I think the one for the fuwaforums looks good(ish) since it has that F in the center bringing it together. As for the 'Zette's... not so much. I don't think the earlier icon looked very good in the first place to be honest though.

Re: the Rewrite example - I think his contemptuous tone is carried out decently enough in the translation even without constant mention of the honorific. I suppose actually knowing what it means to begin with might have colored my perception, though... thing is, it would be pretty awk to add "you bastard" (or teme...) to like every line he says, so this is unavoidable.

Grisaia level of localization is generally better. I was watching FFF's subs of Love Live S1 decently recently and there were times where conversation was pretty obviously localized heavily to the point where sure, that's not technically what they said... and I was somewhat impressed and hoped I could manage a translation as natural as that down the line, I guess? I don't think there has to be a problem with a disconnect between the two.

Apparently they even censored kissing scenes, like wat. Translation is also pretty inaccurate in routes other than Ageha's according to the guy TLCing it at the moment. Basically the release is a failure all-around. I would honestly not have whined about the censoring too much had the tl been decent and certain really excessive censoring not present... That said... I haven't even read it, so what I say is second-hand.

Well, Flowers being near the top is nice, though I'd have wished for okujou no yurirei-san to be up there... hopefully it's below the fold but decently high up #futilehopes I wonder if the Flowers sequel (aka Flowers natsu hen) will be better than the first which was apparently decently good but a bit underwhelming. Sigh...

On a sidenote the link to the MG survey I posted on fuwa's facebook page got (exactly) 1200 clicks. It's quite possible people from fuwa facebook are a sizeable part of the sample, lol.

Meh you can pretty much always buy the vns directly from the companies too (and that's probably better since steam takes a large cut of the money and you'll still get steam keys anyway.) That said some of MG's stuff has random DRM which is annoying but required by jp companies for whatever reason, but their hard copies don't so yay. Also, it's completely possible to buy a copy then download a cracked version or whatever, admittedly extra work on behalf of the consumer but if you wanted to support the company, it's not that much
