  1. This is more of a general question but how do you usually translate "ne" for emphasis. I thought translating it as "see" might work but it sound too stereotypically Italian and not childish enough. I want that nice childish way of speaking that is always saying "ne" "ne" so that you pay attention to them.

Depends on context, but if it's just "ね" alone I usually just translate it to "Hey".

  2. Hi everyone!!! I'd like to ask for someone's help on translating a few images for Koirizo. Our image TL got kinda stumped with some sentences so I thought I'd ask here for help.

Our TL isn't sure about some parts for this one, so I though I'd ask about it as well.

Here's the current translation we have:

    Sys_Dialog+PNAP+010.png

we have "Returning to choice position. Are you sure?" for this one. It might have some other meaning, but I haven't seen it in-game so I can't check where it really appears and what it confirms you to do. I added it here anyway in case anyone has thought of a better TL for it.

just the CV for this one. we're not sure about it.

    Thanks! :D

    1) zoom909 got it.

    2) I'd translate some parts more carefully, since this is a legal disclaimer. For example, "Those who participate in reproduction, transfer, modification, or public transmission of this work will be punishable by law" should be "those who illegally reproduce..." and " all images included in this work are protected under copyright" should be amended to include "videos".

    3) That sounds plain weird. Are you sure it's not asking if you want to return to the previous choice? Or more likely, is it referring to the name of a menu?

    4) Easily googled. http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E6%B3%A2%E5%A5%88%E6%9D%9F%E9%A2%A8%E6%99%AF

  3. i see but everywhere i can find something it just said i change the local and non unicode language and it will work

Uninstall, change to Japanese Locale, and reinstall. Make sure you are running the ENGLISH .exe

Also, some people have this issue if their installation directory isn't located in C:\ but I never had that problem myself.

  4. Every time i try to post a comment on a VN It doesn't show. I've also tried clearing my cache and cookies but Still no luck  :( Is this happening to anyone else

What browser are you using? When you click 'Save,' does it refresh the page without your comment showing?

  5. That's true, but I think in this case, it's necessary, since he's specifically referring to it, and his statement doesn't make much sense without it

just a small question. Would "my tummy's rumbling" be too cutesy of a translation for もうお腹ペコペコ? the character talking usual speaks in a fairly cutesy way, I'm just not sure if "my tummy's rumbling" is overdoing the cuteness or not.

It's up to the translator. Personally, I would never use that phrase - and that is not an issue with it being 'cutesy' or not.

  6. 偏差値 = English "Z-score", a statistical term that many people would be unfamiliar with (including me, I looked it up on JP wikipedia)

Yes, but I'd advise against using words no one knows in a translation of any game, unless it's unavoidable to do so.

  7. Alright so here's the context:

    「へぇー、これは凄い」

    「どうされたんですか、鷺ノ森先生」

    「さっき言ったテストの採点をしてたんですが……みんな凄いですね。ちょっと侮ってましたよ」

    「どんな問題を出されたんですか?」

    「世界史と日本史、近代史をそれぞれ全般的に。レベルを計るためのテストですからね」

    「ボクとしては平均正解率が半分ぐらいかと思ったんですが……まさか、8割近いとは思いませんでしたよ」

What I need help with are the two lines that come after that:

    「もしかして、かなり偏差値が高いんですか?」

    「どうでしょうか……その手の数値はよくわからないので」

"Does that mean the average score is quite high?"

"Well since you don't understand (the numbers)... How should I put this?

And when I asked for context, I meant background info as well - not just lines. I have no idea what the scene is about, or who's talking.

  8. The Green is the Translation. The purple is the part I am not sure about at all. The rest is more or less. This is my first translation.

研ぎ澄まし 切り裂いて Sharpen and Slash Through (Unless this is a title you don't need all these random capitals)

(Your brave is blade cuts night,

    breaks dawn!

Your words is sword save the world,

    shows crown!)

何を知りたいの?ねぇ、教えてよ What do you want to know? Say, tell me.

祈りは天へ届かない… Your (take in mind who the speaker is, even if there is no direct subject attached - that is how Japanese works) prayers won't reach the heavens

君は微笑み「護りたい」とだけ言った You smiled and merely (different nuance) said "I want to protect"

強くあることの本当の意味を貫くUsurper Usurper that pierces the true meaning of strength

詳らかに語ってよYour Soul Tell me in detail (staying too close to original makes Eng weird), Your Soul.

神話を紡ぐ言葉に With the words that spin the legend

重ねた想いが繋いだ絆 The bond formed by our overlapping feelings

その勇気は顕われたBLADE Your courage materialized into a BLADE (tense issue)

扉を開き 奇跡を簒奪って! Open the doors, steal the miracle

目を閉じて 交わしあって… Close your eyes and our eyes meet

手を伸ばし 掴まえた…未来  Stretched out your hand and took hold of (too literal) the future

たった一つだけの答えを、君は知った There is only one answer, and you knew it all along

強くなることで喪った弱さ救済ってあげる By becoming stronger, I will cast away my weakness to save you

永遠に傍にいさせてYour Side  Let me be by your side for eternity

まつろわない運命の果て The result of this unchanging fate

求めた願いが砕けても、きっと Even if the wish is broken surely,

その勇気で歌ってよAUBADE Sing with that courage an AUBADE (awkward line)

闇夜を抜けて 明日へ攫ってEscape from the dark night and seize tomorrow

研ぎ澄まし 切り裂いて Sharpen your blade (extrapolation; your original line makes no sense) and slash through

強くあることの本当の意味を教えてくれた… You taught me the true meaning of strength

永遠に聴かせてほしいのYour Words For eternity, let me listen to your words

神話を紡ぐ言葉で  With the words that spin the legend

繋いだ絆が起こした奇跡 Bonds that brought on this miracle

その瞳に輝いたBRAVE Those eyes shined with bravery

扉を開き 総てを簒奪ってOpen the doors, steal the miracle!

    明日へ攫ってSeize tomorrow!

(Your brave is blade cuts night,

    breaks dawn!

Your words is sword save the world,

    shows crown!)
