[SPOILER] Will there be Euphoria's sequel?
BookwormOtaku replied to lanphung's topic in Visual Novel Talk
I seriously doubt a full on sequel could work, a game taking place in the same universe maybe but the only character that I can think of with any story potential to show up in other games would be Natsuki. Though about the only thing I can think of that could be sequel-ish would be a crossover with NO, THANK YOU!! where the organization Haru hales from is that same one from euphoria, but even then all you get from that is a sequel to NTY where a character from euphoria cameos or has a semi-major role and that's ignoring that you're crossing over two very different genres of eroge which in all likelihood wouldn't work for either fanbase. -

RIP, you were also the best part of season 1 of Agents of SHIELD. -
Havn't played the game yet, so correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Ricca the main heroine because otherwise...

Currently listening to the audiobook for the fourth Wheel of Time book (stopped reading them back in high school, listening to them now as a refresher and boy is it better than I remembered, though even slower than I remembered ). Just finished the flashbacks on Rand's end...and I can't help but notice something. Is it just me or do he and Matt have better chemistry than he does with any of his love interests?

Non-Human Girls? XERO's Next Visual Novel Questionnaire!
BookwormOtaku replied to Vaelore's topic in Visual Novel Talk
I asked for some moefied Lovecraftian monster girls. I mean those Deep Ones from Innsmouth have to from somewhere right ? -
I'll get it since from what I hear is storywise you're essentially playing an evil aligned campaign, definitely different from the rest of the series, and I'm curious to see how that pulls off seeing as how well it's been received.

Bought the 3DS version since I never played the PS2 release and it's been fine so far, pretty basic but fine. I've finished the tower quest and...am I the only one who thinks Jessica's voice sounds a little... off? Like the VA's trying to hard to sound dramatic, I mean I get why knowing the context of the scene, but still...

Considering Funbag Fantasy did well I'm going to guess one of them is either Gaiden or 2/if (I'd put more money on the 2if version of this pair since that's in all likelihood canon now). 3's a possibility too if they want to be up to date with the series and the numbered entries are pretty stand alone. There's a remote possibility it could be Majo, but considering its dubious place in canon which has me curious if it'll get remade someday I doubt it. Of course if FF's success has Waffle interested in bringing more of their stuff over it could be either the first Maki-chan game since that's another series of theirs that's popular or Mankitsu Happening since it has an anime and seeing as it's written by the writer of Eroge! which did well that could be used for advertising appeal. I hope to God that it's not Gakuen de Jikan yo Tomare though Also hope for some Da Capo 3 fandisks (would Dearest Marriage be possible since it follows Otome's route anyway?), anything Koihime related and maybe Ero Manga! from Clock Up. Something from Moonstone would be nice too. As for unlikelies that I hope for: something from Propeller, something from Lilith, something from Caramel Box, a partnership with Atelier Kaguya, Navel comes back to MG with Shuffle Essence+

Been playing more of Maya's route in DC2PC and I'm quite enjoying it. The two have surprisingly good chemistry and the story so far is taking advantage of getting us to learn more about her as a character compared to the little we do in the original along with having that go along with Maya herself getting to know more of the core cast better as she her interactions with them are implied minimal in the original too. I'm currently at the winter holiday portion and I must invoke the meme "Is this a JoJo reference?" http://imgur.com/a/POdPt

Been playing Rance VI and it's been okay so far. The battle system's nice though grinding for orbs and cash does get boring after a while. Storywise it's been okay so far (took care of the serial killer thing and then the bit with Urza)...Rance is basically the same over the top anti-hero I remember from what I played of Sengoku and saw in the OVA of the first game so the comedy's decent. About the only thing is the plot elements that are happening outside of Rance's view are way more interesting than with Rance's and leave me wondering when I'm going to see more of that.

Glad to see Funbag doing well (if we're going to have nukige let's have quality nukige) and I hope this means more games in the series get localized and hopefully some more Waffle games.

Majikoi A Translation Project Discussion
BookwormOtaku replied to twdarkeh's topic in Fan Translation Discussion
So just curious but do the translation patches work on the A package? -
What are you reading? Untranslated edition
BookwormOtaku replied to Funnerific's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Been playing Kyonyuu Fantasy 3 and so far it's been pretty good, currently at chapter 2. The world building's nice and I am appreciating how it is trying to different enough from the previous games while still remaining true to the series' theme. Also been doing a bit of Da Capo 2 PC and beaten Akane's route which actually managed to have a nice arc, not only creating a story that makes for good foreshadowing to the revelations in Otome's route (wish MG could have licensed this version so I could appreciate it as a first time reader) but also managing to give a case where the incident with the sakura trees has a deeper affect on someone than a lot of previous cases and how the characters deal with it was actually handled pretty well too even if you knew what was going to happen. Also finally got around to finishing Nanaka's after story in D a Capo 2 Spring Celebration. Overall okay with a pretty cute ending. So far the best one has been Minatsu's. Only Anzu and Otome left, so next will be Anzu, here's hoping it's a worthy follow up. -
That would be hard to do now...seeing as Koihime Musou revealed he'd been two timing the MC with Kazuto

I really need to get around to beating Da Capo 2 Plus Communication...

Oddball heroines and those who love them
BookwormOtaku replied to Clephas's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Evil heroines: Kind of depends on what you mean. If you mean evil for evil's sake heroines like Saeki from Bible Black or Leona from Discipline then no. If we're talking heroines with an actual reason behind their villainy like the Sonohara twins of MinDead Blood or Yuka from Gore Screaming Show (those are the only non-spoiler examples I can think of) then I'd say yes. Calculating/cold blooded heroines: Again depends. I admit it's a good and often interesting character arc starting point at the very least, but it can be disappointing if at the end of the route that character trait is really all there is to the character. I will admit master tactician heroines can be cool. Yanderes: Yes so long as it's not the only thing to their character like in say Hitomi My Stepsister. Shocking pair of endings yes, but at the end of the day what else was there aside from the shock value (and the ero)? Chuunibyou: Haven't really encountered any good examples of this so, who knows? Mahou Shoujo: Not yet. First give me an example of one that isn't a walking joke/Sailor Moon reference or monster rape bait and I'll gladly play that game. Overpowered: I enjoyed Tsujidou-san no Junai Road and its fandisk (looking forward to the next game in the series Minato Carnival is advertising). Ai and Maki definitely fall into the overpowered section -
Well, this was sooner than expected.. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2016-12-07/dragon-ball-super-to-premiere-on-toonami-in-january/.109617

Just remembered there's the Shadow Hearts trilogy (PS2 emulator), Arc the Lad trilogy (PS1 emulator (there's also the PS2 sequels but Twilight of the Spirits is only decent compared to the previous games (plus on the romance front only Kharg has what would be considered a romantic arc and even then it doesn't go very far) and End of Darkness...the fandom pretends that never happened), and there's also Legend of Heroes IV: A Tear of Vermillion on PSP though you're going to have to deal with a translation that's a small step above machine translation.

What manga are you currently reading?
BookwormOtaku replied to Snowtsuku's topic in Anime/Manga Talk
Currently reading Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run, mainly because it's a different universe so I won't spoil anything to come for the inevitable anime adaptations of Part 5 and 6, it's a step to checking out the latest series and the idea of a wild west manga was interesting. Enjoying it so far, especially the funny music tribute names of Stands and people and am about half way through now. I think that may be the first time I've seen killer balloon animals -
I also recommend Trails in the Sky and its sequel. Anyway on to my recommendations: Final Fantasy IX (available on Steam), Suikoden V (need a PS2 emulator), Tales of the Abyss (ditto), Persona 3 and 4 (ditto, PSP emulator for the former if you want to play as the female protagonist and I should point out 4 got an expanded version for the Vita), Growlanser Generations (PS2 emulator), Growlanser Heritage of War (ditto), Sakura Wars: So Long My Love (ditto), Thousand Arms (PS1 emulator), Xenogears (ditto)
