  1. What a bizarre marketing experiment, Jast..... is this really the hill you want to die on? It just really seems like a vestigial feature in a game in which I really doubt many people would care about an addition of an English dub. The only people who would bother with the Sonico game would be pretty high level nerdy ottaku people, who would prefer the Japanese voice acting. Now, if it was something like Steins;Gate that has a substantial western following and has an excellent dub cast (for the anime) it would make more sense. Than again that would be a substantial investment and cost waay too much. In the end I just see this as a pointless exercise. Someone in the higher ups wanted to make a cold calculated experiment without any risk, completely failing to realize that in this particular experiment no risk = no reward. Sidenote: In a gimmicky game like this, that relies heavily on the "moe" factor, taking out voice acting would pretty much rip out 60% of its' worth. There is no "story" to be found here.
  2. What?! They censored Antichrist?!?! I want to see what fucking family brings the childrens to watch Willem Dafoe get his dick chopped off.
  3. I actually tried watching this vid, couldn't make it to the end..... the cringe was real. I still think that this is completely ridiculous, no one in their right mind would ever consider a "dating sim" to contain any decent info on dating in real life. It's kinda like saying that I'm now ready to fight in the middle east because I played several matches of a FPS or that I can run a farm because I made a hundred grand in stardew valley. Sure it may give a VASTLY general idea about the subject, but I wouldn't want to be operated on by a brain surgeon that only knows that the brain is located in the skull and nothing else about the organ.
  4. I just found out they are making another season of FLCL, and being a huge fan of the first season I don't really care too much for this. I usually don't like anime that emphasizes its' "message" over the "plot", but FLCL is one of the few examples that I give a pass to. Giving it a sequel kinda kills the entire point of the message. I'll reserve judgement, but this really feels like some people in the higher ups were simply looking for something already popular to milk.
  5. I do hope Imouto Paradise 2 will be on the list, but than again I am a bit of a freak. It would certainly be nice if Mangagamer would mention if they were in further talks with Alicesoft, although wouldn't it be a bitch if Alicesoft withdrew their support of Mangagamer due to whatever reason..... I still would like to have a status update. For Sekai Project I imagine there will be several titles made by obscure circles and a few titles of some renown, but due to various circumstances Sekai project will do something rather stupid and piss off the people who want the title.
  6. I don't care if there is decades of scientific experimentation to generate data for this vid, I'ma going to play the creationist at a prehistorical museum and call it a load of shit without knowing anything about it.
  7. Ehhhh, I'm not entirely sure that I follow. A untold number of visual novels, anime, manga, movies, books, TV shows, and any other form of entertainment out there hinge upon a ridiculous plot point or device in the first act to jump start the story. It was a microwave/timemachine in steins;gate, kidnapping a Japanese businessman that was carrying data on nukes in Black Lagoon, random compulsive murder in Tsukihime.
  8. I was referring to situations like Well, I suppose this too comes down to taste. I absolutely love things that are tonally deaf and unpredictable.
  9. Well usually most people fall in two or three camps, like with Extra they either hated the cliche soup or loved the comedy and characters. With Grisaia nearly everyone has a very specific and unique opinion on the title. For example, while I enjoyed every route in the vn, I disliked allot of aspects in "Angelic Howl". I found
  10. It still surprises me how many different opinions there are on the various aspects of Grisaia no Kajitsu. I wonder what makes Grisaia different from other visual novels to cause such a vast amount of differing views.
  11. If a parody character called "Otter Whambar" dosn't appear in this title, I will be severely disappointed in everyone involved.
  12. Ohhhh all this talk about gaming addictions gets me all nostalgic for my highschool years. I have fond memories of my Dad screaming at me for getting a B on my report card. He would take the 360 and my computer power cord and lock it in the back trunk of his car and yell at me for the entire evening about how much of a failure I was, how I shouldn't have any trouble being a genius because I don't live in poverty like he did and how video games were rotting my brain, sometimes forcing me to do exercise or clean the house (during the yelling). Than the next morning he would apologize for being an asshat, give me back my electronic goodies and act like nothing happened for the rest of the week. Well, at least until something else triggered him again and the beautiful process happened all over again. Good times .
  13. I hit the delete conversation button and it stopped for me.
  14. But it is fucking insipid and juvenile and no one should want to be a part of it.
  15. Both seasons of railgun are more "tightly" written than Index and have very satisfying endings that are built from earlier arcs of the show. I definitely like Railgun allot more than Index.
  16. Just surgically remove the nasal cavity! I have solved the problem.
  17. Well, it isn't like battle royals are known for their life changing storytelling. Usually the plot only serves as a showcase for over the top fight scenes. Not saying that makes the anime good, but plot is rarely a priority in this particular sub-genre. Although I found the entire mediocre experience to be worth it just for that ending, that was hilariously stupid.
  18. Code Geass: Love the premise, but I just have soo many issues with the endings of both seasons of Japanese Batman. Ego Proxy: God damn did I want to like this anime. It is the only example of narrative, that I know of, in which scientific and theistic ideas coexist without talking down to each other. But, that horrible fucking ending that made zero sense. Toaru Hikuushi e no Koiuta: I liked the world and the aerial combat, but the character development gave me a headache, the story was retarded, and that ending.... waaayyyy to try and sell a complete and utter crippling defeat as a win.
  19. Yeah, and it seems like most of the messed up posts are mine...... and I don't think I really want to know what I said. God I'm getting a headache, this thread can only go up from here .
  20. I think he means "roleplaying" rape. Which, isn't what happened in Chris's route.
  21. Actually is it all still there? For some reason allot of the previous posts arn't appearing on my browser when I try and look at them.
  22. Reminds me of the autistic kid I used to trigger for fun in elementary through middle school. I think it really satisfied me to get him in trouble for attacking me, because my Dad was a bit more abusive towards me back than and no one was ever going to tell him off. I stopped in highschool, not because of any grand revelation or presentation, it just dawned on me that I was being a dick. I was friendly to him for awhile afterwards, but kinda isolated myself from him after about a year. I realized I was simply being friendly to him so I would feel like a good person and that disgusted me.
  23. Probably why bbh was picked by alicesoft to be their opening game in their partnership with Mangagamer. They looked up a list of Mangagamer titles and picked something of theirs that fitted in best. bbh is a fantastic nukige, it may not have excellent gameplay or story, but it excels in what it's objective was.
