  1. This actually fits how I watch Game of Thrones since what usually happens is I watch a few as they come out and then completely forget about it for basically the rest of the year and then suddenly remember to go back and watch it all once it's finished. While people are waiting for new GoT eps, might I recommend checking out HBO's other amazing shows? The Wire is an excellent way to fill time between GoT eps. GoT is kind of what opened my eyes to HBO's level of quality, and now that I've gone back and watched a few of their other series (The Wire, Oz, that one western show whose name I can't remember) I've found that pretty much all of them are worth watching.
  2. Why oh why isn't Licia the main character of Aiyoku no Eustia. They could have called it Aiyoku no Licia or something. She's so adorable and her arc is where every other plot thread starts coming together. Can't. Stop. Reading.
  3. I like them for posting lengthy reviews. I haven't started mine yet but I intend to once I'm done with Eustia.
  4. Yes but did you kill
  5. This just in from Eustia: Lucia is freaking adorable :3
  6. I was afraid to pick this up on Vita at first because a review said they had cut one of the routes from the adult version for the all-ages release, but it turns out all they cut was a special bonus H-scene with one of the characters who doesn't actually have a route so no worries.
  7. I went Balmung>Longinus>Claimh Solais. Claim Solais is the best sword you can get on normal mode, but it's tricky to get to.
  8. Actually I got all of those before I fought that boss. The weapon really helped since it was a huge damage boost over what I had at the time. Also... I beat it. Best ending and all that. Huzzah.
  9. I fought (boss spoiler) back-to-back. Medusa Head's air-pause makes the first of those super easy since you can just pause in the air by their weakpoint and spam it. The second one was pretty boring. I just wailed on it with Beam Skeleton and it went down pretty fast. Happily I got the thing the above post mentions.
  10. Incidentally, now that the thread is up are we allowed to plow through to the end of the game now?
  11. ^CON raises defense My favorite souls (excuse the poorly translated names, I'm playing the Japanese version so I don't know what they're called in English): Red - Apprentice Witch: Kitty! And it does tons of damage to any enemy that is moving on the ground Mini-Devil: This one is okay, but it's mainly fun because whenever Soma uses it he yells 'KIRISAKE!' Blue - Medusa Head: Stop in mid-air? Heck yes. Makes getting on moving platforms insanely easy and it absolutely wrecks any boss that pauses in mid-air since you can pause right next to him and wail on him. Persephone: Demon vacuum cleaner! Reminds me of Hunter x Hunter Yellow - Collector. Nuff said. I'm obsessed with spears for some reason, so I used the Lance for the longest time until I finally got far enough to start getting the special colorful glowy swords (like the poison one, the ice one etc) I spent probably like 15 minutes trying to grind out Valkyrie's soul but it never dropped. I even got her rare(?) weapon drop but no soul. Some enemies just refuse to give it up. I even have my super luck-boosting soul slotted (Green Dragon, Luck mid-up) and no dice. Easily my least favorite part of the game is after you get but before you get the ability to . At that point the map is very spread out with not enough teleport points so you have to run for hours just to find a dead end. I was convinced that I wasn't supposed to be fighting Death yet, so I ran around looking for alternate points only to basically explore every corner of the map and discover that yes, he was the only thing I could fight at the time. I guess what I'm saying is after you get beeline for Death because any further exploration will just frustrate you. Also the underwater section is a huge BS maze with too few saves and too many dead ends. I went about 15 minutes over my 3 hours mainly because I was stuck in that stupid maze for forever. I kept saying 'there's got to be a save just ahead, it'd be a waste to go back to the last one at the beginning' and pushing forward.
  12. Wow they say almost nothing about it after announcing it years and years ago, and then suddenly it's coming out in 5 months. Then again I'm pretty sure Tears to Tiara 2 got pushed back 3 or 4 times so maybe they wanted to avoid that snafu again. In 5 short months that game will be in my Vita. It will be in my Vita so hard. I hope they reveal the bonuses for the special edition soon. Leaf/Aquaplus always have really awesome special editions. Edit: Oh they already have revealed it. Mini-soundtrack, artbook, DLC codes. Pretty standard.
  13. Wouldn't most light novel anime these days fall under that category? I dunno why but light novel authors seem to be terrified of allowing their characters to have actual relationships (yeah there are a few exceptions but still). Plus the series structure for a lot of LNs takes the 'monster of the week' trope and turns it into 'harem addition of the book', with each book just introducing a new girl with a new problem for the protag to solve thus winning the undying affection of the girl. The first thing that came to mind when I saw 'harem' was To Aru Majutsu no Index. Touma ain't ending up with either of the two 'main' girls anytime soon, and every arc just piles more girls on top of him.
  14. I hit 3 hours at about 76% map completion
  15. Yes Tales of Eternia is very good. It was originally for PS1, and the PSP version is a straight port with nothing new that I can think of.
  16. This anime is padded to hell and back. The books are much better. You're like half a season into the anime when Erin finally ends up with bee guy. In the book the death happens in the first chapter and by the 2nd chapter the actual story has begun. I dunno why they decided to make 2 relatively short books into a 52 episode series but yeah Erin drags on way too long.
  17. Gunslinger Girl: Usagi Drop: Hunter x Hunter: Oh you're not going to change the opening this season either? Oh okay that's cool I really like this mediocre lack of effort song you've had going for the whole series. It's sort of like how Sailor Moon had the same OP forever except y'know Moonlight Densetsu wasn't horrible, forgettable and off-tone. Not like the previous version of Hunter x Hunter had any good opening themes or anything (there may be a little sarcasm going on here) Victory Gundam: The girl in my avatar. Yes I'm using a character that I genuinely don't like as my avatar. Mainly because she's cute until she opens her mouth and the image kind of suits me.
  18. It`s hard with Castlevania because it`s so open-ended, but with an RPG or something it might be best to just say `play to the xth boss` or `xth dungeon` that way we will all be on exactly the same page. As far as time, I`m barely going to hit 3 hours tonight so don`t increase it too much!
  19. We're only talking about in America right? Because every Sony console in Japan is flooded with VNs. Before Sony it was Sega (well at least for the Saturn/Dreamcast era) Edit: Oh wait you mean pornographic ones. Never mind I'm an idiot.
  20. Because seishun. If the question is 'why teens Japan?' the answer is always 'because seishun'. People don't realize just how magical of a word/theme/concept it is to Japanese folks.
  21. Dat urge to grind monsters to get souls. I'm probably going to end up over-leveled too, and I keep having to tell myself to stop wasting pieces of my 3 hours grinding. (Then again one result of grinding was I got two really awesome souls so...) Edit: Also like a total weaboo Japanophile I'm playing the Japanese version Minuet of Dawn. As far as I know there's absolutely no difference except for Japanese voices and of course the text.
  22. ??? Your post is agreeing with mine. I was being sarcastic about Japan accepting everyone, thus the asterisk with the note revealing that, really, Japan only accepts you as long as you act like everyone else when you're in public because no one cares what you do in your private time and as long as you never tell anyone about it.
  23. The answer, as always, is that everyone should just move to Japan where people will totally accept you no matter what weird fetish you have* *so long as you never talk about it to anyone ever. V Yyyup. In Japan 'don't ask don't tell' is a life philosophy. No one cares what you like as long as they never find out what it is.
  24. Well I finished both Saint Irene's and Lavi's routes in Eustia. I thought there was a route in between them but it turns out you can see both endings within about a half an hour of each other. So that just leaves me the Princess and Eustia herself. I thought I was about halfway done, but turns out I'm in the home stretch. One thing that's getting to me a little is how forcefully happy the endings are. It seriously feels weird when all the conspiracies and plots are still happening in the world and Caim basically just says 'Welp let's just set that aside and have ourselves a happy end with this girl'. It's especially glaring in the St. Irene/Lavi endings for reasons that would be too spoilery to talk about. Anyway, it's just off-putting for such a gritty, dark game to have such saccharine endings.
  25. Boy Asakura You. All he wants to do is become God so he can tell the whole world to chill out and take it easy. Girl Daidoji Tomoyo. Easily my favorite character in any magical girl show. Her voice is amazing, she is adorable as all get out, she has great design sense (well that's mostly thanks to CLAMP drawing all those costumes) and gosh darnit she's the best friend ever. You know it's true love when she puts her own feelings on hold because she only wants happiness for the target of her affections. Animal Though Hello Kitty tends to be the face of Sanrio, I personally consider My Melody to be their greatest creation (followed closely by the Jewel Pets). I'm not really into the fashion side of it all, but the anime of My Melody is amazingly fun. My Melody herself is completely oblivious to... well just about everything, and that's what makes her so endearing. She's like a Carebear if Carebears was self-aware. The show is constantly poking fun at how single-mindedly dedicated My Melody is to just having a nice relaxing friendly time with anyone and everyone. Why you gotta get those black notes, Kuromi? Can't we all just get along?
