  1. You forgot about Epic and CliffyB. Wider conspiracy, or is it large companies growing tired of overambitious, douche game developers? Regardless of that, I still respect Hideo Kojima; he's one of those very few people within the game industry that really deserve the applause.
  2. The whole console market is a decaying mess. The only viable alternative nowadays are handhelds. The most funny thing is that it's the console creators themselves who made that happen. Oh, how I love a good irony. PS. Consoles are shit anyway.
  3. Hope you had fun~ I must have been really bored this time, since I ended up in T1 without sweat. Hanayo might be the least popular girl in the series, but that doesn't change the fact she has her own small cult following. Ceris needs to get a life ( ̄ー ̄)
  4. Don't watch it? There's no reason to force yourself to do things you don't like.
  5. Nowadays, VA is the most expensive part within the development process, be it games, visual novels or anime. As stated above, the longer the game, the more taxing it gets on the budget; this is why very long games tend to have unvoiced chapters or remain only partially voiced. Although the main reason is often tied to financial and time constraints (rushed release dates), some games tend to leave the voicing out of different reasons. Not all visual novels require voice acting; I'd even go as far to say not a single one of them needs to be voiced and while voice acting is always a nice addition the art and writing themselves are the major tools which immerse the readers. Certain visual novels vary in aesthetics as well and some works might simply consider VA an unnecessary adition.
  6. I wonder whether it was intentional on the part of creator, or is it just horrible character creation. Perhaps both.
  7. > successful adaptation Joke's on you.
  8. There's no hope for anime anymore, that's for sure.
  9. I really can't stand the modern communities nowadays. Both the developers and publishers do everything they can to ensure the hapiness of all the parties, yet fans still complain. I'm perfectly fine with Jast taking this kind of approach in case of Shiny Days. As long as they will keep their promise and release the missing content afterwards, it's perfectly fine. Those who still object in this case are the downfall of humanity and I pity them as consumers, as they are the direct reason why we can't have nice things anymore.
  10. They really want to ruin their reputation that badly?
  11. More like, read a lot, write even more. Not everyone is a born writer; some people have it easier, but everyone can write. The key lies in developing your own inner voice and a set of tools. There's also imagination, which plays a huge role in everything you pour down onto paper, but isn't necesarilly tied to anything. The rest is a matter of constant practice. You'll know when it happens, because it's magic that often changes your life.
  12. The vast majority of eroge has badly written sex scenes anyway and it happens for a reason. There's just a bunch of titles, that managed to pull off erotic content in a different way, remaining aesthetically encouraging whilst retaining it's function to please the readers; even then, little can be considered someting more than shallow entertainment and the line between sacrum and profanum is incredibly thin.
  13. It's mostly outdated, but substantial enough. As for the customs - US is well known for it's rigorous and stiff-necked customs service and we're talking about imported stuff which is outright illegal in most states. You're just asking for trouble and in the end, it will only depend on guys receiving your package. If someone has a stick up in their arse, lolicon manga or animu figurines will be as evil to them as drugs or guns (oh, the irony). As for the Miller test, it was designed as a prevention mechanism; it will always result in a positive, it's been made like that and for a good reason. US was always a one, huge mormon hole; I pity the people who live there.
  14. Lately, a lot. Basically almost any anime I watch at the moment has something that makes me want to facepalm hard. Every time when you think you finally found something that doesn't suck enitrely, it's like devs just wait in anticipation to ruin everything with another episode.
  15. The definition of "badass" and "realistic enviroments" around here makes me want to cry. FYI, 90% of visual novel characters do not meet majority of the basic criteria for one to be called a badass and in most cases, they are DEFINATELY not main characters.
  16. Since when laws existed to help people and make things better for societies in general? Please remind me, cause I can't even remember. UK has been exibiting a growing tendency for this kind of attitude since 2005; when David Cameron took the chair of Prime Minister, everthing regarding freedom has been constantly fumbling down and it's unlikely to stop, since the british conservatives are the last people you'd ever want to see working in any goverment. It doesn't really matter they have a lot of other things to do, they will cotinue to restrict free access to the internet, ban cartoon porn completely and put all the blame on you instead. One of the reasons I never considered going to UK for work was the fact I'd simply feel like in a jail over there. Judging from their latest approach regarding certain issues, it wouldn't be an overstatement to say we have a second "People's" Republic of China growing. The fact it's located so close is giving me goosebumps.
  17. Point out as single country in this world, that hasn't got it's laws all f*cked up. This goes especially for anything regarding child porn (or "pornographic content" in general), morally ambigious stuff and anything else that might (or may not) offend your goverment officials. The moral police is waiting just over the corner for you to make a single mistake, so they can get you jailed along with other criminal scum, including murderers, rapists, psychos etc. and they will do everything they can to make your life miserable. We're living in a very funny age, where police can raid your house and jail you for a bunch of pixels, while a real sex offender next door might just be preying on another (underaged) victim. Another factor is that: 1. The more influence certain radical/conservative factions have in your country, the harder it is to voice your opinions (actually, no - as long as that opinion isn't against theirs, which rarely happens) 2. Anything regarding minors is sacred. Aside from that, some countries are fucking prude and you won't change that no matter what, mainly because #1 makes anything you'd like to change irrelevant right from the start. If anyone would like to make this world a better place, he'd have to nuclear bomb half of it first and pray so that no more new radical religions sprout out. You can't heal stupidity, that's for sure.
  18. I quit. At least for now.
  19. It's hard to play with a running nose.
  20. Talk about being incredibly lucky. This game is all about RNG. But you shouldn't even joke about being casual, when the top ranking players are wasting thousands of dollars to justify their superiority. There's nothing pro in that kind of attitude. Then, there are players who pay to win, but remain bad, no matter how good teams they're able to build. The biggest enjoyment comes from being able to FC all the songs by yourself and it's great to achieve that after days or weeks, fighting the ones that aren't easy. Too bad I didn't managed to get the ticket, since my Smile team is the weakest of all. Yet, I don't feel regret, maybe because I haven't got anything from them since the very beggining.
  21. I already ran out of stones long ago, then stuff happened and I managed to get two more just in time. I'm still floating around ~500 in ranking, along with additional tokens saved for dark hour; it's quite surprising, considering the previous Rin event. Now if I could only FC Mermaid Fiesta on EX, but I always get a stray miss somewhere. More stones wouldn't hurt, especially right now but I doubt I'll ever manage to FC that song with my phone, uh. I wonder, whether I'll actually manage to fit within 2500 before the end. Everything seems good so far, but nothing ever ends good with the events unless you have a constant stream of stones available at hand. I kind of regret wasting those 25 stones trying single draws beforehand.
  22. As if discussions about the world, philosophy and universe weren't enough around here.
  23. What the hell is going on here. I just wanted to point out, this is prevalent in any game which runs on microtransactions, including a huge majority of modern mmo's. There are games, which include cash shops with vanity items only, but they make a tiny fraction. It's because gaming was always part about competition and unlike sports, it isn't deemed necessary to play fair - in general, as long as you're not found cheating, not a thing can be done about it; thus, a lot of players with minority complex will use other means to prove superiority and boost their egos. This is, of course, favorable both for developers and publishers, because it brings in a lot more profit. You could argue there are ways to milk money out of playerbase without reducing fair competitivity, but it will never bring as much money as when you sell real advantage over other players. It's because both developers and players are way too lazy and aim for instant gratification over challenge. People who waste thousands of euros/dollars/pounds just to obtain a bunch of preety anime girls and huge score are really funny, but no matter how much they will spend, it won't ever be enough to fill that hole within their hearts. <3
