  1. I only mentioned that era because for the rest of 2015/16 I did bugger all, and nothing happened on the site. The only reason I dislike that PM, is how self-important/narcissistic I acted through some of it. I am presumptuous by nature, but in retrospect, I just believe I overdid it there. Nevertheless, yes, I suppose that was a productive discussion, so far as those go.
  2. You weren't on the egg I made last year, and I couldn't really think of how to put you on this one. This made me forget to mention you when writing that thing. I was also rushing, really hard, because of lunch. I was going to edit you in, but since you just made such a pathetic whine, too bad.
  3. I've waited almost a year for this. Finally. I'm sure it'll be glorious. Now then. This year, I'll celebrate Easter by sharing my genuine and honest opinion of many Fuwanovel members. Mostly those I happen to remember. You can also request it yourself if I don't mention you by default. A fair warning, whilst I don't often think ill of someone, there are some I might. A thousand apologies. Besides that, I also have a little game (some of you may remember it, I tried it our last year, but due to circumstances, was unable to finish it). I've updated it a little (though most characters are still out of date), and this time I do have the solutions! If you've been pinged in this post, you're probably in there, unless you aren't. Can you find yourself? Each image represents a member (or two). Can you guess them all? GUESS WHO: Anything you say about this must be in spoilers. Many things can be seen as clues, so I'm adamant about this. Besides that, onwards to opinions. These are in a brainstorm thoughtspill format. Not coherent. Too bad. For you. OBJECTIVE OPINIONS OF FUWANOVEL PLEBS: Most of those people are in the egg. Some people in the egg aren't there. This all said, here's the solution, but be sure to at least try first. Even though some are pretty much impossible to guess. EGG SOLUTION: Now I'm off to have lunch and realise I forgot something really important. Happy Easter, people!
  4. As SolidBatman mentioned, the reviews are to have a particular style and obey certain parameters. "Make sure to read a review or two from our team to get an idea of how we review games, and the style of our reviews. We are looking for someone willing to adapt to our style of avoiding spoilers as much as possible, being clear and concise, and not sugar coating what we think of any particular game. So things like individual route reviews, showing a strong bias against a genre because it goes against your tastes, and super wordy reviews are a no-no. " And besides, some of the people who make reviews are offered a position on the team, presuming their style isn't entirely different from what the reviews team is looking for. I'll have you pardon me in case I missed your point, I might not be fully awake currently.
  5. You're clearly contradicting yourself, but besides that, what's so unexpected about me praising a game based on pure love? That's the thing I look for the most in VN's. Sure, my definition of 'pure love' is as encompassing as it gets (who says a nukige can't be about pure love?), but this one certainly fits in with the more traditional definitions and is well within my strike zone. On the other hand, I'm not sure I'd recommend it to you, of all people, because most of it is not voiced, and I know how much you love all your commodities. you whippersnapper.
  6. Still playing Kindred Spirits on the Roof. One of the light criticisms some people have of it seems to be how many of the scenes are essentially repeats from a different point of view. Having read a few, 5 or thereabout, I can say with confidence that I really loved these repeated scenes. Every bloody character seems to be interesting, and reading their thoughts only makes it better. Of course, this is merely a first impression. Who knows how many there actually are in total, and who knows if I won't get sick of it?
  7. Clearly you're trying to hide it. Either that or I'm attempting to trip you up. Regardless of what conclusion you arrive at (though hopefully it isn't one as poor as Mr. Zodai's here), the experiment was a success.
  8. You thought I wouldn't notice? I've got my eye on you, good sir.
  9. I've got well over 10 cousins, probably over twenty. I hardly know most of them, I don't know any names and I only sort of know faces.
  10. So Team Down is fighting Team Kaguya, Team Nosebleed and luck? It seems we may be at a slight disadvantage.
  11. I might have forgotten to inform my team that the RNG gods are currently displeased with me. But I am sure that that in no way contributed to this outcome.
  12. I point you to last terror mission. If the RNG is against you, that's the result of rushing out. Anyway, for most people who play XCom I know (not many) saving civilians in terror missions is a waste of time. They are stupid. They will put themselves between you and the aliens. They will go toward the aliens. They will go toward any proximity explosive you set up. Saving civilians is a waste of your time. If you rush out, you'll probably lose everyone and then the civilians. If you don't lose everyone, you'll lose most of your guys, and you'll still end up only saving a couple of civilians. The only reason we take something as suicidal as a terror mission is to reduce our score loss and not piss off the country too much. -300; -500 is great, compared to not showing up at all. This mission had the civilians all spawn in the opposite four corners of the map, which didn't help at all. The map itself was great, but just about everything else was against me.
  13. Your wish is my command. As for XCOM 2, they turned the setting around, so some mechanics changed. Essentially the ones outside the missions, mostly.
  14. Oh, you needn't worry about team Down. Only people afraid of dying would try to steal it. That isn't to say nobody in Team Down is afraid of dying, but I'm sure they're all feeling confident so long as I'm the biggest target around, you know, as the "general".
  15. It's incredible, what artificial intelligence can do. If Tay weren't artificially created I'd never have found any of this funny. This way it's hilarious.
  16. Discarding the female variants, because I have no female friends to speak of, all applies to me.
  17. Confession: I am a gentleman.
  18. Due to unfortunate happenings, the episode was not ready yesterday. It's ready now, though.
  19. Confession: Never pulled an all nighter. I do, however, have a small problem with constantly waking up in the middle of the night, for up to an hour... Like right now.
  20. You're well aware that's not what I meant... I'd much rather have a cravat than a mere tie.
  21. I'm afraid you'll be disappointed. If you try to kill me, the only colour you'll be painting with is blue.
  22. Currently playing Kindred Spirits on the Roof. I really like how the "protagonist" Yuna feels really cool, even without trying. How would I explain it...? Whereas other cool characters usually feel like they are pretending or forcing it, she doesn't because she is neither pretending nor forcing it most of the time - she panics and acts embarrassed as much as the next girl, but she still manages to be cool the rest of the time. All of her CG's look cool and that helps immensely. Another thing I like about her is how she fills the usual holes that characters leave in conversation. Let's imagine a normal conversation where a character says something that doesn't make complete sense and makes me think to myself about how it doesn't make sense. Yuna, however, always seems to point out what I'm thinking when she thinks to herself. Maybe a character makes an argument with a hole for the sake of persuasion - Yuna doesn't let it slide.
  23. Xcom operatives aren't the only ones who panic... Anyway, this is how a bad terror mission goes. Hopefully I'll be able to show you how to handle one decently in the near future.
  24. Oh, you do realise I'm leading this much the same way I lead X-Com operatives, right? I predict this battle will go something like Mission 4.
