  1. This is an enthusiastic reply which doesn't add any substantial value to the originally-quoted comment. This is an explanation that the two are related, but it is so poorly-written that it only makes sense to the original poster.
  2. This is the description of a forum game.
  3. The very idea of Sion putting on a Santa beard and hat is adorable. 8/10
  4. I'm totally going to tell your wife you said that. There should probably be some rule like "minimum five heroines". Also, I hereby christen this the "Best Worst Girl" competition. Anyway, after applying that rule myself and carefully looking through my VNDB, although G-Senjou was a very strong contender in this contest, I landed on Rewrite as the game I've played with Best Worst Girl, leaving me stuck with: Pros: I actually do find the clumsy thing cute; I like redheads; worst-case scenario, deploy the Chihaya Beam. Cons: Sakuya probably wouldn't approve of me; she's got a pretty boring personality
  5. No one will be surprised to hear, but the re-launched campaign just hit 100% funded on their $80k goal. We'll see if they make the stretch goals now, I suppose, but I don't think I'm especially interested in any of them, so it's all the same to me. I'm rather looking forward to this one, since I never played the old release (and certainly have no intention to do so now). On the one hand, August 2017 is a long way off still, but it's not a ton of time on the scale of VN localization; sounds like a tough but achievable goal.
  6. Don't recognize the sauce, but it's cute as a button. Maybe even cuter. 9/10
  7. All ready resuscitated mine from last year, champ.
  8. I should probably have qualified when I listed it being a sequel as a con, but I thought it would be understood: it's obviously a con if you thought maybe you'd just play this game without playing the one before. I don't consider something being a sequel, in and of itself, to be a negative. As far as those earlier quotations, I think they're bogus, but similarly, that's not something I would (or did) fault the game for, just a point of criticism against the person who said it, who probably was a little too defensive in answering the question.
  9. In the anime, he's full of personality and I find him really likeable, but in the VN, since the player is making all the decisions and since you hardly see his face, he comes off as not having much of a personality, at least to me. I can appreciate most any protagonist with a sprite. If they don't get a sprite, I generally don't think of them much at all. Akihito from Comyu and Gii from Sekien no Inganock were both interesting to me, but probably largely because they had sprites (even though Akihito's wasn't used all the time, by a long shot). I also rather like Daijuuji Kurou from Demonbane... can't remember if he gets a sprite or not (I don't think he does), but they're not shy about showing him in CGs, at least, which is almost as good. When they make the protag faceless even in CGs, I can't help but roll my eyes.
  10. But I own that Bad Religion album and I think two more, and I rather like Husker Du, and I think The Clash's London Calling is fantastic and Sandinista is fascinating. I actually like (good) punk music. It just doesn't sound much like the music you're talking about, IMO.
  11. Yeah, that sound is coming from the bands, not from someone at the top like Jun Maeda. It's also not very punk, IMO. I'm by no means an expert on musical genre, but the lead guitars especially are much more rock than punk, I think. Incidentally, if you listen to Hikarisyuyo's solo work (he recorded some/all of the music for GlDeMo, and some other Key tracks, though not Philosophyz), you'll find it sounds basically exactly like GlDeMo, except with vocaloids instead of actual singers (unfortunate... which is why I tend to really like the one instrumental track he puts on each album), and with a little more variety: https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=ntt_srch_drd_B003U3LEJU?ie=UTF8&field-keywords=Hikarisyuyo&index=digital-music&search-type=ss
  12. False. Next person is wearing multi-colored socks.
  13. Flowers: Printemps has, if I just counted my walkthrough correctly, 63 choices, of which you must make ~60 correct (most give you points; some go to immediate bad ends) in order to get either of the two non-bad endings. Couple that with the fact that it never explains that there's subtle but visible feedback for your choices, let alone how to interpret it, and that it takes some time to notice it, and then even more time to be able to start reasoning about it after you notice it, and I guarantee you're getting bad ends (probably multiple of them, including of course the final one) on your first time through. Now, once you finish that playthrough, if you're not an idiot you'll have figured out the feedback and can just save scum your way through all 63 choices to reach the ending you want. Because while some are obvious, not all of them are, and you need so close to all of them correct that all those non-obvious ones need to be right too. Joy! Who doesn't love save scumming? And that's why I made a walkthrough for Flowers: Printemps.
  14. Fair. FWIW, it's not like I'm docking it a lot of meaningful mental points - it's now one of three games I've given a 10/10 on VNDB (along with the original Steins;Gate... and Little Busters!, don't judge me).
  15. Obviously those are all completely necessary, Duh*. *An expression used to show that a statement is self-evident and obvious. Has been in common use for hundreds of years.
  16. It's new to me Anyway, there's no time for goofing around like this. I must scour the internet for Maho fanart.
  17. http://fuwanovel.net/reviews/2016/11/29/steinsgate-0/ It's amazing. Why are you even reading this? You should be reading Steins;Gate 0 right now.
  18. Probably true. Next person is improbably happy.
  19. And on that note, it's about time for me to go to work for the first time in a week and a half
  20. You know, I did once see someone complaining about how the change in the music in Persona 3 and 4, versus Persona 2, ruined the games for them. Given how awesome Shoji Meguro's music for P3 and P4 is, I decided they were crazy and moved on without commenting. So... true, I guess? Next person eats cereal for breakfast.
  21. Oh yeah... That's what people do when they have time... Okay, time to dive back into Koihime Musou!
  22. Confession: I've spent nearly every waking hour for the past four days playing a VN for a review, and now that I'm done with the review, since I've been playing with such single-minded focus, now I don't know what to do with myself. I've been just puttering around my apartment ineffectually for the last hour or so. I'm installing Muv Luv and the 18+ patch, for no perceptible reason given that there's no way I'm going to play it any time soon. Help me: I don't know what to do with myself for the rest of the day. My only salvation is that I have to go back to work tomorrow morning. Hopefully that'll get me back on a regular schedule...
