My year with VNs started with back in April playing Majikoi which brought me back out of a 8 month VN hiatus. Kara No Shoujo and it's better sequel, G Senjou No Maou, Saya No Uta, and other VNs followed that. I joined this forum in October of this year and was welcomed warmly. I immediately loved the chat and all the people in it were cool as well including Flut, Green, Velo, Zeb, Nash, Hitori, and others. My favorite VN moment of this year for me was playing through the entire story of G Senjou No Maou with it topped off with that amazing epilogue.

You make it sound like Steam reviews are ever a reliable source for judging a game's quality. Steam reviewers use their nether regions or their "funny" bone instead of their brain when writing reviews. To be fair, that used to be me back when I was 13 so you could say most of the reviews for the are from stupid horny teenage weeaboos who do nothing but jack off to idolmaster doujinshi 7 hours a day.

Awesome to see this VN actually get released. I was quite worried when it was stalled for a long time.

Narp. The original "Shirou" was a girl named Ayaka Sajyou, and Saber was originally a dude. They switched to a male protag and female Saber because dudes would be more likely to read it if the main character was male. I thought these were just rumors before but it was real? Fuck... I would have preferred the male Saber... He's hot! How could you do this to your female fans Type-Moon?! Also Manaka Sajyou is quite a looker too. Lastly, Psychological Horror genre on Sakura Christmas? Like it causes psychological horror on anyone who plays it... like it did to me when I played other Sakura games. Glad the game recognizes that now. It's good to see that Winged Cloud is accepting that their writing is so bad it causes psychological damage to the readers.

The story being half assed is usually acceptable by me because that means they usually put more effort into the hentai aspect which is what I'm there for.

The way it happened is that at some point during development Type-Moon realized that if Shirou were to have sex with a dude that'd be pretty gay, and not what most otaku are looking for, so they made him a cute grill. Makes sense. Most male otaku don't want to see yaoi in their visual novels, me included.

I'd love to know how that happened as well. Then again, I haven't played Fate/Stay Night yet.

I agree, a human-alien relationship and how the environment would react to that would make for an intriguing story. Chances are very high that this exists somewhere, since a similar premise can be replicated with demons, robots and even simple differences in society. Actually, there is a route like that in Da Capo 2, about the difficulties of dating a robot girl. Good read. I actually considered this case and therefore ask: Would you like to see more alien heroines? If yes, in which genre or type of story? May the lords bless this man for almost answering the questions from the first post. I have Da Capo 2 so I'll have to try that out. Especially robot sex which sounds pretty kinky. Those aliens are pretty smexy.

Exactly. Those games will be the major games where I'll be a completionist if you know what I'm saying. Wish someone would make a restoration patch for Kagura Douchuuki. It's a dungeon roguelike RPG game with hundreds of amazing game over h-scenes but unfortunately heavily censored... because Steam censorship rules.... Debonosu makes great games though. I can understand it might take a lot of work though because over 50% of the game are the game over h-scenes.... lol Sounds pretty ridiculous. When 50% of your game are game over h scenes, you know you're pandering enough.

The only enjoyment I will get out of the game is me laughing uncontrollably at the poor grammar. But I am curious what Santa looks like naked when genderbended. That's pretty disappointing. I guess I won't be checking this out then. I believe the next sakura title after this will be 18+ though. Dungeon or something like that. If there are no game-over rape/H-scenes, what's the point of these dungeon RPG games? That's usually the selling point of those games, not the gameplay or the story. I haven't played a dungeon RPG VN yet, but I have the feeling that I'd lose on purpose a lot for...reasons. It's an interesting genre. I got absorbed by it from playing Monster Girl Quest and Lightning Warrior Raidy. Those were my favorite dungeon RPG games of all time. There's just something about gameover h-scenes that intrigue me instead of getting a big fat Game Over letters. I haven't played a visual novel with an alien heroines (Saya No Uta doesn't count) but I'm interested in the fact of alien relationships with humans and how that would be considered in public. I don't know if any visual novel actually does a route where the protagonist is with an alien heroine and the public doesn't accept their relationship but I'm sure they're out there

And all the horny teenage otaku of the world got their christmas gift in Santa personified as a girl. I'm still not playing this mostly because all ages hurts Sakura Games so much for me. Maybe if they had a hentai patch, I'd be willing to check out some Christmas action.

I found it be decent. The heroines were pretty cut and paste and the routes felt like something Key would do except cut to the bare minimum, but the interactions were fun and the comedy was pretty good as well. I'd give it a 6 out of 10.

Whenever a heroine is quiet, she instantly attracts me. Kuuderes also have the same effect on me. It's the feeling of breaking through the quiet/coldness to find out more about the heroine that makes me love those characters so much.
