Translated? Sengoku Rance aside, Daibanchou is pretty fun, though it's not a sengoku thing. It's still all about conquering japan, though. Utawarerumono would be my highest suggestion.

Sorry, the only heroines I really like are the servant types, and Kagome goes directly against that. To put it in perspective, this game does have a character which would be the perfect heroine to me, Yoruko. If you played as Gasai, anyway.

Benio sucks, and it affects her route. It doesn't matter if the writers decided to make her a character like that on purpose... They could have pushed something better. Her route is ok in the end, while it could have been good. I have no idea why they decided to push the weakest non-ayaya route on the player first. Would have led to my favorite moment in the game if there was a "screw you and your justice, Benio. Leave me alone" option somewhere in that path. Hisoka also sucks, and it doesn't affect her route. That's how sucky heroines should be, people. Ayaya depends on your tastes. I like the shy type of kouhai, so I disliked her. Still, her route has more value than people make it out to have. You can just skip the sex scenes for some comedy gold and Mayuki-sensei lessons. Mayuki is a nice heroine. Her route is significantly brighter than the rest of the VN, and I thought it was boring at points, but still, a solid route. Whether it is better than Hisoka is all up to your tastes. I also disliked Kagome... But her route is great. Definitely the best in the game, with none of the others getting even close to it. Even with me disliking most of the heroines, I still really enjoyed this VN. That says something about the quality of the work.

I actually do. Don't get me wrong, I wish for a good title and I want it to succeed... I just think that, with their first game, that's very unlikely.

^My best efforts at being objective and at describing things. Also a prime example as for why I never do it. What? But rewrite is not worth mentioning at all without the Terra route. It's where all the amazingness happens As someone who hated the common route with passion, I would say it's still worth a read for what comes afterwards. Would somewhat compare it to Muv-Luv, with the first game being about as awful and boring as it gets and Alternative being amazing. Of course, I wouldn't compare the Moon/Terra routes with MLA in terms of quality, but you get the gist of it.

Suzu serves a role that appears in several VNs I've read in the past, of the girl whose heart is so close to the protagonist that she doesn't even leave his side when he chooses someone else. It probably isn't a coincidence that all of those had true ends and were overall awesome games as a whole (Comyu's Kagome being one of those). That said, one thing I absolutely adore about Propeller's four great games (or the プロペラ四天王 as I like to call them) is that all of them have paths that basically transcend their heroines, regardless of heroine quality. Yes, I love the characters in Propeller games... but the path quality in Ayakashibito, Bullet Butlers, Evolimit, and Tokyo Babel inevitably surpasses that of the heroines they are based around. That isn't to say the heroines are poor quality (though there is usually at least one heroine I hate or am unenthusiastic about in each... like the elf in Bullet Butlers and Touka in this one)... it is simply that their paths are so good, heroine quality's relevance is a lot less than you'd expect, lol. Kaoru's path is good, Kaoru herself sucks. Not because of those reasons, I just have some fundamental issues with her (and touko's) personality. Aside from Suzu, I do think all heroines are indeed lackluster. But that's fine. You don't read Ayakashibito for it's heroines, you read it for the story... Which is great, to me~

It kinda suffers from the LB problem where absolutely nothing happens in the common route... Except Rewrite's common route is huge. All of the heroine routes are better than LB's, and the game shines in the Moon and Terra routes. The characters aren't reeeally inconsistent, you just know barely nothing about them. Their reasons and behavior is explained in their own routes. Yoshino's behavior is explained in the Moon route, if you don't realize it sooner, lol. Yes, things will happen. Lots and lots of them. Might not be your cup of tea, though.

Most competitive character deck is probably Yusei's, though he does have a bunch of garbage there like everyone else... To be fair, I have no idea what anyone from the new series is playing, so there might be something better.
