1. If you don't have SR_qc.exe in your folder, something went wrong with your download. you'll probably want to force a re-check on the torrent. 2. The correct look is something like this, actually Basically, the key needed has the path HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Borland/Locales. It has a name equal to the path to your SR_qc.exe (in my case, D:\Shinfonikku\SymphonicRain\SR_qc.exe because I like complicated, nonstandard filepaths apparently), and a value of MOO. Also, make sure to not use "run as administrator" when running regadd.bat.

I go by the long fu sound. huwanovel. More Furukawa than Futon, for random references of dubious value.

I/O prepatched - need help with testing / distribution
Zakamutt replied to Zakamutt's topic in Fan Translation Discussion
After rethinking the whole ftp thing, I'm currently uploading to google drive, done in like... 8 hours apparently if things go well. Time to read I/O, sleep, and work, so back in like 16 hours.- 10 replies

To be honest though, the h scenes in school days were kind of bad even without that. So much video reuse lol

After a fairly modest amount of effort, I've created a .bat file which according to lazy testing appears to make english-patched I/O work without installing. Prepatched release: possible! I don't really feel like releasing something untested, though, which is why I am looking for: 1. People willing to test the VN as extensively as possible. Preferably you have not installed I/O on the machine previously. Doesn't necessarily need to be many people if you're willing to use VMs. I've talked to Kuu about this, but he was at work and tired and timezones and stuff 2. Someone that can share the release to testers through FTP or something. Basically I just want somewhere to upload it which isn't a shitty dl speed, split archive requiring file locker. Can and will use sftp if possible. PM me or post in this topic and I'll get back to you. I realize I've asked bout this on IRC and stuff, but I'm feeling impatient (hey, I/O is a great vn. It needs a release as fast as reasonable!1). If you have solutions to these issues that aren't necessarily what I'm currently planning feel free to tell (for example, a file locker I can upload like 4gb to without issues). I'd also love to be in contact with anyone currently operating a seedbox for fuwatorrents, to do the eventual release.

try playing hidden, that way at least you're taking approach circles out of the equation. Hit things according to the music, not the map. Try playing lowfuck AR and shutting your eyes `s or .5s before clicking each beat of course, if you were the kind of person willing to do this I'm not sure if you would have this problem anyway lol

I don't personally think Refrain shares all that much of Rin2's tone, though That said, they -are- written by the same guy

Note: you can uninstall the game in the regular old windows way, add and remove programs/programs and features, whatever they call it these days. Starting setup.exe might do the same thing. That said, if you can't read moon it might be a bit hard to pick the right option lol... Hmm imma get dressed

Are you sure you have kept the files in the same folder you told the installer to put them in? Probably not related, because trying thatgave me a different error, but worth a try. I'd be interested to see the values of the registry entries the installer left behind, as well... Press the Windows key and write "regedit" without the quotes into the box, then press enter The windows registry editor should start. Select "my computer" in the tree view of folders to the left. Basically search only searches downwards from this from what I can tell, so moderately important. Press ctrl+f and search for asgard. Could take a while. You should see something like this Click on the io_r2 folder. Quite a lot of entries should pop up on the right. (looks like this to me) Check your value for InstallDir. If it isn't where you actually installed I/O, you have a problem. Also send a pic of the values in general if you can.

(go ahead and read the foreword to Heisig's book if you can. it should explain why he made a lot of the choices and limitations that go with rtk). tl;dr it's easier if you don't learn readings at first; you can pick them up later when you see the kanji in context, look it up, etc. As for reading slowly, you should also remember that the brain doesn't really read individual characters as much as it does words and even whole sentences. Since you don't have vocab yet, that won't happen. It's kind of inevitable for it to be slow. Do read out all the random jaapanese alphabet text you see everywhere to practice, it will help a bit. And learn katakana

ok, guess I need to get Ryou then.. He should go map the hard for tsuioku summer night already w

At work, there is an automated coffee maker which also provides chocolate. Possibly the only perk. Flavor is, at the very least, decent. Didn't get any today though, some guy did maintenance on it precisely when I went for a break.

Well, if anyone wants to pair with me I ~already have two girls in my avatar~. Shcboomer, Ryouuuuu, I am looking at you with about equal intensity~

Mmm, basically it just says "application initialization error" (kanji are 初期化). One mildly interesting thing about the game is that it uses DirectX, though that seems unlikely to cause problems with such an old game... I'm pretty much stumped right now. About one of the errors you saw before (volume labels etc): The one thing I can think of is that you didn't fully install it, and are using the partial install feature (which, once upon a time, would pull files from the CD instead of the hard drive. I don't think anyone does this any more, so you might not be aware). From my muddy memories of the install process, the full/partial installation option has full on top, partial on bottom. Can't check right now because the installer is whining that I have it installed already.

Lol, dual phase. *gabe kills yet another kitten*

One thing I've noticed is that the sprites don't really have many expressions, and aren't choreographed that well in general. it's very noticeable compared to something like Higurashi.

1. you should probably re-download the patch if something doesn't extract correctly. That IO r2_en.exe is the file you use to run the english-patched game 2. what program are you using to mount the ISO file? I used Daemon Tools Lite, which worked for me 3. to take a picture of the screen, the easiest solution might be to use the http://puush.me/ program. There are other ways to do it, but damn if it isn't smooth. Gyazo is another thing that is apparently the same?
