Well, there is high probability that I know nothing, but I would say you are fighting a losing battle. Finally finished Air... Funny thing, when I decided to start learning japanese my main goal was 'I want to be able to read Air someday'. In the end I didn't really manage to achieve that goal because the english translation was published 1 month before I felt that I am ready to try read something in japanese. But now when I think about it, maybe it's the better. This way I didn't say 'the hell, was I learning for so long just for this?'... Yea, as you probably already understood I don't really liked this VN very much. It wasn't bad - it just wasn't good enough. The main problem I had is 'anime was better'. Someone could say 'well, if if you watched the anime then what's the point of reading VN it was based at?'. And I would disagree, because I watched Kanon before I read it, and I liked VN. I watched Clannad before I read it and I really liked VN. However, there could still be a point in that sentence. There was more scenes in Kanon VN than was in anime. There as a lot more in Clannad VN than was in anime. But Air VN and anime are almost identical. Yea, there were couple of 'new' scenes. There were bad ending, and Minagi bad ending, and I quite enjoyed those. But it was just not enough. Also I felt that anime was better paced and narration was much better, especially in last route, where I really disliked the narration. When I compare enjoyment I got from this to VN I read before I decided to give it rating of 7/10. It wasn't very good, but wasn't very bad either. Still, if one already watched the anime I think there is really no point in reading this.

Well, it not like I'm reading this right now or finished it recently, but I really just have to share one thought with someone... It's about the series Sono Hanabira ni Kuchizuke o. Yes, it's basically just a lesbian nukige, so you are not supposed to expect much from them but still... they have so bad music... Seriously, the music in that VN is so dreadfully bad I just can't express it enough. And I have seen some nukiges with descent or even good music, so being a nukige isn't really a excuse for me. Being bad is one thing, but it's so terribly misused I'm just in loss of words. In fact I was so disgusted that when I muted it and played some ost from from Hoshimemo in it's place my opinion went from 'well, it's quite a meh lesbian porn' to 'well, it's actually quite pleasant to read'. Some can say that music isn't that important (especially in nukige) but still, it was clearly the worst I experienced to this moment

Since I recently finished Irotoridori no Hiraki here image of Shinku that I probably liked the most ^^ And as a bonus... I seriously don't know much about touhou and characters from there, but Remilia and Flandre are just cute ^^

And no, I'm not just showing you my desktop image. I just dont like have icons there. All shortcuts that I use I have in self-hiding taskbar. And before anyone ask - it's windows 7, I just dont like it's look so changed it to look like win98

I'm not getting on the hype train, because I know, that if my expectation will rise to big I won't be fully satisfied no matter what I get. Better to approach this with open mind.

Finished Danna ga Nani o Itteiru ka Wakaranai Ken. I'm really amazed how that not even 40 minutes long series drew me in. Very warm story about otaku husband and 'normal' wife. Even with some quirks from both sides it really felt like a just normal couple. It really makes one think there could be still some happiness is the future... Yea, right 8/10

For the start, sorry for weird spoiler formatting. That code don't work here the way I am used to (its starting a new line), but I don't have heart to try rewrite it. Have to take it under consideration next time... Finished いろとりどりのヒカリ (Irotoridori no Hikari) yesterday. I have to say, that while I really liked it, I was not as impressed as I was hoping for. The problem is, while I really liked Shinku prologue and route the rest was not much more than 'ok'. Shinku prologue was really nice. Not much plot, but we didn't see much of everyday Yuuma and Shinku life in Iroseka, so I was ok to have it now. I got much hope there, that I will get something amazing when the plot kicks off. Unfortunately next I took Tsukasa route, which was... uh... I really have no Idea why that girl is even here. She seriously is just walking 2 jokes (about big breasts and eating) and nothing more. As a 3-rd plane character she works somehow as a comedic relief, but in her route (both in Irosera and Irohika) her lack of personality is quite painfull. Good plot could fix it a bit but nope, just some crappy romance and crappy drama. Kyou route was a bit better, but it it wasn't really thanks to her, but to her brother and grandmother . The first half of route also was somewhat interesting because of Yuuma . While Kyou herself isn't much more interesting person than Tsukasa the plot regarding people that we already know was the thing that saved that route. Mio route was really nice start ( ). Part with was quite nice as well. Unfortunately ending killed that route a bit for me. Kana route was ok I guess, but I felt it was really to long for the little it had to tell. Also scene with Ayumu in 'ghost world' was quite ridiculous. Ai route was quite nice. Finally it didn't feel so dragged as some of previous routes being more compact set of scenes. Good amount af plot here, but somehow I didn't really 'felt' that route, thats why while I don't really see any big problems it was just 'nice' for me. And finally true Shinku route. Up to about half (?), to the moment when I really liked and felt it, even if the plot was a bit slow. Unfortunately after that I began to feel, that it was starting dragging a bit. It's one thing when plot goes slow at the beginning, when you know that there is much history to tell left, that will eventually kicks off, other thing is just waiting for ending that somehow can't arrive. It's not a serous complain, I still really REALLY liked that rute and felt it a lot, it was just really good, not amazing as I was hoping for. I decided to give it a rating of 9/10, but I really see why someone could give it less. If I had to rate routes individually it probably would be like 8,5,7,7,6,7,9 (taking the order of routes in my post), but for me it was just tale about Shinku and Yuuma, other girls being just a bonus. Also many people give Ever 17 very high rates because of final route, even if all of the rest really wasn't that good, so I hope that my rating here can be also forgiven Just 2 thoughts at the end. That not a big problem.In my last job during 3 months I managed to memorise names only of few people that I was working with. And when boss told me 'go to (insert name) and do that and this' I was like'... ehm... and who was person with this name?' Also after spending 3 years in school with ~30 people class I didn't memorise names of half of them. And now I don't remember almost anyone. Now that is what you can call being bad with names ^^'

Well, I didn't read enough yet to have clear preferences but... I choose charage because I like cute heroines, but I want some plot, so moege is not enough. I choose nakige, because I like some engaging drama. I probably would like utsuge as well, because I prefer reasonable bad or bitter-sweet endings oves ass-pulled happy ends, but I didn't read enough of those to be sure. I also choose kinetic novel, because I don't like choices at all. Better to have linear plot or some kind of clear one choice scenario selection. Funny thing. When I pasted this text into google translator (to check for misspellings) it insisted, that I made mistake and it should be nukige rather than nakige. You bastard, don't think you know me that well... ;p

Hello, after couple of months of just reading I decided to make an account, just because there are times when I would like to reply as well. I started reading visual novels about 4 years ago, and almost a year ago I started reading them also in japanese. There is still a lot of learning before me, but I somewhat manage to read with help of jparser. Except for Michiru from Katawa Shoujo (what is quite common opinion) I would say that I was quite disappointed, that Hotaru from Ichiban Janakya Dame Desu ka? was just attached to Ruri route rather that having her own. Not that I like that types of heroine that much, but being just a bonus to Ruri didn't have much sence.
