  1. Narcosis

    Tenkiame

The only august release worth picking up ̄ー ̄ I'm glad you liked it.
  2. I have to disappoint you. Mortals don't work in the anime industry.
  3. I think they bundle tissues with eroge for different reasons, but that just might be me Nice choice, Aaron. You won't be disappointed.
  4. Are you for real, guys? Don't forget kids are still reading these forums It was nice listening to your rants, as usual; high ammounts of salt guaranteed. I may not entirely agree with you on everything, but you made a couple of valid points regarding western publishers, shady business practices and issues of paid fan translation vs. professional translation (which again, doesn't really exist).
  5. NSFW Yes, *cough* non-porny *cough*. Not to mention Inganock depicts a relationship between an adult man and an underaged girl in it's purest form. I think you're going a little bit overboard on what might, and might not happen. If anything, there's a chance for the Steampunk Collection, but don't expect any of the original 18+ games on Steam anytime soon. Yurirei-san is suddenly making a lot of press coverage; too bad most of it is the kind of news you often see on the first pages of tabloids. Even tha japanese game news coverage sites are already talking about it. I actually wonder how are the guys at Liar-Soft feeling now. In one way or another, it's a chance for MG to gain more publicity for themselves and visual novels as a genre; the rest depends on them and their approach to this whole situation.
  6. Just like they allowed SG in the first place? I'd rather have some sort of a control system based on a proper set of principles, than allow mindless hordes to upvote everything, no matter how bad it is. Here's the deal, though: if Yurirei-san gets on Steam and does well (most propably will, cause yuri), it will show devs it's actually worth to put effort into higher quality content as well. More devs might follow in their footsteps and we'll get more vn's, that are something more than a fucking excuse to show boobs. More devs will be encouraged to produce high quality 18+ content and most importantly, it will open gates for the japanese industry. I think we all want that, badly. I also think Steam can actually live without Nukige.
  7. You won't even need that much. It's a Honoka event, after all
  8. People often forget that erotica ≠ porn. You don't really need to (and actually shouldn't) show genitals, if you aim for a higher quality work that touches on the sexuality as one of it's subjects. It's what discerns sacrum from profanum. I'm not saying there's no place for good ol' eroge-style porn, but it's not the kind of content creators should actually focus on in case of story-driven visual novels. What we need are games with meaningful erotic content - one where it happens not just to please the readers, but have some impact on both the story, characters and people who play those games; leave something behind. The only thing I am concerned about, is that we propably don't have enough good writers to tackle it. It's really easy to create porn and extremely difficult to turn it into a touching story; a valuable form of artistic expression. In any way, I'm rooting for all the people, who are trying to change the way we perceive erotic content in entertainment. I hope this will open up Steam to allow more 18+ content and push creators to strive for better quality, even if it remains a bit forced ("You can't have straight porn, but if the story's good enough we might actually allow it"). If that succeeds, who knows what might the future hold for us all. In any way, it's an interesting situation to follow and I can't wait to see the results, whatever they may be.
  9. I think... I don't really care anymore.
  10. I'm here to wish this AMAAAZZZING character a happy birthday. Happy birthday, Miku!
  11. Hang in there, man. It won't last forever.
  12. >ABSTRACT SYMBOLISM >CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT It's only ice cream ̄ー ̄ Who cares Monmusu's ridiculously silly. It's entertaining as hell. Papi is all I need.
  13. VNDB is your best friend. You can start from here. Also, best thread title 2015. Very mislead, much awkward. Wow.
  14. There's a wide range of neat possibilities one could do in such case, considering you'd become a self-conscious, standard ghost. Tease women, peep on gals, flip their skirts, touch boobies or go full pervert mode. Visit places, you'd otherwise wouldn't be allowed to enter Check on your friends and family and see how are they doing. Haunt places for fun, scare people off. Posess people or animals to do good/bad deeds. Use your ghastly powers to help others, or avenge past grievances. Look for other ghosts and try to get in touch with them. Find a cute ghost girl, get together and live hapilly ever after for the rest of eternity (?) The possibilities are nearly endless ̄ー ̄
  15. Honestly, I couldn't care less. I'm not a big fan of Reddit/4c, since majority of those sites are full of circlejerking clowns. Of course, I have my own concerns as well - using someone else's work as your own isn't exactly the best thing to do, moreso when you're making money from it. It's a complete lack of respect towards the original creators. On the bright side, with the ammount of money they're earning every month they could easily hire a decent japanese artist full time. If I recall correctly, the guy responsible for the original artwork is currently looking for a job. If things really went the way they did, I'd cosider getting in touch with him/her as soon as possible and simply strike a deal; that way, everyone's going to be happy, there's no need to make it a bigger mess than it already became. Taxcup - I played the game and enjoyed it a lot. I was honestly surprised with the quality of writing - it wasn't anything incredible, but dialogues felt really natural and coherent, while setting and characters made everything fun. I'd really wish to see more short eroge like this and it would be a shame if your team would be involved in some sort of shady business; I know you can do better, if that's the case. I'd advise to drop the flash and move onto Ren'Py, or GM/Unity, though. Considering the resource/efficiency factor, Ren'Py would propably be the best engine of choice for you.
  16. The demo is actually a short preview of sorts. It's still goddamn awesome. If that's how the whole game will look like, I'm completely sold. It's incredibly atmospheric, mainly because of the soundtrack, snarky writing and crisp pixel art. I could listen to that kind of music for hours. Play it, it's going to take you 10-15 minutes at most and it's well worth it. I'm going to support the devs and grab the preview. It's rare for me to make such a quick judgement based on a short demo, but that's how good VA-11 Hall-a is.
  17. FU, Exterminator. You're going to be one of the reasons I left
  18. Save a lot. Visual novels usually have a lot of savegame slots, not without a reason. You could preety much save during every single decision point and it's advised to do so, as it makes replaying a lot easier.
  19. [WARNING: This post contains excessive amount of salt. I take no responsibility for ruining your day, whatsoever. You have been warned.] Well, this is the end, guys. I failed the event, landing at the worst possible position, just behind the winners. I actually got 3 scouting tickets. Not even a single SR. I got the new rare Honoka and snow halation Nico, but who'd care about these. Scouting with tickets gave me another scouting coupon. Considering the new cards, that came out, I did draw. I thought that, maybe, perhaps, I will finally get a new UR, or at least the new Nozomi/Nico. I'd be happy. ...and I got a pure Umi card from the last scouting, instead. Chinese dresses aren't really even my thing. That's my second completely failed coupon scouting in a row. It was the last straw, that broke the camel's back. The upcoming Hanayo event will be my last one. I'm retiring from LLSIF afterwards.
  20. When I used to think about the future of vn's, I never used to take Steam into account; mainly because it was way too fresh. We couldn't foresee it will grow to become such a major player on the market and impact even the japanese game industry. Should I be sad, or should I be happy? From one perspective, it's good to see japanese devs adjusting to the current needs and market, but being adjusted doesn't always mean "successful", or good. At the bottom of my heart, I crave for fully translated, adult games, without any sort of censoring or family-friendly pandering. I'd like for them to remain the same they used to be - true to themselves. On the other hand, it's more a matter of Steam policy and as we seen it, Steam remains flexible as well. There's a high possibility they might actually change their policies to allow certain 18+ games on board. Until then, we have to get used to devs confining their creativity in order to sell their games.
  21. Is this some kind of an anime plot?
