Sakura Series Stream ft. OriginalRen & Katatsumuri
Funyarinpa replied to solidbatman's topic in Members' Lounge
For us happy few who were in Ren's Sakura Swim Club stream the impending greatness is apparent. This is going to be wonderful. -
I have an exam for an important course on Monday for which I have to write, memorize and rehearse a monologue. I need to make (or buy) props props for it as well and I can't do that today. End my fucking life ;_;

I was just really happy for Kuu lol

The House In Fata Morgana
-
I meant it in the sense that a longtime member of Fuwa just stated they're playing the direct sequel to (what can be safely assumed is) their favorite VN and how it seems so ordinary. That might sound weird, I'm a weird person lol.

I love no one just acknowledges the importance of this post.

Confession: Doing practically nothing but lowering my gaming time drastically (only to replace it with surfing the web) to change my life and improve myself. I feel like a piece of shit. Taking the ACT (university entrance exam) on Saturday. Wheee

Killing Harmony is a crazy good subtitle. Wonderful double meaning: 1) The killing of harmony, e.g. peace being disrupted 2) a harmony that kills, tying in with Kaede's talent of Ultimate Pianist

The "summon your best worst girl" Thread
Funyarinpa replied to TexasDice's topic in Visual Novel Talk
YU-NO, that Amane chick I guess. -
For me, it really depends on the game and how much I care about the characters' relationships (or, if it's based on self-insert, how much I am attracted to that character). Often, by investment in a given relationship is connected to how it is executed and how it ties into the story. Ever17 had four routes that had romance, and I only cared for the romance in Sora's route, for example- It had some really intriguing themes and executed them in a poignant and thought-provoking way. It was my favorite love story in VNs for a long time. Sora was also beautiful. Two certain characters in Fata Morgana, however, have surpassed Sora and Takeshi's relationship for me. These two characters have an incredibly fleshed out and nuanced relationship that develops in a truly heartfelt way, and ultimately, you end up cheering for the two of them. Will not say much more, but that is half the reason this VN is my VNOTY, GOTY, and in my top 5 VNs. (From a literary perspective, it's only matched by Umineko.) Grisaia's romances in comparison, for example, did nothing for me because pretty much none of the girls clicked with me -nor did their routes except one particular flashback- and it was a banal story if you ask me. Same goes for any sort of romance in Muv-Luv.

What is the VN that you guys most want to see translated?
Funyarinpa replied to Dark Ariel7's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Hmmm... Played almost none of these and played different releases of some of these, but would love to see those particular versions TLd anyway: Remember11, Ever17 and Never7's PSP versions- Would love to have these amazing VNs on the go (via my Vita). The House In Fata Morgana -COLLECTED EDITION- - I would love to have one of my favorite VNs on my Vita. Never happening in English though is it ;_; 12Riven- I really want to read anything similar to Infinity VNs in tone and themes. C;H Noah- Really want to see the precursor to Steins; Gate, again on Vita. YU-NO's remake, so that I can replay it and see how the revamped art style feels. Kamaitachi no Yoru's sequels, Shin Hayarigami games, and Net High are stuff that seem interesting but I don't know much about. -
Do not worry, haha- I deleted everything you wrote yourself in the quote box. All that's in the box is written by me.
-
I apparently quoted you sometime in the past -Fuwa's mobile version saves those things- and when I tried to reply to Fred I couldn't quote him and I couldn't delete your quote either so I had to post it that way. It's also possible for me to edit quotations in a post I am making, which I did with your post (just to be a little tongue-in-cheek, no big reason).
-
Fred, (can't quote you right now for whatever reason), wait until night and then start binging The House In Fata Morgana. It's fucking insane.

What Video Games Are You Playing Right Now?
Funyarinpa replied to solidbatman's topic in Gaming Talk
Giving in to Vita piracy was a bad idea ;-; Started all the games below: 1) Shin Megami Tensei Soul Hackers (3DS)- The cyberpunk feeling was quite nice but there's a lack of worldbuilding. That said, the gameplay is really good. Sweet spot for encounter rate. 2) Persona 2: Innocent Sin- Lovely, lovely game. The characters are great, the art and music is awesome, and the plot has potential with some mystery established early on. Persona awakenings feel so inconsequential though lol. 3) Corpse Party- Tense as fuck. Got close to the end of Chapter 1, but got repeatedly stuck in a place, so on hold for now. 4) God of War- The Vita remaster is pathetically done (font and text looks stretched as fuck, PS2-level graphics, cutscenes straight from PS2 version) but yo-ho, a pirate's life for me- the gameplay is really fun to boot and I like the setting. -
recruiting Chaos;Head Noah PC Port and Translation Project
Funyarinpa replied to DrDaxxy's topic in Translation Projects
Good luck on not getting slapped with a C&D for the port (lay low once you get a translator if you ask me), but besides that, this is interesting and I wish you the best of luck. Any plans to make a TL patch for the Vita version (via homebrew) once the PC port is done and released? -
The House In Fata Morgana -COLLECTED EDITION- for sure. It's an upcoming release AFAIK, but holy hell, what a VN. Really want to give Net High a try as well. There's this one Kamaitachi no Yoru sequel... Shin Kamaitachi or something? That. It's a murder mystery IIRC. There's also a YU-NO remake in the horizon which looks... decent.

Looking for BGM title: Umineko No Naku Koro NI
Funyarinpa replied to Satoshi Mochida's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Which episode was this in? Umineko has well over 150 soundtracks and unless you can point us to the exact moment (say, by finding footage on Youtube or something), then it is very unlikely that we can find the track for you. -
I haven't read it. Is it that good?
-
I guess I'm looking for the sort of thing that makes me feel comfy, or is at least atmospheric. 30-35 hours max. Age doesn't matter (age of the VN). Preferably light on the SoL (really not my deal). Good music and atmosphere. PC, though I could also consider Android It's just that save for the Higurashi releases, there's very little on the horizon I'm really interested in (S;G 0, Root Double's Vita port... that's all I can think of right now.) As for examples, the closest would be something along the lines of Never7. SoL-like, comfy and friendly, but gets intriguing at the end.

I have a lingering feeling that you've established a reputation of a closeted guy for yourself

You do realize that dual audio for P5 was almost an impossibility due to licensing issues, right? Atlus' PR has been saying for a long time now that it was less than likely to have the JP voices in Persona 5, and fans have been asking for it for just as long, if not a longer time. There was no oversight or indifference from either Atlus itself or its USA branch. Persona 5 has an all-star cast, so it is more than likely that there were many hurdles for licensing. I really, really, really don't think that there was any condescending behavior on Atlus' part, here.
