In response to the arguing about the "correct" usage of "loli" and this silly concept of a "modern loli", i'd say both are acceptable usages of a slang term, just from opposite sides of the fence. Lolicon was coined as a derogatory term for sure, and thus it is viable to use "loli" in a derogatory light as a pre-pubescent girl who is being sexuallized in a work of fiction. A bad thing. But lolicon culture has grown to a good portion of otaku culture and wears the term as a badge of honor. In this sense it is viable for a lolicon to use "loli" to describe a pre-pubescent girl (hopefully in a work of fiction) that they feel sexually attracted to. Kinda creepy when you think about it but it is done and not something people generally freak out about in otaku communities Then you've got the weeaboo sect of western otaku culture who see someone use "loli" to describe an underage girl and start using it to describe any underage girl without giving a shit as to why they should use it instead of works like "child". This has no connection to the origin of the term and is a pretty common thing to happen with any word.

I am Matthew Mcconaughey, traveler of black holes. I star in silly scifi movies.

Yeah, that seems pretty applicable.

Sounds like something that'll grab some money off would-be content creators who either don't know about renpy or are two scared of scripting to give something as simple as renpy a chance. They either put out silly content or realize it is too limited to do anything they'd like and either give up on developing again or make the jump to a more proper engine.

Sounds interesting, but I don't think the tag "Visual Novel" fits for the game you're describing, more just an open-world RPG without leveling or combat. If your teammates are all interested in making such a niche game, then it is fine. As far as I understood, your game is just walking and talking through a variety of locations, no combat or anything. Might want to balance the workload a bit depending on your team compositions. If you don't have a lot of artists, then creating assets for 9 vastly different zones might be a bit stressful. If you have a few programmers, then just having them do basic engine stuff (Which they might not even have to if you guys are supposed to be using an engine) and gameplay that is little more than menus/dialogue would not be a good display of their skills. It's a school project, you want to display your skills properly while not overworking yourselves. Also, open-world does not have to mean cell-based. All the added nonsense of a cell-based architecture doesn't even seem to fit with the game you are describing, when you could just as easily have passageways connecting your zones.

A noteworthy Adam Sandler movie? If it's a happy madison production i have no doubt it will be crap, no matter the premise.

New Windows versions have compatibility mode included. Even if such issues were a result of being incompatible with the OS, running it in compatibility mode would do just as much good as creating an entire VM just to play it, with a hell of a lot hassle and wasted disk space. VMs have many uses and if you like using them that is fine, but if you are solely using it as a workaround for incompatibility, it might not be your best option.

It depends on what you are looking for, there are a lot of different ways you can go with this vague of a starting point. Whether you were interested in romance, or adventure, or gameplay ect. would change my suggestion. There are a lot more games that use this trope in many genres (for both protag and heroines), I suggested two fantasy VNs because that seemed to me most likely what you were looking for since you mentioned "Game worlds". If fantasy is what you are looking for, then Kiohime Musou if you're interested in a war story based off the romance of three kingdoms or Duel Savior if you are looking for more standard fantasy adventuring. It's fine. Standard animu fantasy plot and character with pretty good gameplay. Wouldn't top my list anywhere, apart for maybe this thread, as I was never too into Eien no Aselia.

I'm gonna have to decide when it comes out. Not sure if I want to waste as much time as I know I will fucking around in GTA multiplayer again

It's sad because back in the days before they decided to to take the no-effort route of pandering to kids and selling out wherever they could, they actually were funny. Simon used to be hilarious, he was the reason for much of their initial rise to popularity and invented many of the popular minecraft memes. Their original minecraft LP, where they RP'd and had other yogscast members (Before the others were even LPing) playing NPCs in their world, was epic... until they killed it. Their podcast remains to be one of the funniest ones in my memory; it was hilarious every episode... until they killed it. Unsubbed shortly after they started following the dirty path. Followed Hat Films and Sips for a while, because I liked to mindlessly watch Gmod games sometimes, but unsubbed to them a few months back as I wanted to stop wasting so much of my time watching such things. I don't have any real LP suggestions as I unsubbed from most everything (apart for a few who I don't watch but remain subbed to for honor's sake) to get out of that scene. For twitch theres MANvsGame and Ezekiel_III. If you like speedrunning then there's Elajjaz and firedragon764. I mainly just watch them and whoever they host.

If by "same quality" you mean "has voice acting" then no, otherwise you can find plenty of games with about as much content and gameplay marked as "dating sims" on newgrounds or any other flash-game site.

The only Japanese light novels I've bothered to read would be the Spice and Wolf series. Most are officially localized.

Favorite monster would be the aliens from 'Pitch Black', I've always found the concept of a highly mobile predator which uses creepy sounding echolocation to move around to be cool. But since this thread seems to be more about monster girls than actual monsters, gotta have dem slime girls!

I'm at a lost for words... (HuniePop discussion)

I'm a bit confused as to why this thread is still so lively. How people keep a game with so little content on their minds to converse about I'll never know.
