  1. You're right again, lol. I didn't saw the arrows over the cd icons. So we're getting a full digital download, a booklet and badges? Is this booklet physical or digital? Makes no sense to include a digital download with additional, physical goodies Would be nice if @Conjueror could pop in here and disperse some of the misconceptions.
  2. Ah, right. My bad, the 65$ tier excludes the booklet. That's a pity. Unless you go for 80$ tier, it's there along with the physical release. Actually, those tiers are set up slightly funilly up till 300$, which is the whole physical package (Collector's Edition, propably). Not sure if it's possible, but I hope they will slightly adjust the lower tiers, or add a package without the badges and straps but full standard release (game + OST + booklet + nice box to display on a shelf). I think a lot of people would agree with that. Badges are cool, but more would propably prefer the whole standard physical release at a more affordable price.
  3. It's clearly written: Icons below clearly depict you get the game both as digital and physical releases. Unless this will change, we're getting an excellent package at an really affordable price. I'm really tempted to actually fork over cash for this, but 300$ is a bit too much for a one time payment in my case. That is, unless I'm planning to live on hot water and roots for the rest of the month
  4. The booklet is already a part of 45$ tier. 65$ gets you all of that plus a full physical standard edition release.
  5. Not sure about you guys, but the 50$ tier seems like a fucking. Good. Deal. Not only that, all of the lower tiers seem to be extremely well balanced. I don't recall a single KS, where you could get a fully translated 60h+ game with full soundtrack included for mere 35 bucks. Add 15 more and you get an actual physical copy. Another 15$ gives you full standard release in physical format (game + ost + booklet). That's just great.
  6. I like your sense of humor.
  7. >MFW people still mention Dovac
  8. I'm not really happy with the split release, but hot damn. This team restores my faith in the english community and fan translation. I only hope I'd be able to fork over enough cash in time for a Collector's Edition and I want it signed by Gare
  9. I can only imagine, if this ever gets released in english via SP, it will cost almost twice as much. Would be a nice thing for collectors, or those who want to grab a full package of all the Grisaia games.
  10. Don't use those terms. Those are plain free updates, or future expansions, whichever you like more. In such case, it does not make the game cooler, neither makes the devs/publishers smarter; it's just plain silly and inappropriate.
  11. Too much ES.
  12. Meh. As usual, you buy in the dark, as most of the items aren't even disclosed yet. GG, Frontwing. Hayashi is a Frontwing fanboy, don't even bother
  13. Why? She'll just propably end up at his home and he'll end up in her panties. Happy conclusion, ne?
  14. Glad you liked it. Welcome aboard!

    I'm sold
  16. Odin Sphere's great. Get it, if you'll have the chance. You can skip on Ar Nosurge, tho.
  17. It's fun to watch but it baffles me a lot of people consider it something exquisite, while it's slightly above mediocre. It's a classic example of a company that tries to milk one of their franchises, because they are in deseprate need of money and know it will sell, as long as they meet expectations of their fanbase. If it fails tho, they are fried.
  18. I guess they ran out dry from money. Time to milk some more.
  19. Actually, classic term of eroge does not only apply to visual novels with sexual content. In Japan an "eroge" is any game that features explicit sex scenes, it only got deluded a while ago, when people began to use it more frequently for 18+ vn's; in overall though, it's a term that applies also to a wide range of games - from card games to various SLG's (including the so called "rape" games etc). For example, Schoolmate is considered an eroge, although it is not a visual novel. Eroge is a portmanteau of "erotic game", no more, no less.
  20. that's what I hope for - that they won't stop, no matter what. I have some high expectations, mainly due to them being open to bring small and solid doujin titles more than any other company around, aside from Fruitbat Factory. Let's be honest - they grew up from two people into a small company; they have certain skills other companies don't have, because they approach their job on a more personal level.
  21. Don't underestimate the power of weeb.
  22. I don't plan to. You can't only look from one perspective, you have to take everything that happens into account. As much as rumors and speculations can't be considered a concrete base for information, they always contain a grain of truth, because they are still based on whatever's going around. Digging them up might actually reveal some interesting facts from time to time, especially if you're in the dark. SP did give themselves bad reputation in the japanese industry and devs are already aware of what's going on in the western market. They are actually following news preety closely. Regardless, we're discussing business - whatever happens on that part of the job is mostly irrelevant where money speaks the most. Japanese devs aren't any different, but they don't like incompetence, as it often leads to bad decisions backfiring and failure. Those have no place in gamedev, unless you desperately want to close. Eitherway, we're on the rise of a new trend. It's hard to predict what will future hold for us, but it's one where publishing companies are slowly losing their ground against in-house publishing. This is especially prevalent for the japanese devs, as they tend to minimize production costs as much as possible and many of them don't even have the budget, nor reputability to strike a deal with large publishing companies. It's where Mangagamer, Jast and SP took the liberty of handling all the middleman processes, but with the rise of digital distribution and better workload methods, their influence is clearly diminishing. As much as right now we're seeing more vn's published than ever, it might as well be the highest point publishing companies managed to reach; soon enough, more and more studios will begin to handle publishing all by themselves, following in-house translations and companies like Jast and MG might find it harder and harder to actually secure good licensing deals, because all of the major players on the japanese market won't be needing them anymore. Fortunately, their market is preety big and I don't think any of this will happen anytime soon.
  23. Don't buy Yoga. Buy an XPS. They are decent all-runners and you also get a solid warranty from Dell.
  24. You're propably reading into it too deeply. It was obvious they won't ever close their doors. What's obvious though is that bad PR led to a chain of events, which ultimately took us away a couple of decent licenses. Some of these games we won't see tl'ed, others will propably pop up later. Whatever happens, if Maitetsu will somehow flop, it might actually mean the end of licensing deals for SP and it's not really about SP being bad at publishing, but the exact drama (manufactured or not) people caused, that makes a lot of japanese developers back off and not want to deal with western releases. The short term impact was minimal, but long term effects are still to be seen. Ever wondered why SP began to publish more western projects and we've seen a steady decline in high quality japanese releases? My gut feeling tells me Maitetsu might be one of the last. Hopefully not.
  25. There was a lot of drama involved with wild guess speculations and rumors, including the idea that SP might actually disband. I'm not a person to judge others, but after what he did, Dovac shouldn't even show his face in public anymore, at least not within this community; not without at least a tiny bit of penitence and remorse. I like SP as a whole, but what Dovac did was incredibly immature and lowered an already low esteem regarding SP; tl&dr it hurts their business (which in overall, most of us could give a rats' ass about) and hurts the entire industry, too. The latter is something everyone of us should care about, because it affects us as consumers and developers. SP did lost a handful of promising contracts after the whole mess and I even remember Dovac complaining about how stupid it all was. He is a skilled guy, but should just keep his mouth shut and focus on work instead. Two, simple, short tweets. That's what it takes to literally almost kill a business that took years to build. Conclusion? Don't do PR if you're oversensitive
