I'd just use the literal translation there... this some kind of mystery stuff?
And directly in the man's line of vision were the unconscious bodies of four purple concealed under the floor(bed?).
Did something happen? Like when a blindfold that had been affixed for a long period of time finally being taken off, I turn around, and consider the situation left before me.
The half bentou that was missing from the shelf, the people who obtained the half bentou in the fridge, emptyhanded and acting surprised in front of the bentou corner, and finally the people who obtained the box of spirits「霊の籠」.....
// It's not in kanji, it might be 霊の加護 which would be closer to spiritual blessing/protection [protection of the spirits]
Something happened. There's no doubt about it, something happened.
Did レジ always mean fridge? I also find it kind of weird they use 並ぷ instead of 並ぶ.
Unless it's a proper name, 霊の籠 makes no sense, especially in this context.

I've been going over this sentence... but just having trouble with it. It just sounds kind of strange to me, so I wanted to check.
Main character (observation): 見た目の幼さと対照的な冷めた瞳に引きつけられる。
Here's the scene if it may help make more sense (some spoilers)
The girl is troubled about a friend's problem regarding family problems. She talks about it with the main character. Main character says he feels bad about the situation, but the girl says she thinks about it differently. She says she thinks the friend is actually lucky.
Then the sentence comes up
Main Character: 見た目の幼さと対照的な冷めた瞳に引きつけられる。
Scene switches to a melancholy atmosphere of the girl talking about how the friend is lucky because at least she has a family. On the other hand, her family is gone.

I guess most people don't actually expect hobbyists to put in 6 hours of work a day. Hell, do the "professionals" who get commissioned by MG/JAST/whoever put in even that much effort?
Not that I'm complaining, that's some serious dedication.
It's not really a matter of "effort," it's just how long you can work without burning yourself out - which I guess depends on the individual. Personally, my limit is two hours before my translations become robotic and I lose the ability to create coherent English sentences. I am guessing that is why TL quality fluctuates in Ixrec's case.

How would you translate the 霊のカゴ part? I think I got everything else but this is just killing me. I am really bad with the の particle for some odd reason. Thanks.

Ixrec used to work at around 300-500 lines a day back in his heyday, but he was kind of fast and loose with his translations and quality suffered.
Truer words have never been spoken.

I'm not asking you to do anything, I'm just chatting with you- the phrase was fine, this is just small talk. This may require a G&C thread, though.
I don't think it's tactful to go off-topic right off the bat on someone else's thread (or he might get the impression that nobody cares about his OP). With that being said, let's end here.

If you really want to keep pushing that button, the logic behind "I said thanks, thus my statement was polite" is still messed up. As you said, it's not impolite when the statement in question really has no "impolite" connotations to begin with- the thanks does absolutely nothing there.
"Please" and "thank you" express suggestions and courtesy, instead of making them look like commands. Wouldn't you agree that adding them to a neutral statement is almost reflexive when you are trying to be polite? If you would much rather I edit both those out of all of my previous posts across all forums, I will gladly do so. You know, to free up the bytes of database space.
Jokes aside, I really don't know what you are asking me to do at this point.

Also (and completely unrelated) "please" doesn't make a phrase polite. I'm fairly sure if I went to someone and said "stop being an annoying douchebag, please" they'd have the same reaction as if I said it without the "please"~
That is completely unrelated, because you are comparing my statement to a slur of derogatory terms - of which I did not use.
Also, from what I understand, you are supposed to gather translators from the Skills Registration Thread and start your own project, instead of requesting someone else to do it for you (that's what I was told when I first joined). Finally, let's face it, no translator is going to dedicate up to a year of their life working on a game for somebody else (for free, at least; and especially not if their client's reasons are simply that they want some "lovely Yuri" to read over the holidays). If a translator wants to work on a game, he will work on it without all these requests posts.

I apologize for the inconvenience. Can you then please tell me where I could make these requests? A request board or some person open to requests. I searched on Google without much success. Found some translators that haven't been active in a few years.
Long story short, you can make translation requests but not many will care.

I'm not sure how welcome is request topic here, but according to what I have seen with that typical clipboard-translation-chain (which was horrible), this is the best Yuri visual novel ever created. According to art, I believe it's originally aimed at male audience, but it is still soft and romantic. It is simultaneously a magical fighting game. Main character is female and she's very cute and by the clipboard-translation seems quite feminine too.
Anyway, don't find this as a massive beg. Find this as a notification that there's something damn good out there worth your translating time, because I know what I'm talking about and I know some of you will love what they see or hear about it.

Anyone who is having trouble learning kanji should check out this site:
It's not a perfect system, but it's a hell of a lot easier to remember and a much more logical progression than any textbook or other site will give you. The writer's language is pretty coarse and he uses a lot of Yo Mama jokes as mnemonics, but if you can look past that it is a super useful system. I was pretty much stuck in my kanji studies, forgetting as many as I learned, until I found this place. Now I can easily recall the meanings of kanji and even how to write them. It's given me a huge boost in a short period of time, and I imagine if I give it a full year or so I'll easily have all 1,300 kanji on the site memorized.
Appreciate the thought, but not the right place to post this.
