Then I was eventually convinced to try: 4. Katawa Shoujo It wasn’t good, but it was okay enough that I decided to try: 5. Cho Dengeki Stryder From then on I’ve read VNs with only the occasional half year short gap.

Bokuten, but what are chances of that since it sat at the same point for most (all?) of 2017 Shiei no Sona-Nyl Majikoi, but again what are the chances it actually comes out this year. I might pick up some of the others coming out this year, but I have to get get out of my VN slump first.

Only thing stalled for the moment is VNs period. I haven’t got around to reading one in months even though I have a backlog. As for dropped: Harukoi Otome - one of the first VNs I bought so I didn’t look into it as much as I should have. I personally have no interest in loli routes. The loli routes are needed to unlock most of the normal routes. Katawa Shoujo - Finished Hanako’s route when it first came out and liked it. Got partway through Rin’s and stalled for a year. Forced myself to finish Rin and stalled partway through Emi. Eventually forced myself to finish Emi and stalled on Shizune. Two years later tried to force myself to finish Shizune and dropped it for good partway through her route. Swan Song - tried it years ago. Got bored.

So I can spend time I could use to read VNs to complain about not having enough time to play VNs.

I only buy digital and generally buy from steam because their regional pricing is WAAAAY better than the exchange rates the credit card companies use (but worse than the real exchange rate). If it isn’t available on Steam or doesn’t have a patch, then I buy it from the publisher’s site- specifically mangagamer so far. I do have a few from Denpasoft (Grisaia), but those were from the Kickstarter. I’ve got a few others from Kickstarter as well, or will if when they come out to be more exact.

As far as I know, no one. But a lot of that is because no one I know in real life knows about in my tastes in anything be it VNs, games, books, or even food.

My high school experience was nothing like they show in pop culture. It wasn’t good or bad. It just happened. I got high grades without any studying all through elementary, junior high and high school, so I didn’t develop any kind of study skills. This would bite me in the ass when I tried University and suddenly couldn’t remember anything come test time, but that’s getting off topic. My only friends were those I had been hanging out with since elementary. I fell out of touch with all of them as soon as we graduated. There were a few people I had more than one class with, but I didn’t get to know any of them. I arrived just before school started, left for lunch, and went home right after school. I’m sure there must have been school clubs of some sort, but I have no idea what any of them were. There was a student council, but there were no elections and whatever it was they did had no effect on my life. Also I honestly can’t remember being interested in any girls at all. All the ones I was interested in in junior high went to other high schools.

Another choice of where to buy is a good thing (probably). No idea if I will ever buy anything there though. Only things I’d buy would be ones I can’t get from Steam (their regional pricing is way better than credit card exchange rates here as long as there is a patch of course) or the publisher’s site. Your first point is why I said I hate to defend them. And you are right. Them failing to mention the censorship is either incompetence or outright lying and they should be blamed for that. I didn’t think of that when I posted. What I meant with my post was that like most, or maybe all, the games on their downloadable storefront; this one was localized by another company (at least I assume so) and then just sold on there like the ones from MangaGamer, Denpasoft, Jast, and a bunch of western developers that are on there are. There are ones on there with virgin blood (or at least I assume so since they have it in the non-Nutaku versions and I would have assumed this would have come up before if those were censored on Nutaku too like it does when their browser game localizations are censored) and at least one with a trap main character which made me think that they don’t have a problem with this kind of content. I was just thinking of this as a situation like when Moenovel released If My Heart Had Wings on MangaGamer. It was Pulltop/MoeNovel that chose to censor it to such extremes, not MangaGamer. Now if it is the case that it was someone at Nutaku that chose to have this game censored, then screw Nutaku.

I hate to defend Nutaku, but shouldn’t the company that translated it be blamed instead? Nutaku is just the storefront in this case.

Incest isn’t a fetish of mine, but I do like having women in their 30s or 40s as routes in VN. The two most common ways they show up seem to be teachers and family members, so I go with it. Not much interest in siblings or father/daughter.

I think it looks great. The lighter shadows on the guy on the left is a little odd to me, but I only noticed it the third time I looked at the picture.

Looks interesting. I’ll be keeping an eye on this. I would be interested in a R-rated version, but don’t feel that you need to make one just because people want it if you aren’t comfortable doing so.

For a while now I’ve been going through my backlog by playing the oldest I have, then the newest, next oldest, etc. Right now I’m on Crimson Gem Saga. I like the story and characters, but I’m only on chapter II and sooooo tired of the battle system, especially with ambushing the enemy being so important and yet they have eyes in the back of their heads

Can't help you as I'm not an otaku. I've only ever watched four anime series (.hack//Sign, .hack//Roots, Full Metal Alchemist, FMA: Brotherhood), and read one manga (FMA). I read VNs for the same reason I play RPGs, I love a good story to the point that I won't play a game that has no story or a story I don't like. Yes, I know I'm just in denial. Shut up.
