I've always been more for eye-catching stuff, so it works for me. :> 7/10 Edit: Hey guys, I just now decided on a new ava. Give me 5 minutes or so to update. Edit2: Eh, never mind. It's taking me a little longer to re-install Photoshop than I thought. Wait for me if you want, but you don't have to. Okay, I'm done.

I'll keep this short since it's kinda derailing the topic. If you wanna go more into more detail with this, send me a PM. Not sure if this says anything or not, but I've been watching anime since the mid 90s, and I'm still not convinced that this list isn't unfairly biased. P.S.: Free was an awesome anime with really well-written characters. Why the question mark? P.P.S.: I didn't think the UBW remake was all that good from a directional standpoint. I see what you mean. Darn, I thought I found a friend. Welp, that's okay, I'll just keep moving on and continue to admire Iori from the shadows. On another note, I sometimes wonder if Dog Days will ever betray the main pairing. Probably the biggest reason I haven't watched anything after season 1 yet. But for this series, the main pairing really has some fire going. Millhiore is a sweetheart, and the interactions between her and the protagonist (still can't remember his name) are seriously cute. Another show with a nice main pairing is Acchi Kocchi. I wish more anime would follow this kind of formula, but at least they do show up on occasion. Edit: Oh, my mistake. I'm so bad with misinterpretations. >.<

So you're an Iori shipper too? Well, damn, you're the only other person I've met that shares my opinion on that. Every single one of my MAL buddies was an Inaba shipper, and I just thought it sheer rubbish. Imo, Iori had a much more touching backstory and I felt she was more deserving of Taichi. Sure, Inaba has her charm as a tsundere, and did have a few cute scenes, but it still didn't sit right with me. At least Michi Random gave us a really nice story with Iori as the focal point (I actually liked it more than the main series).

I feel you, Nosebleed. Now, there are a few rare shows I've come across where best girl does end up being canon, but it's pretty awful how they won't most of the time. OreImo is a shining example of this, and KoiChoco ends up giving the gold to worst girl too. There was a point in time where I use to think that canon pairings in shoujo would always be the best, but Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun has unfortunately taught me otherwise. The entire time I watched that anime, I was overly frustrated with how annoying the main heroine was. She's pessimistic, only cared about schoolwork, was against the idea of having friends, and then she suddenly develops an interest in the male lead for reasons that don't justify her character. Their interactions were kinda crazy at first, but they grew stale very quickly and it became a chore to keep watching it. But the anime actually became a lot more enjoyable when they focus on another pairing. Now, it's not quite the same as being a rival, but lets just say that the series is written in a way that makes you feel sorry for the girl in the other pairing and it ends up having a similar effect. That said, there is one recent title that manages to ship a sweet and satisfying pairing. In Mikakunin, it was actually the love rival that loses out and canon girl is best girl (though it was kinda thrown in lackadaisically). The pairing was great, the focus and development were where they should be, and I had nothing but praise over how it ended. It's a gem, to say the least. What really gets me is that it wasn't until the later episodes that I realized this series was gonna take its romance seriously. I thought it would be something like Hayate where romance acts as a back-burner that enables other events to unfold. Shoot, most of the earlier episodes were focused on Mashiro.

I like to think I'm cool enough to make this my song.

Oops, I didn't quite phrase that the way I should have. What I meant to ask was what the crystals are used for and why they were being traded for currency.

Okay... so I'm adding DanMachi to my watch list. So much for me keeping it to a few this season. I'll be following FFF for this series, so expect me to be 1 ep behind all you guys for about half the week (currently on 5). It's been a fairly interesting show to watch so far, and I think Hestia's pretty cute. The RPG-like mechanics are implemented well in this series and the explanations of said mechanics are definitely sufficient. The only thing I'm not too sure on are the crystals those monsters drop. It's possible I may have missed a detail or two due to my ADD, but did the anime ever explain what they were for?

I remember reading one of Bosshi's works. Really solid job, but I wouldn't exactly call myself a fan. Haven't tried any of Manabe Jouji works yet, but I'll read one in a little while. While he tends to be really excessive with his fetishes, Hoshino Fuuta writes some pretty incredible loli and shota stuff. Very distinctive art style too. Be very wary of the tags though, he does include mind break and rape. http://exhentai.org/g/440320/7d19989972/ http://exhentai.org/g/422603/a878e597d8/ http://exhentai.org/g/684236/2a17eca8aa/ http://exhentai.org/g/707135/715ffdd889/

Finished Baccano. There were some times where I lost interest in the story, but it managed to pick up towards the end. I was expecting it to be like Durarara where only the first half would be interesting, but I was pleasantly surprised that it managed to deliver a really good ending. I also think the characters in Baccano are more interesting; not only with individual characters, but overall cast. This is a seriously cool and exciting anime. Once I finish the specials for Baccano, I think I'll get into School Rumble. I could use a little more rom-com right about now. ^^

Idk, I always thought the parody sounded better, but I never really liked the original. -

Hey, guys. I actually never got around to reading most of this thread, but I thought I'd throw in a few things since I just started studying recently. Huge wall of text. I know I'm a little late here, but do you still need any clarification on how the process works in Memrise? Introduction to Japanese works just fine for me, and I don't think it'd be pointless to take their world heritage course. I'm not sure if you have to finish the basic course before moving on to the more advanced ones though, but if that's the case, just run through the basic course (it could help with reinforcement). It probably doesn't provide the most ideal way to learn the language unless you upgrade to premium, but I've still found it efficient to learn for free. I think it works because it has you memorize words at various angles (converting English words to kana and vice-versa) and also requires you to type some of your answers out. I think it's useful to alternate between learning new words and reviewing what you've learned. The more you drill something into your head, the more it'll stick with you in the long run. It's true that just learning things as they're presented in choices won't help you attain mastery, but it'll at least allow the words to start sinking in so that you can practice them in some other way. I don't think it's a good idea to rely solely on Memrise if you want to attain better mastery of Japanese, but it should work fine as an introductory tool. Like for someone starting out, I think it'd be better to use Memrise for learning hiragana and then switch to Realkana to improve your mastery over it. One thing I do know is that I have a much easier time familiarizing myself with new hiragana from Memrise than I do from RK.
