  1. Thank you for sharing your story with us Nayleen, I was very touched. This thread is full of happy feelings. Lots of love to everyone.
  2. Friendship double-terminated.
  3. Oh, good! I've enjoyed comparing the English to the Japanese translation (and practicing character memory). Having practice in VN-format is just icing on the cake : ).
  4. Welcome to the forums!

  5. Friendship terminated.
  6. Welcome! I've got one suggestion for you, based on what I've heard so far: Go, Go Nippon! Take a look -- it sounds like it's right up your alley. In any case, welcome to the forums!
  7. It's just too bad they don't have the rights to sell the updated graphics versions... PS: Unhack is awesome. For the new folks on the forum, you should "Go Now" (in the words of Ryoji).
  8. Me, too. InvertMouse's attempt to greenlight Unhack demonstrated the instant-judgement people pass on art styles these days. I'd imagine SG would draw a whole lot more mouse-clicks than Higurashi straight out of the gate for that single reason. It's too bad, but it's very real.

    Hello

Welcome! Glad to have you! You'll have to keep us updated with the VNs you read and what you think of them. We love reviews and commentary : ).
  10. See this thread.

    Hi!

There are a TON of Japanese speakers/writers on the forums (some more active than others). I'm still trying to learn :S. I'm currently finishing up the Kanji stage of a program I developed (see this post). It's tricky balancing Japanese with school, medical school applications, and life -- but boy oh boy, it'll be worth it... It'll be worth it...
  12. Glad to have you with us! Holler if we can do anything to make you feel welcome!

    Hi!

Bwah ha ha... so many suggestions... so little time...
  14. Happy birthday!

  15. For information's sake (taken from the Contribution thread): Nayleen and I spent two weekends and the week in-between making the transition to both phpBB and SMF. Neither phpBB nor SMF offers direct conversion from IPB, and our test required a vBulletin intermediate conversion (supplied by Qberty). A lot of data was lost or corrupted in the move. Not to mention that after the conversions were done, the overwhelming consensus was that the community didn't like either option. After 120 man-hours of work, Nayleen and I realized it would take another 75-100 to restore lost functionality to either platform, with an unknown amount of bug-fixing and troubleshooting. At that point, time is money, and we'd both sacrificed too much "in real life" to justify taking more time with this project. Not to mention loss due to the forums being offline. That's a lot of the story, but truthfully, many more factors went into the decision to return to IPB. I didn't make the decision lightly, but I feel the overwhelming positive response has justified it.
  16. I'd like to thank everybody who contributed. Your generosity and friendship mean a lot. I'm locking this topic -- we're close enough to our funding goal that I'll be able to work the rest out with Nayleen. Kendjin Solidbatman Tay Nayleen Nohman Luch Steve THANK YOU!

    Hi!

If you enjoyed Katawa Shoujo, I'd recommend going for Sharin no Kuni, Himawari no Shoujo. I think you'd enjoy it. Many of the other "classics" are also good suggestions, too. Katawa Shoujo was my first VN and I loved it. Many VNs have similar themes -- was there a part of KS that you especially loved?
  19. Oooh. That's a really good suggestion. Good thinking, Albedo! It's got very simple English, with simple Japanese translations accompanying it. Two birds in one stone.
  20. PM a moderator if you need this thread re-opened. Locked for now.

    Hi

Welcome! Glad to have you with us!

    Hello

VNs can be a blast. Feel free to ask around for suggestions based on your tastes. Welcome!
  23. They're for PC. There are very few transleted psp VNs in general, due to complications when hacking and editing the code.
  24. Hello everybody, I'm sad to say that Batman has decided to resign as a moderator on the forums. I'd like to thank him on behalf of Fuwanovel for all of his contributions, his time, and his friendship. He's one of the nicest and smartest people I've met, and there are few people I have a higher regard for than him. We wish batman the best. I highly recommend following him on twitter, twitch and on his blog.
