Usually they'll talk about how violent games might be bad for children. Point is, children aren't supposed to play these games in the first place We had a similiar report where they showed the airport scene bit then afterwards they interviewed some gamers who had different opinions. I think the scientist they interviewed was one of those who believes that violent video games don't create violence but can sometimes spur on already violent people. Which isn't reason enough to forbid them. But no matter who they interviewed they did mention that there are several conflicting studies on the subject (which I think is very important no mattet if you are for or against violent video games).

I think its dangerous to write of all news programs as sensationalism as this isn't always true. This varies a lot between different countries and news programs. While i can't claim to know anything about american news programs I think that the biggest news programs in Sweden are rather good (Our most popular newspaper isnt though) as they usually focus on the facts when reporting and then have discussion sections where various people (like scientists) discuss their opinion. This makes it easy to separate facts and theories and allows everyone to form their own opinion. Therefore I think its important to separate sensationalist journalists and legitimate journalists. To generalize all journalists isnt fair.

I think this is something we should do when we have more active members.

That's assuming that it will have voicing as well.

I don't normally post content online but since Tay asked so nicely I figured I might as well post something. This is pretty much the only drawings I have preserved digitally as I have only began to use my tablet recently. Hope I'll get som drawings scanned in so I can colour them later. This is a stylized self-portrait. Its also the first picture I drew on my tablet in years. One of my own characters. A wallpaper I drew up yesterday and finished today. Since I can't draw decent backgrounds I used a stock photo. I linked it as it wont fit inside the post.

Welcome! And I agree Ever 17 is really good (though the early routes drag a bit). I discovered VN's 2009 and I have still barely read anything you seem to finish them a bit more quickly than I do

Umineko Keyboard cover~ Most of these stuff have been lying here for years I'm just too lazy to put away them (I have never used the hair color and the calendar is from 2010 UNUSED). Wish I had known I had a gift certificate from H&M buried under everything. Hope its still usable but probably not :(/>

Be sure to read Haru's route as it really is the 'definitive' G-senjou experience. As nice (or not nice depending who you ask) the side routes are they are obviously tacked on afterwords and don't resolve the story in the fantastic way as the former. I wouldn't even call it a route since to read it you just have to play G-senjou straight to the end. It really just is the actual ending to G-senjou. But yeah G-senjou is really great. I have read it 4 times I think (though I only read the side routes the first time). And I'll probably return for more after reading some other VN's and rereading Sharin.

I haven't played a lot of pokemon. I own diamond and I think I tried a friends game once (think it was Fireread but I can't really remember). I used to collect a lot of cards but I never actually played with them (none of my friends knew how and I was to shy to ask the guys to play with me). I admired and traded them instead (I still have a grudge against a then-classmate who stole my blaziken lol). I have been thinking about buying some of the older games and try though (all they new pokemon look so weird to me, which is the reason I never could get through Diamond).

Of the currently airing shows you should definitely try Shin Sekai Yori (Though the UTW translation is a lot nicer to read). Some other good recent shows are Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun (My Little Monster), Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita (Humanity has declined), Ika-Musume (Squid Girl) and Usagi Drop. And of course the oldies (compared to the previously mentioned of course) like The Melacholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Hayate no Gotoku and Lucky Star (They don't have a lot of good old shows on crunchyroll so you will definitely miss out if that's your only source for anime)

You should really do Nacchan's route first as she has no extra scenes during the common route. That way each time you replay you'll get extra scenes while if you do Nacchans later the only thing different is the epilogue.

Yeah I know thats why I'm not really against it per-se. It's more that I think that we might not want the japanese publishers to perceive us as a threat if you understand what I mean. The thing I'm worried about is either that fuwanovel will receive a lawsuit (a real one not just a C&D) or that the japanese companies will just decide that it's too bothersome to release things officially since it's just going to get uploaded anyway (even though it doesn't decrease sales they probably won't see it that way.)

I honestly don't think it's a good idea to offend the few companies that actually bother to release their games in english by uploading them for free. It's not that I find it wrong (hell I would probably use the function myself if I had a phone with android) but there's so few companies who actually dare to release their stuff officially. I think this might actually hurt fuwa's longtime goal (to make VN's more popular in the west). If we want companies to release translations of their stuff themselves we probably should ignore the official releases (for now).

I hope you consider making it an alternative download as a lot of people (me included) consider the ps3 artwork bland and generic. The voices are good although the first ps3 game suffers from bad voice direction.

Yeah I usually do that too. I just thought that the Clannad anime really added something to the VN (and I'm an animation junkie and KyoAni does have some really nice animation, which is very rare in anime).

In the cases where I have watched the anime first I always end up finding the VN better. The only anime I have ever preferred to the VN is Clannad and I read the VN way before I watched the anime.

2012 was their 10 year anniversary so I assume that they mean something like "let's contine to produce fantastic stuff these next 10 years as well". I doubt that we'll have to wait 10 years for it.

There is no Tsukhime Anime No just kidding. I doubt we'll get a release date in the near future and Type-Moon will probably push it back at least a year anyway.

Yeah it'll just lead to fighting mass-negrepping and other non-fun stuff. I think it's really hard to understand most people who are against gun-control because of growing up in a different kind of culture and I guess most of you who are against it would feel the same way about us who are for it.

This is only true in a country which already has too many guns in circulation. Here you can't just get a gun. You have to have criminal contacts (and most criminals here doesn't have access to guns either) or you have to have a license (which is really hard to get). The thing is most people doesn't know how to make bombs or weapons that can kill several people at the same time. Which means they'll have to substitute guns with knives for example. Killing someone with a knife may not be harder then killing someone with a gun but killing several people with one sure is. You can't kill people that's running away from you with a knife. You can with a gun. Also if a person is crazy they deserve help not someone shooting them.
