  1. My anime scheduling has failed miserably, I don't think I've properly watched anything in a month. (Except Owarimonogatari) I'm still at Ep. 4 in Perfect Insider, so I think I'll just marathon it when the final episode airs. I really liked the beginning, I wonder how the rest the show goes. I also watched the first few episodes of Karin, but I haven't really formed an opinion yet as they were pretty weird.
  2. Yeah GG Xrd on PC is pretty hype. And so pretty... XX #Reload used to be my favorite fighting game, but I think Xrd is taking it's place now. I tried my hand at playing Millia, my old favorite, but she's little too execution heavy and squishy for me, so I got bodied pretty hard online. Might try Elphelt next, she looks pretty dope with the shotgun and grenade oki. But yeah, Xrd doesn't have nearly enough female characters, can't wait for Revelator.
  3. Wow, all that Nep-Nep! But it's a pretty solid library, I can vouch for almost all of those games. Vita has so many fun games! I liked the first XBlaze VN. It's not amazing, but it has pretty impressive visuals and it's quite entertaining. Out of curiosity I actually compiled a list of all the Vita games I have, feel free to judge my tastes. (And my dedication) Bolded titles are games I can wholeheartedly recommend, the ones I loved the most, if anyone is curious.
  4. Writhe in Pain, Oh The Lily of Steel.

  5. I've been playing Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance while taking breaks from Clannad. It's pretty damn fun game, I've enjoyed the good challenge Hard-mode has provided and the gameplay just feels so good. The controls are so fluid and precise, after I got used to the parry-system it just feels so satisfying to play something knowing that the mistakes you make are 100% your fault and not because of sloppy controls. Not to mention the bosses being super bad ass, music being awesome and even the Codec conversations are pretty interesting. It's truly fun game. Not only is MGR:R my first spectacle fighter or whatever, it's also my first Metal Gear game and I like it way more than I thought I would. I'm little curious now about trying MGS-games, since the setting seems cool, but because I suck a stealth games and I don't have a console to play them that might not happen in a while.
  6. I'm now done with all the main routes, only after story awaits. The feeling I have why people don't seem to like the routes in Clannad is because they don't really work in the way routes usually work in "standard" romance vn. The routes in Clannad don't really revolve around the Tomoya's and someone's relationship, but rather each route has it own theme that is the main focus, the characters and relationships are just one of the tools to represent it. That's why Yukine's route might feel unsatisfying if you just think about it as a romance between Tomoya and Yukine, but I personally found the whole route and the message behind it very heartwarming and satisfying. Sometimes it's better to appreciate things as they are and not get too upset when they don't fit your expectations. That said, some of routes definitely drag too long, some are really dependent on whether you happen to like the character or not, i.e. Fuko or Tomoyo, and some are more shallow with their presentation. It's definitely not perfect, but all the routes have their own strong points and I haven't been disappointed in any of them. Also as a bonus, after you've read Kotomi's route, go and read "The Dandelion Girl"; the short story they keep referencing. Not only is it pretty interesting story on it's own, it also gives some nice perspective on Kotomi's route.
  7. I don't know, Sunohara is actually pretty annoying character. Sure, the comedy with him and Tomoya is pretty entertaining and he is pretty vital to the story. But in some routes he really outstays his welcome and comes out as an annoying jerk that just makes things worse most of the time. And then he randomly turns into a good guy when the story needs it, in ways that contradict his previous actions. I'm pretty conflicted how I feel about him. Other than that, Clannad has been a pretty good experience, I can totally see why it's so loved. I liked every route so far, some way more than others, but none of them has felt bothersome to read. Few of them dragged for little too long like Kyou&Ryou's and Kotomi's, but that was just minor annoyance. I still have Fuuko, old man and Nagisa + After Story to do.
  8. Slow down, I needed some time to think. As much as I want to recommend Amagami, the most vanilla romance there is, I'm not because I've seen it so many times. Instead, my recommendation this time is KareKano
  9. Whoops, missed the poll. I hope you all enjoy Doki☆Doki romance
  10. I've only played the Normal Deception IV, and liked. It's really satisfying to set up trap combos, theory craft new ones and watching the poor soldiers suffer in goofy ways. Some bosses can be annoying since they have tendency to avoid your traps and require really specific set-ups. Sometimes this works really well, sometimes it devolves in to repeating same gimmick over and over, and whittling the boss down. The Nightmare Princess adds tons of new traps and locations to spice up the gameplay, but more importantly the new character can attack enemies by kicking them into traps. In normal Deception IV you can only run away from enemies and luring them into your traps which felt sometimes kind of passive, but the kicking fixes that a little. Overall, it's pretty fun Action Puzzle game. Using stationary traps as your sole means of offense is pretty unique and strangely addicting.
  11. Guided by my dream and my curiosity I decided to pick up Clannad and find out why it's consider so influential. I'm few routes in (Misae, Kyou, Yukine and Kotomi) and quite liking it. So far my favorite route has been Yukine's.
  12. It kinda depends on what kind of games you like. If you like JRPGs and the like, totally. If you don't, then not really. Just look through this and make your own conclusions: http://i.imgur.com/iAXpm1n.jpg Most of the new stuff coming out is japanese games, and I don't see that stopping in a while. In fact it feels like there's more of them coming out every year, so I'm not too worried about the future of vita for next few years.
  13. Now that's some unusual tastes. Marie is consider to be the worst girl by many, although mostly by old Persona 4 fans who are upset that Golden is Vita exclusive and Marie being extra character that doesn't exist in the original. I personally really liked Marie, and Margaret is just awesome like all the Velvet room residents. Well, all the girls in P4 are pretty great, you can't really go wrong with any of them.
  14. Confession: I saw a really touching dream last night and woke up with tears in my eyes. I feel like it was my unconscious criticizing me for not reading any tearjerkers lately and trying to guide back to the path of feels. Or maybe it was some kind of message encouraging me to get Clannad.
  15. I think you should. Hard mode is completely pointless on first playthrough and you will get wrecked by certain bosses even on normal. (more so if you don't really know what to do) Persona games are super replayable anyways, first playthough is more about learning how the game works and just doing things as you like. Hard is better choice for subsequent playthroughs when you know which personas work against which bosses and how to properly manage your time. Unless you use a guide, but that's no fun. The first playthrough is always the most memorable and it's better to stumble through it blindly.
  16. Hey it's Gust music, it's good quality and there's lots of it. I actually went and played a little Ayesha again, after hearing you hyping it, and in order to fill the void that Trails in the Sky SC left. I definitely prefer it over the Arland ones; it's as cutesy, but the little sorrowful atmosphere fits me much better. Odelia is my fav (robot girls <3), but after that all the female party members are great. (Sorry Juris) Bell especially has way too adorable voice and mannerisms, and goes so well with Ayesha. Now, if only she was any good in fights... Ayesha also gives me some serious F/SN flashbacks, since voice actors of Kotomine, Emiya and Tohsaka are all there and even the characters they play somewhat resemble their F/SN counterparts.
  17. Well shit, Trails in the Sky SC was really amazing! Definitely one of the best games I've played this year. Great story, high tension form beginning to the end, amazing characters, satisfying battle system, awesome music and utterly epic confrontations. The main story line pure pleasure whole way through. There are also all kinds of neat things on the side if you take your time to look around, small details that make the world feel so lively. Like NPCs worrying about the future, discuss politics and comment current happenings in the game and even getting married.
  18. Trails in the Sky SC or Ar nosurge Plus Witcher 3 was nice too, but not nearly as an unforgettable experience as the other two.
  19. Woah, that poll was fast! My recommendation is Sakamichi no Apollon, and excellent period drama with Jazz. Also going back to Shiki a little.
  20. Finally finished Blood Drive. (I blame Trails in the Sky SC, real life and swinging blades in chapter 9)
  21. I haven't been this hyped for a VN release since Steins;Gate. Christmas is going to be awesome. Now just I need to put some effort in finishing Shiei no Sona-Nyl before that.
  22. Steins;Gate articles on siliconera got me super hyped for the JAST Steins;Gate release and after reading that I knew I had found an amazing new hobby. Although I had read Katawa Shoujo, Corpse Party, Virtue's Last Reward and Danganronpa before, but I didn't differentiate them from videogames back then.
  23. Trails in the Sky Second Chapter! I didn't have to wait for this for 4 years, but I was pretty exited for it nonetheless. And I think a game does a pretty good job at setting itself up when the first few minutes of the game make you look back at the previous game and can't help but feel little touched. It's super charming like FC, and I'm looking forward what the adventures in grander scheme will bring out.
