Have you tried running it as administrator? Might fix it, but depends on how it works. Alternatively, if you're already running it as administrator run it as normal user instead. Otherwise, you might want to do the usual and check if any file is set to read only, and if you have jp locale on.

I personally don't mind H, even fairly bad H. I fap to almost every h-scene (one problem sometimes: too high density! I'm unable to... recharge.). This doesn't mean I'm not a huge storyfag; Ever17 is my top rated vn for a reason. I usually read vns in bed with my faptop sitting on my chest. It helps... With that said, I would love for the h to be generally better written and more accomodating to my western tastes (for one, I don't like the girls saying no all the time in that japanese ValuesDissonance way).

(if you've read this far in the thread, you're probably spoiled to this level anyway) I personally liked Kotori's route precisely because of the feeling of powerlessness, futility and general depression it invokes. I assumed kotarou ended up with the girl at the end due to bishoujo-ge logic, so that was not a problem to me. Also, I personally disagree that Terra is depressing, but maybe that's just me.
