[news] Sekai Project releases another TL survey, hints at Key
BookwormOtaku replied to Narcosis's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Completed the survey, gave them a long list of companies I'd like to see games from (not that I expect any from that wish list to be picked). If they can make a deal with Key/Visual Arts, that's great- 71 replies

For me the Kyonyuu Fantasy series is the best harem eroge series. The characters are memorable and entertaining and the story's good too. About the only thing playing eroge has done regarding my views on polygamy is given me something more to file under "Only in in 2D". I don't have any problems with people having threesome type relationships or more since my philosophy is as long as it doesn't hurt anyone a person can lead whatever lifestyle they want. And if anyone's curious, belief wise I'm Catholic...and yes, I acknowledge it probably comes off as weird I'm into eroge, then again one of my best friends in college was Jewish and he ate pork about as much I did (the occasional ham sandwich aside, hot dogs count as pork right?). As for how harem routes are usually portrayed in eroge...I honestly don't care if it's unrealistic or not. I'm playing a video game to distance myself from reality. I'd be hard pressed to find any game (VN or other) in my list of favorites that didn't give realism the finger.

Visual Novel's Similar To Katawa Shoujo and Grisaia no Kajitsu?
BookwormOtaku replied to nohgamer's topic in Recommendations
Sharin no Kuni is basically Grisaia no Kajitsu in a dystopian setting so I'd recommend that one -
For translated there's Chain (though there is one non heroine rape scene), Nocturnal Illusion, Koihime Musou, and Touma Kojirou's Detective File (though this only applies to two unwinnable heroines). If you can play untranslated then the games in the Kyonyuu Fantasy series have some.

Comyu if you want something with action and good story. Go with Sharin no Kuni if you essentially want Grisaia in a dystopian setting

I have Vesperia PS3 too, I recommend having this handy to go along with each scene as it has translations for most of them. Should point out the new scenes and skits aren't translated and it doesn't translate some sidequests, but honestly it's not difficult compared to most VNs I've played: http://apps.lushu.org/vesperia/ It's currently on the backburner though since I want to wrap up Xillia in time for Xillia 2 first. The rest on my list: Code Geass: Lost Colors (PSP) (backburner) Sora no Woto (PSP) (ditto) Ayakashibito (PSP) (played Hounan's route, which is what I got it for, had some trouble with unspoken text but I got the gist of things) Fate/Stay Night Realta Nua (PS2) + bonus hanafuda game (PSP) Fate/Tiger Collisseum and its sequel (PSP) Higurashi Daybreak and Mega Edition (PSP) Baccano (DS) Super Robot Taisen OG Saga Endless Frontier EXCEED (DS) (need to beat the first game before playing this) Sengoku Basara 4 (PS3) (need to finish Samurai Kings first)

Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky(FC), on Steam/GOG July 29th!
BookwormOtaku replied to eclipsezero's topic in Gaming Talk
Been waiting for SC for quite a while, definitely getting it whenever it releases. I'm planning on buying the PC port to support the series' localization though I'm probably going to have my replay be on the PSN copy I got for my Vita earlier this year when I thought SC was coming out this summer. -

Benio then you can play Hisoka, Mayuki, or Ayaya's route, doesn't matter the order (of the three I recommend just getting Hisoka's out of the way first as storywise I found it just okay but it does have core story importance) after completing all those routes Kagome's unlocks. Speaking of which, currently playing Kagome's route and enjoying it

Well, good thing the DVDs are cheap (and I don't have a reason to feel bad about pirating the current season) Anyway, here's some good news: http://amaterasu.tindabox.net/blog/?p=1906 -

So wait, is the Korra series good after all? Enjoyed the original Avatar series and was curious but was dissuaded as I actually had to look to find people who had anything good to say about it last year -

You also still hoping/wishing for a sequel to Punish even though that's in all likelihood never going to happen? -
Gotten further in Lucia's route in Rewrite, it's so far been better than I expected (most entertaining route in the game I've read so far). Also...
-
Okay, reached the start of Lucia's route (by the game's standards). That's the best common route story I've read so far, balancing the drama with a laugh out loud hilarious resolution. If that's just the prelude to this route that everyone who's played Rewrite seems to universally love, I'm really curious about what's to come
-
That's another series I left hanging back in high school waiting for the final volume and need to finish (though I remember it way better than Wheel of Time). I don't want any specific details, but is the ending good? Also how is the sequel series?
-
Okay finished Shizuru's route. It was good...until the ending: so I get why this route isn't well regarded. Moving on to Lucia's route; considering how much praise it gets this better be good
-
After playing some of CDS' Light Saga I have to say I'm enjoying it. Only time will tell if I like it more than Sky. Played some more of Shizuru's route in Rewrite...still been a good read so far.

Comyu Translation Complete
BookwormOtaku replied to solidbatman's topic in Fan Translation Discussion
Considering how difficult Comyu is to read untranslated (I tried soon after its release...rage quit somewhere early in Benio's route) I'll take a flawed translation that isn't engrish -
I have begun the monumental task of rereading The Wheel of Time series just so I'll know how it ends; I read the series back when I was in middle school until my freshman year of high school when I finished the current book at the time which I think was "Path of Daggers". Ended up dropping the series figuring I'd just pick it up again whenever it was finished...and I think many of you know how that turned out regarding the author. Now that the series has completed...I've pretty much forgotten 90% of what I read hence the reason I'm rereading. So far I'm enjoying rediscovering this series as the writing is better than I remember (though just as slow)...though so far any scene between Rand and Egwene is starting to get on my nerves and I think I felt the same way back when I was first reading this series.

I'm actually curious to see if he might do after completing Harvest Festa seeing as he like the game as can be seen here (and some comments from him do indicate he's interested): http://amaterasu.tindabox.net/blog/?p=375 Then there is the fact that MG now has a deal with Liar-soft, but then again he did a TL for DraKoi after Nitro+'s deal with JAST...
