In theory you are correct, however in practice it falls apart. There is a reason that VN adaptations are blander than a bowel of grits. The author never intended for certain heroines to end up with the protagonist, so once one of these plops out they have to torture the poor source material to fit into the mold. The original structured plot, with all the twists and turns that made the source material interesting, gets torn out and replaced with something easily malleable to fit the possibilities of the protagonist ending up with the other heroines. Which usually ends up being pretty boring, because why come up with new interesting plots when people are going to buy it for the waifus anyways? I would personally just wait for the doujins to come out, it's cheaper, you don't get bored out of your skull, and there will be actual boneing at the end of it. Although this entire discussion is probably mute as I bet this will be a vita exclusive, which has zero chance of being localized in the west.

Ok, first off I know that there are several tools you should buy to break out the parts from the plastics and sand down the nubs left behind. - Wire Side Cutters - X Acto Knife - Sand Paper My first question is what type of sand paper (grain size?) would be best for someone with notoriously bad motor control. Now for my biggest difficulty, the paints. Does the percentages mean I have to mix several different colors to get the desired one? If so, is there a measuring device for small amounts of paint? What sort of paint brushes would you recommend? I'm trying to watch AJIN Demi-Human, also known as totally not Tokyo Ghoul, but GOD FUCKING DAMN IT is it pissing me off. If this took place in any realistic universe the government would pay top dollar to hire them as military superheros and they would be worshiped as celebrities by the public. There is absolutely zero reason for them to be hated, since the only thing that is largely known about them is they are identical to humans.... except they come back to life after they are killed. At least Tokyo Ghoul had the excuse that, you know, they ate people. I can understand why the population would fear and shun them.

I get the feeling e2gaming will be a major source of entertainment to come...... just not through their localizations.

My family was the product of a string of "accidents", my Dad was the product of a known ladykiller who slept all around Korea and my immediate family was the product of another accident, myself. If it were not for my existence, my family (including my two younger sisters) would not exist. From what I understand about my parents relationship before I was born they were headed towards and eventual separation. However, when my father knocked up my mother he did the "responsible" thing and married my mother, because he always hated his dad for knocking up his mom and leaving them to live in poverty. Needless to say my father was not a emotionally stable person and much of my childhood is filled with memories of yelling, holes appearing in the walls, welts on my ass, and a little animal abuse. So I completely understand that I am a bit biased when I state that I believe that romantic "love" is a fictional concept. I believe in friendship, I believe in lust, and I believe in Stockholm Syndrome. The mixture of these three are what produces the fiction of romantic love. Sure there were two gals I believed that I was in "love" with, however each time was during my high school years (the pinnacle of our horniest of years) and they were the only people of the opposite sex (aside from family members) that I spent any meaningful time with. Love is an excellent storytelling device, but nothing more or less.

When has the point of something ever stopped people from exploiting "the something" for their own personal gain? I don't necessarily know that they have enough money to fund 4-6 visual novels (at least very meaty ones), I'm no expert with how much these projects cost, but I do know that licensing fees and paying for the rights of voice actors/actresses are fucking insane. Jast has stated that purchasing those rights is one of the biggest hurdles on the road to localizing a title. I'm curious about the marketing this title will have, I think the biggest VN marketing campaign was for Steins;Gate.

I use to think the way you do, but it makes zero sense from a business prospective. The only vns that are guaranteed to have a following in the west are obviously the ones that are already translated. Do you honestly think that a relatively unknown vn would make the same money as MuvLuv or Grisaia on kickstarter? Granted many would probably succeed, but why take that risk when you have a guaranteed payday with a larger title. There are obviously some other factors that you should consider the successes of these kickstarters can influence what future projects are localized. VN companies may use them to gauge the level of interest the west has for visual novels in general. For example, due to the massive success of the MuvLuv kickstarter it has been strongly hinted that other titles such as Schwarzesmarken will be localized in the future.

The ending wouldn't have to be bad to be good in this case though, the daughter could have still gotten sick threatening Tomoya to his emotional limit but than he works through this tough time with the help of his old friends. I was also kinda crossing my fingers that he would get in a romantic relationship with Kyou in the after-story. The message that life is tough and keeps trying to fuck you over, but you can survive it by facing it head on with the help of your friends and loved ones, is allot more stronger than a shallow fairy tale good ending (that kinda retcons the entire afterstory if you think about it).

Wow I thought most people thought the anime was better, well color me better informed. To be honest I found most of VN to be pretty dull, sure the after story was excellent (till that fucking pissing in my cornflakes ending) and there were a handful of routes that I genuinely felt were good, but for the most part I felt that allot of it was there to pad out the play time or the content was just plain insipid.
