  1. Started it. Seems like something I can consume in small dosage. I feel totally lost on what to watch next. I feel this could be a candidate but I've come to dislike harems by nature, and this bloody well seems like one. See Zero no Tsukaima for a harem that drove me up the walls but was thankfully conclusive, which in turn permitted my finishing it.
  2. Same applies to me in essence. It gets worse when said people are also fans of the same niche genre.
  3. This is the sort of thing you shouldn't be aware it's going to have a twist before going into it. Take Higurashi as an example. If you still want something even though it may spoil the experience, I'll put it in the spoiler below:
  4. You have my utmost gratitude, Tay.
  5. That is true. What appeared to be progress at an astonishing pace was actually nearly none at all. Whilst the anime by itself wasn't enough for me (even though I loved the premise AND main character to bits), I'm pretty sure I ended up liking the manga more. In other news, I'm watching Gatchaman Crowds. Love the protagonist and in general this whole prospect of saving people is quite indeed my thing.
  6. Liking male characters is my thing? That's the first I've heard that said about me... though I can see how it would make sense.
  7. ? Should I google it for you?
  8. If you chaps are interested in bad taste, check out my list, in all its "every single show gets at least a 7" glory. Confession: I played Secret Hitler for the first time yesterday. Turns out I'm a better liar than I thought. I'm not proud or happy about that.
  9. Fairly simple and self-explanatory. What VN should I read right now? There's a poll above, these are my thoughts bellow: Finish Koisuru no Last Resort When I initially played it I was quite liking it. Then I got to an H-Scene. Typically, I'd skip them straight out, but sometimes, when they truly feel love-filled, I read them. The problem? Reading H-Scenes makes me bored beyond belief so I quit. This was almost 4 months ago. Turns out the part I left off at was a rather long (and therefore fantastic) pillow-talk scene. If this VN has more of such things... I'm all for it! Seems like a good choice. Finish Noble Works I was one of the beta-testers for the fan translation of this title. I read three and a half routes in an incredibly short span of time, whilst also combing through the text as well as I could, meaning it exhausted me mentally. Consequently, I was too tired to read the final two routes, both of which with characters I really like. This is going to sound weird, but I haven't read it since the day it released. If I've gotten over my over-saturation, I really liked what I did read and enjoy of this VN. Finish Higurashi no Naku Koro ni and Kai I read the first "episode" of this VN. To be honest, I quite liked it at the time, but it was taking so long I decided I'd watch the anime instead. In all honesty, I loved the anime, particularly the second season. However, this means I actually did never read the original VN. That's something I regret and want to do eventually. Three years (or thereabouts) have passed since I watched the anime. If I'm lucky, I should be able to read this VN without getting bored out of my mind. Finish Gahkthun of the Golden Lightning I never thought there'd be a VN with a female protagonist where she wasn't my favourite character. Turns out there is. But although I don't think much of our protagonist, I really like Tesla. And the setting a bit, mostly because I like history. This VN has an awful lot of slice of life scenes, which makes me like it more than I'd like other titles in the same series. Speaking of series, I'm probably the only one who doesn't like poetic writing style, or in general, the writing style in this VN. I summon @Decayto laugh at me.
  10. I've always known my tastes are rubbish anyway.
  11. There are people who liked some of their titles, such as Sakura Santa! Why must you wish death unto us all because your objective opinion contradicts some other people's? Okay, maybe you don't like the company. That's fine. I still maintain some people like the company, and it makes me sad to see your august self so excited over their perfectly profitable business practices.
  12. You function on random whims. We're of the same kind.
  13. Same for me, having been suckered into owning the game, it is best to try and make use of it. Do note I live on ThE other side of ThE pond, in ThE proper timezone.

  15. I'm totally lost on what to read. I've reached a point where I've got an enormous list and I've read a lot of manga (almost entirely romance related) and I don't know what to read. Currently going to read either http://myanimelist.net/manga/8427/Dousei_Recipe or http://myanimelist.net/manga/729/Emma
  16. And I was soooo into Heaven's Feel I have no idea what this scene was. Would you be so kind as to enlighten me? As for my own preferred menu theme, it's Ikkoi's, which people also seem to hate, on top of the game itself...
  17. Sensible people who enjoyed Sakura Santa do exist. I'm sure some people will enjoy Sakura Dungeon, too.
  18. I'll agree with this. I don't know if the kickstarters are their main source of income, but if they are, the least they could do is making sure the partakers are kept happy. Kickstarter already seems to have some negative connotation to begin with, for no logical reason, so they should endeavour to try and at least keep people happy to overcome the small setback. Instead they seem to actively manage to anger the hardcore fanbase. I'd like to understand whether this is due to poor management, idiocy or if they are just and evil organisation that is planning to take over the world with all ages VN's.
  19. Admittedly, their method has a huge flaw. They make deals and bring over titles by using kickstarter, and then put it on steam so the not already VN fan crowd can either become one or just learn that VN's exist and are a genre. However, the people that do fund kickstarter, that allow them to make all these deals, are the more hardcore fans. The ones who would put over a hundred or over a thousand dollars for their favourite games.
  20. I just don't get why the hell Sekai Project wouldn't aim for already translated titles. It's more cost efficient, faster and goes nicely with their motto of spreading VN's around. Sure, most VN fans may have already played such fan translations, but that's why Sekai Project always goes for steam. In my opinion, they'd be bonkers if they didn't go for fan translated titles when they have the chance.
  21. ... I could have said something of the sort yesterday, but I guess now you've said it for me.
  22. Agreed! Adventure games, puzzle games, other old genre's with textboxes at the bottom are one thing, but hidden object games...?
  23. This is pretty much exactly the same as the list I got.
  24. I'll recommend the two I most enjoyed. Both available for PC. The Second Reproduction - There's two main romance candidates with a third one that also sort of is and I loved it. Some of it is voiced, some of it isn't. Amnesia: Memories - I liked both the romance in this one and the story, because it does have a story to it. Noteworthy is the fact that the main protagonist you play as has neither a voice nor inner thoughts for almost the entirety of the game. Expect to make lots of choices.
  25. Why, yes. I very much think so. I'm not picky at all with my love stories. I can just ignore what isn't convenient.
