian Snow Globe are finished with the translator now finishing up the image along with getting the technical side functional. We also have some translator decided to translate the beta version of Jingai Makyou, or to be exact the trial of the beta version that didn't manage to make it to the final version (The VNDB link of it). I can only say that it may be interesting if you want to see on how Jingai Makyou was envisioned at first. Last but not the least we also have several updates from Daybreak, with Akagoei FD is at 32.18% edited, Akagoei 3 translation work resuming with the current progress is 15 out of 169 script files are translated, and Yuzuki's route of Ginharu is at halfway translated. Or rather, actually it's just approximately halfway translated because it's based on when the translator did ask Irru about the progress a couple of weeks ago with Irru answer that it's about a third translated back then, and the translator estimated that Irru should be already edited half of Yuzuki's route by now. Also in case you didn't like on how there's a number of editing error in Mizuha's route, the translator already addressed the complain and apply the changes, although he decided to released polished Mizuha's route in Yuzuki's patch. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.

Tsurezure's New Project - Gin'iro Haruka
littleshogun replied to littleshogun's topic in Fan Translation Discussion
An update with currently Yuzuki's route is at halfway translated, or rather approxtimately halfway translated because the translator ask Irru about the progress a couple week ago with the progress at that time was about a third edited. Anyway with the editing work is still ongoing, obviously there won't be March or April release anymore, so let's just wait for Yuzuki's patch release here. PS - In case you're concerned about Mizuha's route fix/QA, it's already been finished. That said, the team decided to withhold the release that contained fixed Mizuha's route, so that they can release it alongside Yuzuki's patch. -
I don't know if your theory in regard of each companies decided to release one proper VN per month is right or not, but at least I know that there's several nukige release if you want to include those as monthly releases. That said, Prima Doll couldn't count because it's still just the first episode, Oregairu is the adaptation, and Chronos Rebellion is Frontwing attempt to milk Grisaia with the game is came from their failed Grisaia mobage. So of course, the most obvious VN of the Month is Tenshi Re-Boot, in which Nekonyan already blatant enough to hint their involvement in English version before announced it on the day of the release with the progress is at 10% translated. For Tenshi Re-Boot, I want to deny that Yuzusoft VNs are primarily collections of fetishes, but I suppose I can't deny it after I recall that my interest in Dracu Riot is because Nicola's nice dress along with magical girl costume in Sanoba Witch (Also with mod Clephas openly admit that his fetish is cat ear and his disappointment with Kaguya very rarely appear with her cat ear). Anyway, as long as people except usual Yuzusoft VN (ie usual high production value and the focus on the heroines), they'll get it with Tenshi Re-Boot. Good luck to Nekonyan in regard of working on this. That's all for what I can write in regard of April 2023 releases.

Anime of the Year 2006-III Summer - NHK ni Youkoso!
littleshogun commented on kivandopulus's blog entry in Anime of the Season
Girl Who Leapt Through Time - If you can think that it's like Ghibli, then it mean that the director did his job very well, and it should be mentioned that the director (Hosoda Mamoru) was originally intended to direct Howl (Ghibli movie) only to be cancelled. That said, Madhouse here also has good reputation when it come to animation, so it should be possible to make the movie that rival Ghibli to a degree. Zero no Tsukaima - Our tsundere Louie (Who voiced by Kugimiya Rie) is known as Eclipsed avatar. That said, I only know that it's isekai anime with the MC become familiar instead of overpowered MC, and the original author was passed away before manage to finish the light novel (At least another author manage to finish it through the notes that the original author left). Welcome to NHK - While it's easy to mock the theory that public TV station can brainwash people, turned out that there's more inside the MC who keep spewing outlandish theory, which in turn highlight on how broken the MC is. It should also be mentioned that the dysfunction is not stop to the MC, as turned out that the people in the show have their baggage which can be quite heavy. So yeah, the anime here is more or less quite phycological with the casts have problem with their mentality, and it's even worse in the manga because the usage of drugs. Power Puff Girls Z - The original Power Puff Girls was inspired by Japanese anime, and ironically enough Toei decided to make their own version of Power Puff Girls. Anyway considering that original Power Puff Girls was 2 to 11 years old children, I guess it's right to call it as childish and therefore it's for kids even though the casts are 13 years old age. Oh yes, Toei decided to make the girls like magical girl instead of making them have the powers all the time, although whether the change is good or not is depend on who you ask. That's all for what I can write in regard of Summer 2006 anime here. -
Because we have both of Lorena and the Land of Ruins (Controversial) update along with Shiravune announced Dungeon Travelers 2 PC version, I decided to change the word 'Dungeon' with 'Ruin' so we have 'Ruin Travelers 2' as the title (I know that the title is quite plain). Also yes, I know both are not VN, but may as well write about those two in here. Anyway, to be honest I'm about to call this week as a plain one, but thanks to both Shiravune and Nekonyan suddenly give the announcements, I manage to find this week become interesting, although it only apply to the announcements though. That said if you want interesting release, then there's Tsui no Stella leak. Overall, this week is an almost interesting one, and let's see what I can write in regard of it. Nekonyan announced that there won't be sex scenes in Lorena, and the reasons is because the developer decided to do away with 18+ game and go all age. What I can say is that it definitely resemble several companies who goes all age (ie Laplacian, Pulltop, Harukaze), but unlike those companies in which they decided to remove all of the written sex scenes, Lorena only has MP4 sex scenes video with the sex scenes are only encountered when Lorena lost. While obviously removed content is always sensitive matter, in the end I didn't care much of it when it come to Lorena. Anyway to dilute the censorship controversy here, I should also mention that Nekonyan manage to get Steam store page for Klutzy Cupid was opened (Link to the store page), and they said that it's the fastest wait because they only need for two days to be approved. For the comparison, it could took weeks for games to be approved, so good for them. Shiravune announced the Dungeon Travelers 2 for PC version, and for the bonus they also announced 2-2 as well. For the premise, it's about the MC Fred who is an adventurers that was dispatched into combating the monster uprising, and for some reasons the monsters are cute girls. Well, Aquaplus is used to be develop several VNs, so it's normal to be like that, especially with the first Dungeon Travelers is a what-if for To Hearts 2 casts when they're in RPG setting. For 2-2, apparently it's more or less the same, expect that it took time after the MC failed to do the quest and lost the battle. It also has controversy, namely that Steam rejected the game. Oh yes, it also has PSV version that was released by Atlus, although it's been censored for the obvious reasons and they didn't localize 2-2. We have another route for Obedient Women released, and with that it bring nine routes of it all translated. By the way the newest route is about Nagasaki Kotomi, who from what I see is more or less about a married landowner daughter who didn't happy with her arranged marriage had sex with another man, and obviously it lead the wife to have affair. Sugar Sweet Temptation release was delayed to 26th, so obviously we didn't have April release anymore. Speaking of release date, there are four otome VNs release announcements with three of those are from Aksys. For the detail, we'll going to have Charade Maniacs released on June 27th, Jack Jeanne on June 15th, Radiant Tale on July 27th, and Norn9 fandisc on August 24th. Feel free to note the date if you've been waiting for those four otome VNs releases. From fan translation, we have Shin Koihime Musou is at 65% edited, Yosuga no Sora is at 71% TLC-ed along with 55% edited, Haruka na Sora is at 70% translated and TLC-ed along with 26% edited, Koiyasumi is at 45.91% edited, H2O is at 46.8% edited, Tsuma Netori is at 35% edited, and ChuSingura is at 21.34% translated. Once again if you want interesting release, then there's Tsui no Stella full translation patch leak (Because it was released without permission from the rest of the group), although said patch was pulled out quickly because the editing of it is still not completed with the progress is currently at 20% edited. That said if you can't wait for the official release of Tsui no Stella, then feel free to try the patch. Almost forgot to mention that we have Aojashin restoration patch progress, and the newest patch has 13 out of 17 sex scenes translated. Other than Dungeon Traveler 2, Shiravune had yet another surprise announcement. Said announcement is Nukitashi, in which if we know is one of VN that Sol Press failed to release. The premise of it is still the same with our MC (Junnosuke) who chose to protect his virginity for his true love thrown into the island where have sex is a necessity, and he decided to organize the rebellion because he didn't like the rules. Also it's use the translation that Ittaku has been working on back when Sol Press still being active to translating VNs, so currently it's been fully translated and edited with the last progress is in QA work. Obviously it mean that it's almost ready for the release, and it'll be available in this year on both Steam (With the contents are apparently only 2 hours for the obvious reason) and Johren. Last but not the least, Nekonyan announce an unexpected title, although it should be mentioned that it's very unexpected only to anyone else who never following VNs news in the first place. Yes, that title is Tenshi Re-Boot, and Nekonyan basically already indirectly confirmed that they'll localized the newest Yuzusoft VN through several tweets (They mentioned that they translated the 4-koma video and the info of it on VNDB are pulled from their tweets). That said, it's still surprising that they announced it as soon as Japanese version was released back on April 28th. For the premise, it's about our MC Riku who got visited by the angel Noa (One of the heroine), and then Noa reveal that Riku is actually the reincarnation of the Demon King with Noa was tasked to protect Riku. We already have some progress on this, and right now it's been at 10% translated. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.

Welcome to Fuwanovel, and not much to say other than I hope that you'll have fun in here. Also good luck to your Youtube channel there. PS - Speaking of Spanish, perhaps you may want to check Sakura no Uta considering that it's been available in Spanish.

Anime of the Year 2006-II Spring - Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu
littleshogun commented on kivandopulus's blog entry in Anime of the Season
Gintama - From what I understand it has a lot of parody, so you may as well watch it for that. Simoun and Strawberry Panic - Both are GL show that took inspiration from previous show (Simoun from Kannazuki no Miko (With robot and all) and Strawberry Panic from Marimite), and from what I can understand it's among well known GL anime. I don't know though if I'll watch those two later. Digimon Savers - One of the darker Digimon anime because it featured the most evil human enemy, although in the end it's not much darker than either Tamers or Survive despite that the casts are mostly grown up. Oh yes it has the game for PS2 that I and my brother played, although said game is quite short and easy with the story deviate from the anime. xxxHolic and Chronicle of the Wing 2 - Holic is the first time that CLAMP styles is really prominent in the anime, and it's about Yuuko who is the witch that help Chronicle of the Wing casts to do the journey. Speaking of it, episode 4 of the second season immediately retcon what was set in the last episode of season 1, and the anime ending with the casts fighting an anime only character who is very overpowered before continuing the journey. Haruhi - The titular character is definitely very unique, although whether it can make her likeable or not is another matter, especially after the infamous second season that was caused by the trouble in the production. Anyway it should be obvious that the MC is not the titular character, but rather the observer Kyon who witness the hijinks that was ensued thanks to Haruhi. Almost forget to mention that if you watch the episodes based on the number of episodes, the story will be out of order so you better search the internet if you want to watch the episodes in proper order. Utawarerumono - Honestly speaking there's no much to say here other than it's relatively faithful adaptation. That said, if you want to play the game, then I would say that you better pick the version that Shiravune localized because of the improvement. Although if you want to see the sex scenes, well nothing stop you to pick the older version. Higurashi - With first Ryukishi work being very popular, obviously it's inevitable that it got adapted. Deen here did cram all six Chapters into 26 anime episodes, so it's inevitable that some parts are quite rushed, although it's not as bad as Umineko because Higurashi here has some shorter Chapter (Himatsubushi). It also worth to mention that the first season of Higurashi is quite infamous, no small thanks to Meakashi chapter which is quite dark with torture and all. That's all for what I can write in regard of Spring 2006 anime here. -
Bumping the thread because I'm bored, and more importantly it's because there's a lot of change ever since 2018, especially with now three out of the eight announcements here are taken over by another companies. For more detail, Mirai Radio was released by Nekonyan, Irotoridori was announced by Nekonyan and currently waiting the HD assets from the developer, and just today Shiravune announced they'll release Nukitashi in this year. Also while I did mention that Sol Press would have hard time to work on eight VNs announcements, I should give them a point for be able to released three of their announcements (Kimiyume, Onikiss, and Hitotsuba), although too bad that turned out they have far more problem besides engine work so much that they can't operate anymore. Oh well. PS - Now that I see JAST, Nekonyan, and Shiravune can rescue four of Sol Press former title, hopefully those three companies (Or perhaps other companies like Mangagamer or even Sekai) can rescue more title such as Witch's Garden or HHG.

Welcome to this week VNTS Review. As for the title, because we have ChuSingura Chapter 1 patch released along with Sorcerer's choice, I did change the word 'Chusingura' from Chapter 1 title of ChuSingura (Kanadehon Chusingura) to 'Mahoutsukai' from Sorcerer's Choice Japanese title, so we have 'Kanadehon Mahoutsukai'. For this week, other than the release for both of ChuSingura Chapter 1 and Sorcerer's Choice, we also have the other releases, although those are just nukige. We also once again have Frontwing announce the plan to release Sharin, but we still don't know if they can fulfill it or not for certain. Overall, at least this week is slightly more interesting compared to the last week, although in the end it's another below average one, so let's see what I can write in regard of it. Frontwing did announce that they'll release Sharin in August later, and they'll release the different version with the different resolution (All age version with 16:9 resolution, 18+ version with 4:3). The reason is simply that they only have 16:9 assets for all age version, so they decided to just release it as soon as possible. Also yes as you can see it mean that Frontwing failed to do the ability to change the resolution within the game that they promised earlier, although to be frank it's more or less a colossal waste of time seeing that I didn't see the VN that allow the player to change the resolution (I may be wrong on this). That said, even with I said that what Frontwing did is 'colossal waste of time', at least we should give them a point trying to do it so that the player can enjoy the CG in both resolutions. All in all, let's see if Frontwing will manage to finally release it in August later or not. Cherry Kiss released their nukige called Virgin Knight is my Onahole Tonight, and from what I understand it's about a male vice commander who is born from royal family cover the mistake for his female junior, with said junior is the girlfriend of his female commander. After the incident, the male MC started to teach his commander on how to have sex with male, and turning the commander into masochist while at it. We also have Shiravune released Hypno-Mart nukige, and once again the premise is about a convenience store manager who have enough of a naughty female part time worker give a lot of correction to the worker (Obviously involving hypnotism and a lot of sex). Go get either nukige (Or maybe both of those) if you want, and have fun. Both JAST and Mangagamer released their BL VN, and I can only say that at least it has interesting dark premise. For Mangagamer release (Lkyt), it's about the struggle in a world where demon keep invading humanity, and humanity was only left with a very small part of the world, so yeah it's more or less like Attack of Titan which in turn was inspired by Muv Luv Alternative. For JAST release (The aforementioned Sorcerer's Choice), it's about a sorcerer who need to quickly decide his life choice after his family was attacked by a violent mob, and said choice is whether he'll either chose light or dark. Go get either BL VNs if you interested with those, and have fun. From fan translation, we have Yosuga no Sora is at 70% TLC-ed along with 53% edited, Ciel's route of Tsukihime Remake has been fully edited up to Day 13, and Tsuma Netori is at 30% translated. Lastly we have the patch that translate Chapter 1 of ChuSingura, and the patch here is obviously translate 20.99% of it. For the reminder, while we already have the translated ChuSingura way back in 2016 on Steam, it should be noted that it has some mistranslation on top that it cut the sex scenes along with several other scenes. While I can see on why the publisher cut several contents, it's still too bad that there's no translated version of the removed contents, until now at least. Obviously the patch is still far from complete, seeing that there's still four chapters remain untranslated, but at least now you can have the translation for the uncensored Chapter 1. Oh yes, you can get the patch in this link, although it didn't compatible with Steam version. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.

Episodic Stories – An Anatomy of Visual Novels
littleshogun commented on Pallas_Raven's blog entry in Towards The End Sky
Speaking of TV series, actually the anime also use episodic approach, which somehow is very fitting for the obvious reasons. In fact, a lot of popular and long runner anime actually use episodic approach, with the most notable one are One Piece and Conan, and no it didn't stop them to become very popular. I don't really know though if episodic VN is meant to pay homage to the TV series. As for Internal Episodic Structure, Bokuten common route is one of such example with anthology format seeing that it put the focus on the several couples beside the MC and the heroines. Since you mentioned Liar-soft, I may as well mentioned Yurirei in which it's like the anthology of several GL couple that the MC help. Speaking of help the couple plot, ef here is the most prominent example with the main couple help several side couple to find love, and yes it's another example of anthology. That said, not all of episodic stories in VN are purely anthology, seeing that there's Subahibi in which ultimately it tell one big story even with the writer did write it in episodic way (With each episodes have different MCs). Almost forgot to mention that not only Yuzusoft that has non-anthology episodic structure, but Primal Hearts and Venus Blood series also has it. As for External Episodic Structure, it was used by Ryukishi07 in which he sell his each part of the VN at Comiket, before the publisher bundling all of his VNs into one big bundle. Nowadays, there's a lot of trend the using of it is rising, with the most prominent example is Nine series. Obviously the reason on why the company did this is that so they can save the funds, although there can be another reason to do the episodic release though, namely it allow the writer to build his story slowly (Although the writer may forgot his plot point from the early episode if he writer the later episode). Personally speaking, this format is not my favorite, but again it help the company to save some funds, especially when the company face the funding problem like Frontwing. That's all for what I can write in regard of this topic. -
Can I play Da Capo 4 without playing Da Capo 3?
littleshogun replied to psvortex's topic in Visual Novel Talk
From what I see, Da Capo 4 here is the new continuation, so yeah you probably can still enjoy Da Capo 3 if you play Da Capo 4 first because both games have different continuity. That said, Da Capo 3 is a good VN by it's own anyway even without factoring the sequel, especially if you've been a fan of it. By the way, I still hope that someday Mangagamer will license Da Capo 4 seeing that the initial version might be created to be sold in Steam, but it might be too hard for them as of now. -
Anime of the Year 2006-I Winter - Ergo Proxy
littleshogun commented on kivandopulus's blog entry in Anime of the Season
Girls Meets Girl - A story about male MC crushed by an alien spaceship with the alien decided to turn the MC into female as the way to apologize, and then having love triangle with her female childhood friend and the popular girl. Yes it's GL love triangle anime with the MC is formerly male, and I see no problem with it lol. Also serious GL drama is not stranger in the manga, with one of those is 'Yuri is My Job' that just aired in Spring 2023. The manga and the anime here have different ending, although the manga is not fully adapted, so in exchange you may also want to watch the OVA if you want full experience of this. Almost forgot to mention that eufonius did a good job with the opening song. Magikano - Compared to PCSS, obviously this is not 49 episode magical girl anime even with transformation scene and stuff. Also the MC here is just use as some sort of plot device, although it might be justified seeing that his looks is like Love Hina Keitarou and so the staff decided to have the MC as generic as possible. The anime here is ending up with weird Return to the Past loop, while the manga is not have that plot as much as I recall. PCSS - Toei did make a neat setting between the Precure and the villain organization, with the Precure is based on Japanese Four Beauty of Nature (Even though initially it only has two Precure) with the cadres are based on Chinese Five Elements, and both sides have goal to search Fountain of Sun in order to do what they wish so (Precure is obviously to protect it, while the villain is to destroy it). Oh yes, the premise is that Precure is summoned because the villain already destroyed 6 out of 7 fountains, and another neat thing is that the fountain are based on the days in Japanese. That said, unfortunately it has flaw, namely that the Precure design resembled FwPC so much Italian thought that Saki and Mai is the future Nagisa and Honoka, so obviously it's quite awkward to watch when it's first broadcasted in 2006. Obviously Toei decided to not have the artist working as the character designer for the next Precure, although he's skilled enough in animation direction so he's still work as Animation Director for several Precure episodes. Fate Stay Night - While obviously recent fans would prefer newer UBW anime thanks to Ufotable hard work (Which even more successful now that they adapt Demon Slayer) and that UBW has more plot twist compared to Fate, obviously 2006 version here is still decent introduction to Fate franchise, providing that the audience didn't expect Ufotable level of effects. It help that actually it's quite good adaptation for 2006, considering that at that year there's several less faithful VN adaptation with one of the example is Shuffle (At least there's no sudden Rin become the final enemy twist or something like that). That said, it's still quite a debate on which Fate anime version is the best, although at least with Ufotable not made Fate route adaptation yet, Fate 2006 the only way to watch animated Fate route (UBW has the aforementioned anime, and Heaven's Feel has movie trilogy). Hellsing Ultimate - The OVA is the most faithful adaptation, and thus it's better received on MAL. Of course there's some flaw happen, with the obvious one is that the pacing is rushed compared to the manga, which make sense if we consider that the studio only have 10 episodes to fully adapt the manga even with the extended length. Also yes, with it is not broadcasted on TV, the staff here have more freedom to not reduce the disturbing contents and the fan service, some of which is including on how they make Seras's breast as big like in the manga (Yes it's important to note because it's one of the change that the anime magazine which I read mentioned). That's all for what I can write in regard of Winter 2006 anime here. -
"Re: Sharin no Kuni Project" Kickstarter preview page is up
littleshogun replied to trickzzter's topic in Visual Novel Talk
I revived the thread because Frontwing finally has the updates to share, with the most important update is that they'll release it in August later. They also mentioned that they have problem with screen resolution changing function, so they decided to scrap the plan and just release the VN as it is. For the detail, it'll be 16:9 for all age version (Because the only version with that resolution is XBOX 360 version which removed the sex scenes) and 4:3 for 18+ version. As for the fiasco, while I think that Frontwing really waste their time with working on screen resolution change, at least they're willingly to address the minor complain in which some did complain on how 16:9 version of G-Senjou crop the CG from the original resolution (4:3). Also we should give a point to Frontwing to willing to work on the Config menu for years, despite that Sharin option is far more simple than Config menu for the original Kunado (Which Shiravune got flak because they chose to port the VN and removed several features in Config menu to save time) and thus there's no need to port it. -
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and for this week title because we have Process of Elimination release with a group of detective called Detective Alliance fighting against serial killer, I decided to make a parody from usual title in Kindaichi (And sometimes Conan), so we have 'Detective Alliance Murder Case' as the title. As for this week, honestly speaking it's kind of plain after both of Kunado and Ars Magna release, but on the other hand at least we finally got the release date for Sugar Sweet Temptation along with Sekai gave us some updates. Overall, this week is a below average one, and let's see what I can write in regard of it. For Process of Elimination, the premise is like what I said above with a group of detectives gather in order to fight a serial killer who already killed 100 people called Quartering Duke. Obviously like in any detective story, nothing as easy as it goes, especially with the elusive killer already mingled with the detectives and decided to challange them with Danganronpa like game. So the chaotic situation ensues with some detectives was enticed by the killer challange and then killed the fellow detective, with all hope to put the chaos to the rest by unmasking Quartering Duke is left to the MC Wato who got called as Incompetent Detective. Go get Process of Elimination if you've been interested with it along with have console (NISA didn't release Steam version of this), and have fun. Cherry Kiss announced a nukige with the premise the MC is the subordinate of a female knight, and they'll release the nukige on 21st later. Speaking of nukige, Fakku released the nukige that have both of kitsune and tanuki, and I have no much to say other than it should be a nice release if you want to see a lot of sex scenes featuring kitsune and tanuki. Shiravune announced a nukige with title Hypno-Mart that they'll release in 25th later, and it featuring the MC doing a lot of correction toward the naughty gyaru who work part time as cashier in a convinient store. Love Lab finally announced the exact release date for Sugar Sweet Temptation, and the said exact release date will be on 28th later, so you may note the date if you've been waiting for it. As for the most recent Sekai updates, we have Chiisana Kanojo is at halfway translated along with 20% edited, Hoshizora Kakaru Hashi is at 10% translated, and Sheol is fully translated. There's also the update in regard of engine work for two of their projects, in which we have Imouto no Seiiki engine work is 80% done and Harumade Kururu engine work is 60% done. While it's obvious that Sekai want to work on Imouto no Seiiki engine as soon as possible, it's kind of interesting to see that there's some significant progress with Harumade Kururu engine work, so hopefully it mean that we finally can have it released in the near future. From fan translation, we have H2O is at 44% edited, Tsuma Netori is at a quarter edited, and Koiyasumi is fully edited along with 34.62% edited. There's also White Album update with it is at 17.48% translated, with the most important thing to note is Yuki's route is fully translated and the translator will work on Rina's route as the next route to be transated. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week. PS - I know there's some Sharin update from Frontwing today, but I decided to save the talk about it for my next VNTS Review.

Hi! Developer joining to share his work.
littleshogun replied to sypherzent's topic in Introduce Yourself
Welcome to Fuwanovel and sorry for the belated greeting. No much to say other than good luck on your first VN project and that you'll have fun in here.
