  1. VNDB link? Because between Riki and Kurugaya, I was inclined to say "Little Busters!" and leave it at that, until you mentioned Kurugaya at the end there. At any rate, if you haven't played it, take a look at Tamaki's route in To Heart 2. Tama-nee (the protag even calls her Tama-nee) fits what you're looking for to a T. The protag (Takaaki) is not what you'd call strong, and especially throughout her route is basically clay in her hands.
  2. A valid point. Anybody actually playing it? I know we have a few people around who played it un-TLed, but I'm curious to hear what people are saying about the MG release. All I've seen so far is judgements about the quality of its uncensored genitalia, which frankly is not the deciding factor for me, even for a nukige.
  3. Just throwing this out there, but if it's an option, I'd encourage you to get that Steam copy of Steins;Gate refunded and buy the JAST USA release instead. I've seen a lot of gripes with the Steam release in the short time it's out: bugs added back into the game that were fixed, bad line breaks, incorrect TL of phone buttons, and a horrible font choice. The only thing it's got going for it, the higher resolution, is apparently just an upscale of the original graphics (i.e., they didn't have higher-resolution originals to pull from), so it's not actually any better. It's not gonna be terrible, by any means. It's still the same fantastic game and the same great translation (aside from the phone menus, like I mentioned above...). But the JAST USA release is apparently straight-up better. Oh, and, FWIW, while Flowers is a solid VN if you're up for a nice melodrama, Steins;Gate is an unbelievably good VN, and I'd prioritize it way higher than playing Flowers, even if you've already seen the S;G anime.
  4. Happy 20th birthday, Funya. It seems like just a few minutes ago that you were only 16.
  5. Well, I'm not married, so usually I have to say "Please bang my girlfriend." This is way catchier.
  6. After a very long hiatus, I got back into Tales of Zestiria. I just now got to the big, completely unsurprising reveal of Rose (seriously, I figured that out at her second appearance, and I'm dense as a stone when it comes to these kinds of things), and I couldn't be happier about it. Anybody who's upset about trading Alicia out for Rose has even shittier taste than I do. TBH, I don't get why this game didn't get a warmer reception. I'm enjoying it quite a bit, certainly more than either Xillia game. It's a Tales game; they're never great. But they're usually pretty good, and this one is no exception.
  7. I thought you could play P3FES on the Vita, but I must have been mistaken. It looks like you can play it on a PS2, but also through PlayStation store on a PS3, in case that's an option for you. While I can understand why you're calling P3P "terrible", it's actually not so clear-cut; I actually see more people preferring it than preferring vanilla or FES. There's a couple reasons for that: The combat is vastly more playable in P3P vs. the other two versions, since you can control all the characters, rather than the AI controlling all your allies and being extremely sub-optimal. The optional FMC path is, in a lot of ways, a whole different story. Some events are completely different, and the social links play out very, very differently (including some social links being swapped out for others). FWIW, I only played P3P, but I loved it, probably more than P4G. It's got a very different tone, and it's a perfect game to play after you finish P4G, IMO. Yes, if you play P3P, you'll lose the polygon graphics, and you don't even get to run around the scenery and whatnot. But in fairness, the sprites they put for all the conversations look pretty good. I think the graphics are the only con, whereas to compensate you get those very substantial pros I listed above. I guess P3FES also has the extra post-game episode, The Answer, but from what I understand, that's a huge grindfest with very little payout - you're almost certainly better off reading a summary of it than actually playing it (I was pretty satisfied after reading the Wikipedia summary of it, at least, and I'm a contender for world's biggest Aigis fanboy). As far as P5 on the Vita... I wouldn't hold my breath. I guess it's possible, but the Vita's not exactly platform of choice right now for anybody (except otome games, I guess?), so even if it does happen, it probably won't be for a few years.
  8. It was Please Bang My Wife. And, yes, I'm taking every opportunity I can to repeat it.
  9. False. I did just get back from vacation a couple days ago, but even that was still inside the country... barely. Next person went back to school recently and is already tired of it.
  10. Funny, because I also didn't know what Atelier Sakura was, and I was half-expecting that MangaGamer was getting involved in localizing Gust's Atelier game series.
  11. That title is a winner for sure.
  12. I'm still game to edit this.
  13. Thanks, that explains a lot. What would be a good entry to try to get into the series, ideally one with a more legit story? I admit I mostly picked this one up because it was available on a console; I really prefer gaming there, if possible, over the PC (yeah, yeah, I know).
  14. I get this all the damn time. Always three cents. Until this week, when my new Touhou LE came in, and it was $10 saved; non-trivial amount of money, get! I really need to start playing the Trails games at some point, huh...
  15. It's been a while since I last made a concerted effort to raise my weeb level, so I thought I should try to get into this whole Touhou thing. I picked up the just-localized Touhou Genso Rondo: Bullet Ballet, and played it a bit this morning (watched the tutorial, and then took Reimu through Story mode). I was honestly kind of disappointed that I beat Story Mode without losing a set, seeing as I literally never play shooters, but whatever; I don't mind things being not super difficult, and I was really, really close to losing both of the last two sets anyway (I actually made a pretty big comeback while on my Extend, or however you call it when you're down to where one hit will kill you), so it's not like it was actually easy. It was kind of fun, I guess? The gameplay was all right, but I don't think I could see myself really enjoying spending a whole ton of time with it, unless there's a substantially higher level than the last boss of that Story Mode I just finished (and some reward, ideally story-related, for achieving that higher level). People often talk about these games like they have an interesting story, but the one in Reimu's "story mode" was about as weak as they come. I'm not trying to diss it or anything, by the way; just wondering what I'm missing here.
  16. It's more of a melodrama than a romance. I recommend it, assuming you enjoy a good melodrama.
  17. ki is literally the easiest hiragana: it looks like a key.
  18. Welcome to the fold Playing KoiRizo still. On Sango's route first, because genki redheads (or I guess pink in this case, whatever) are my bag. My expectations were pretty low going into this game, but the game has defied my expectations by being decent. As anticipated, once you land in a route there's a whole lot of H, for better or worse. And the route drama does feel a little heavy-handed. I think I had more fun with the common route, than I'm having with the character route so far, despite being quite fond of this character, which has me a bit worried about the other routes, but I'll persevere. I'm definitely curious to see what this route's resolution looks like.
  19. As this thread, which should properly be titled "Making Shit Up", continues, since we now have some factual inaccuracy to go along with our baseless theorizing, I'm just jumping in here to correct the former. As you can see from their wikipedia page if you take the trouble to count, Sekai Project has published 64 games: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sekai_Project#Published_games As you can see from their Kickstarter created page, Sekai Project has created 12 Kickstarters, of which 11 were for games, not all of which are included in the above tally of 64 games because one failed and some are not completed yet, and two of which (WEE and Grisaia) are counted twice in the above since they subsumed multiple releases: https://www.kickstarter.com/profile/sekaiproject/created Carry on making shit up, but please do try to restrain yourself to wild hypotheses about companies' and people's motives and their NDA-covered contractual obligations, rather than about easily verifiable matters of fact.
  20. TG I'm on vacation.
  21. Incidentally... @bronx819 was looking to put together a TL project for TenkiAme off and on, but it was mostly lacking a translator, and I offered to join in on editing since it looks relevant to my interests (I'm editing Majo Koi Nikki at the moment, but I think I can handle two things). I saw you just posted over in the "Fan TL Registration" thread, so just throwing that out there.
  22. I saw only this message out of context, and thought "Wow, sasuga Flutterz, really putting it out there." Stay safe, Valmore.
  23. Karakara is short, sweet, and complete. Great read.
  24. An email went out to people (maybe backers of the old project?) today saying a few interesting things: The recreated Kickstarter will have a lower target. They've finalized some new rewards they'll be adding to the new Kickstarter, including a Vita release and dakimakura covers They're aiming for a mid-September (!) release. The last one is, of course, both the most interesting and the most surprising. Full post is here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tokyootakumode/sharin-no-kuni-a-visual-novel-localization-project/posts/1669829. At any rate, looks like an official Sharin release might be just around the corner. Edit: As others pointed out below, and as I realized while reading the comments on Twitter, I misread the announcement pretty hard: they're planning on launching the Kickstarter in mid-September, not the game. T_T
  25. Chill, dude. He literally asked a question. Not seeing a whole lot of uncontrollable red-faced foot-stamping here, except from you.
