  1. This is the defining moment of the century. The day we will match the first 10 digits of pi in date/time
  2. True. Just grabbed this randomly and still haven't bothered to pick a proper avatar. Next person is all about that bass.

  4. All the haters just can't handle a bit of NTR. It's a meh title that is worth the read if you are interested in it and can stomach a plot centered around reverse-NTR; wouldn't be my first suggestion but wouldn't be my last either.
  5. Wanko to Kurasou
  6. Just figured out how to play the score matches Now I don't have enough time to farm up points for the good rewards playing normal, and I can't survive hard games consistently enough to risk playing random songs. I don't see why they don't have a proper tab for SMs set up, I wouldn't have even noticed they existed if not for all the screenshots on here.
  7. I just started playing and I could already see how little the score has to do with how well you are playing. The only reason to FC that I've seen, apart for just wanting to meet the challenge, is one-time "S" reward you get for doing it.
  8. Anyone know of a way to get the practice app spoken of in the OP (link in the OP is dead)? It's a bit of a bitch to try and get a hang of the hard difficulty when it is also the highest cost.
  9. I just started the game based on all the talk about it on here, literally just completed the tutorial. My code is 555808118. I might see about adding people myself once I've gotten a handle on how the game works.

  12. Well that's if they release HL3 immediately after source 2 like they did for source/HL2. They might just be releasing to remain a viable competitor to Unity 5 and the new Unreal Engine versions.
  13. I wouldn't at all say it ruined the VN for me, as 'Kira Kira' is one of my most nostalgic VNs, but Kirari's routes out of nowhere get considerably darker than any other portion of the game. 'Wanko to Kurasou' managed to be the most hilarious VN read I have ever had for about the first half, but it ultimately devolves into endless ero-scenes and sloppy romance. After joining, I was surprised by the number of people on here who talk like Little Busters is the best thing ever. Wasn't ever a particularly memorable game for me.
  14. Tip #3: Don't look at porn in public places. I am surprised by the number of stories in which the poster was just asking to create a situation that was awkward for everyone involved. Not really

They get a solid 6/10. Neither Key nor Type-Moon are particularly noteworthy developers in my book, but I voted for Type-Moon in the poll.
  16. You can go a lot of different ways with fantasy/Sci-fi, would be better if you gave specifics as to what type of fantasy/sci-fi you were looking for. The list would be too long trying to describe all the good VN in these general terms, so I'll just give some medieval fantasy suggestions and let other people cover the other areas. Pretty much every great translated medieval fantasy VN has gameplay mixed in. Kamidori's main draw is the gameplay. It's still a fun VN, but if you're wanting to play a TBS for the story, then Tears To Tiara would be my first suggestion with Utawarerumono following in a close second. Alicesoft titles are pretty much the tops for fantasy worldbuilding, but they are all very gameplay heavy and they are known for comedic rape in their H-scenes. Duel Savior and Brave Soul are both more standard RPGs with animu plots/characters. Neither would be my first suggestion for story, but Duel Savior is the better choice on that front. LittleWitch Romanesque has a lot of fantasy to it, but a rather strange dice rolling gameplay. Koihime Musou's gameplay is simple but difficult to describe. It's another option.
  17. Seriously, why? How do you even come in here and first post on the forums is to revive a long-dead thread. I was about to start writing up the proper list of gameplay-driven VNs that this thread never got and make some comments about how weird people's definitions of "gameplay" were until I saw how old this thread was.

  19. Guys it has nothing to do with the quality of your vision, just how you naturally build a context for the lighting. The image's lighting is strange, which leads to people interpreting it differently based on how they are used to reading lighting. People speculate that the difference arises between people used to seeing things under light (white/gold) and people used to seeing things in the dark(blue/black).
