I think this is where everyone says "you are right Lumeria" and never respond to it again. Everyone who is trying to not be overly critical and throwing ideas out there, I appreciate it and if you would like to DM me for a special skype channel where we test mechanics, betas, assets, feel free to do so. You would have to sign an NDA but I am always looking for people who wish to be critical but not destructive.

If I ignored the negative, i would have still been trying to push out the product I had created back in october. The game was overhauled for a reason. Your obsession for "purity" in visual novels is kind of scary considering you started a thread about making VNs more popular in the west. The way you do it is by appeasing their interest while not alienating the base. Your strategy for making visual novels more west friendly is like the republican strategy to get more minority voters. "If we insult them enough, they surely will vote for us!"

Just trust me on this. It is a visual novel. The game mechanics are to enhance the story. If it was fully scripted, you wouldn't feel the wonder and craziness of the rift.

it can be done. I am doing it now. In fact, almost 90% of my marketing has been going to the black community to bring them into the genre in secret. They love my game and what I am doing. They have no clue what a visual novel is so I market it as an interactive graphic novel. It really is time we start making games tailored to the outside markets. I believe VNs could completely replace the graphic novel industry but only if they start becoming more unique like the graphic novel industry. Westerners love their historical fictions and scifi.

I appreciate that. Something like percy jackson is what this is. I am completely changing the ancient world with the assumption that the ancient alien theory is real. It makes my "spread out idea that's all over the place" a concise story where the rules are set in stone for all pantheons. I believe Lumaria is being overly critical but everyone is entitled to their opinions. The african culture thing was a little weird though. (Its not racist, but it definitely is ignorant.)

Good input. I pulled most of these contrast from a megathread in the visualnovel subreddit. They were going hard on overused and underused things and when they spoke of underused, I basically hit most of them.

You make good points. I would let you know though that I plan to pick a fight with "Gods of Egypt" before they release. I am going to go so hard against them it isn't even funny. This is solely for my black community fan base though. Its a fight that must be fought. I will not use grandioso words much more. I think I only used it here because I was explaining the "hidden" reality of what i am trying to accomplish. BTW for everyone following this. @black_sands_entertainment is my Instagram handle. there is an ingame encyclopedia for everything foreign in the game. We will have an alpha version of the demo ready in 3 weeks. This is the polished short version of the demo used to land a publisher -)

I have a growing following in the black community and my web series which comes out soon specifically targets the ancient aliens/astronauts audience. I am definitely fighting hard to spread the net. So while this is how I get VN fans, this is not how I get black fans or ancient alien fans. They need completely different strategies. This is also why I am delaying heavily the relaunch of my KS. I want it to go viral.
