I only discovered the medium of vns through dodger, and I still watch her LPs occasionally. Unlike most, she actually gives her own commentary, like predicting how the story is going to turn out. Also, she tends to pick more obscure vns that I wouldn't normally come across
Nice interview. I always love to see how an interviewer is always so much more polite in person than he is in a forum. Just shows what the internet does to a person's behaviour
I wouldn't say they're adding extra elements, so much as showing elements that were just implied in the original, but yeah.
Thinking about it though, the original had crucial elements that are simply impossible to adapt, so it kinda makes sense that they wouldn't try to adapt it very faithfully, and choose to make something that works on it's own instead
More news! http://kazamatsuri.org/planetarian-anime-preview-and-more/
Oh god that ED, I get the idea behind it but I'm starting to think @Nosebleed was right, it really won't work as an anime, at least not the way it did as a vn.
We're probably going to have to live with the fact that the anime is going to be a completely different beast and hope that it'll at least be good in it's own way
Wait, are we just talking about localizing games other than vns here?
If so, don't care, I have steam
If not, fairytale requiem, because I LOVE the visual style, but it's probably too weird and un-nukigelike for MG to even consider picking it up
I actually like SP, but that's probably because I've barely played anything localized by the other 2 companies
Edit: haha, I just checked my vndb list and there's 1 game from MG, 1 from Jast and 8 from SP. i guess they just tend to make more stuff that intrigues me
So I did some research to find out what else the writer of planetarian had written after working for key, and apart from him pretty much dissappearing off the face of the earth, the only thing I could find was this light novel
No idea what it's about (yuri, i think), but I bought it anyway
Now I just have to learn Japanese to read it
I'm 5 minutes in and I have to say, those animations, just wow. it's like every character is made of jelly, it's hilarious
Apart from that though, it's pretty good
