To be honest, you've played most of the best english VNs that closely match your criteria. For other ones that meet your criteria, there's the Da Capo series. Second one is better than the first, so don't write it off if you don't initially enjoy DC1. They're both pretty heavy into the whole slice of life thing where you follow the protagonist around pretty much every single day from sunrise to sunset. I was almost going to recommend ef but it's pretty heavy on the drama. There's a decent amount of slice of life style storytelling in there, though, so if you want to try something like this out with more melodrama, give it a shot. And while it's not out yet, Noble Works' english patch is coming out in a month or two and that may be right up your alley, it's pretty good.

There may be an enforced play order in Cartagra that limits your good ending choices a little at first. I recall it being a bit confusing.

Yo, don't embed NSFW images even in spoiler tags. Your browser still downloads that image to your cache. Which means if you're on a monitored workstation, you can still get in trouble. Always link NSFW images.

It was a joke. The poster who didn't know Japanese said they'd find a way to translate it into english on their own. So I told them to learn Japanese as step one in a rather flippant manner. I also wasn't trying to discourage anyone if that's what they really want to do, though. I was just explaining my own reasoning. This turned into a way bigger thing than I wanted it to, lol. It's true I do get a little annoyed at the attitude some people have about how you supposedly must learn Japanese if you're a VN fan and if you don't you're some kind of lazy asshole.

In Windows 10, go to Settings > System > Apps & Features > Manage optional features. From there, click Add a Feature and install the Japanese Supplemental Fonts. Fresh Windows 10 installs need to do this for many Japanese games to work properly. Also, it seems like you may be using the fan translated version. I would suggest installing the JAST version, this probably wouldn't be an issue with that. Also, because 1) You should support official localizations of good games like Saya no Uta, and 2) The translation has been refined and improved by a noticeable degree.

Two people have gotten the $1800 tier in the last couple days so it's going pretty well, it seems like it's definitely going to make it now. It would be amazing if they somehow failed to find $14,000 in the last week.

Most eroge do actually have something underneath the mosaics. You have to have something there because a barebones level of detail is required even if there are mosaics. AFAIK, MangaGamer doesn't do redraws, I've never seen anyone from MG talk about that. I believe some people misunderstood a tweet from Doddler where he mentioned touching up a HCG from ImoPara in photoshop but that is the extent of it. He is certainly no artist. The reason why their CGs look so shitty is because that's the basic level of detail the original artists went with in their pre-mosaiced CGs, and that's all MG has to work with. If they were to redraw them, they'd probably look better. This is why there's such a strong inconsistency between companies. Softhouse Seal's genitals look like shit while Clock Up's look alright. Even Minori, who refused to release uncensored games in the west, had uncensored originals. You could tell there's more detail there than you'd think when you compared the original mosaiced CGs to the "reduced" mosaics in the western releases.

Is it a good idea to set aside a set amount of time per day for reading VNs? That's all up to you. Ultimately, this silly hobby of ours should be one of the least important things in our lives. If you can't find the time to read VNs, then that's okay. That doesn't usually last forever, you'll get that time eventually and these VNs will still be here waiting for you. Just make sure you don't stress yourself out, find some time to unwind every now and again, whether that's with VNs or with anything else. How often and for how long you do this is up to you, you have to find that balance yourself.

Reno Jackson has the potential to be a hugely meta-warping card. He's being experimented with pretty heavily right now, and the results are pretty good. And he's only going to get better as more expansions are released and there are more viable alternate cards to ease the pain of running nothing but one-ofs. And many decks can afford to run Reno and a handful of two-ofs if they're good at stalling, like Freeze Mage. I mean, think about it, if you can mitigate its downside, a 6 mana 4/6 that fully heals your hero is pretty much the most insane thing ever. I'm not saying every deck will run Reno, but if enough Reno decks stick on the ladder, it will pretty much completely kill any face-rush aggro decks. There are a lot of other pretty neat looking cards, in my opinion. Discover is turning out to be a bit better than people expected because there's actually a 4x bonus for class cards to be an option, something Blizzard didn't previously disclose. I think slower control or midrange rogues could finally become a thing. Maybe Shaman Murloc decks can be viable with their new, possibly more consistent finisher? Brann Bronzebeard looks like a fun card that could be really powerful. So far, the expansion seems pretty alright to me.

Are the voices that good? That's getting me excited to re-read it again. But it will have to wait until after all these new and upcoming releases are out.

One of the things about VNDB is that the rating you sort by is a bayesian average used to attempt to smooth out statistical anomalies. What this means is that when there are only few votes for a game, highly rated games will have their listed rating lowered, and lowly rated games will have it raised. The more votes there are, the less this happens. Since not many people vote on Japanese-only games, it's extremely hard for them to break into the top 100. So to use one example, Natsukumo Yururu is ranked #153 currently, but if you were to rank it only by its unadjusted average rating, it would actually be around #37. Of course, if you did that for all VNs, it would probably be much lower, but then a ton of other JP-only games would flood the top 100.

There's been some first-time failures in VNs before. I can't recall of any off the top of my head that caused the h-scene to end prematurely, but I do remember quite a few slip-ups in Edelweiss, for one example. It was the funniest and best part of that mediocre VN. Let's just say that the virgin version of the protagonist has a hair trigger, which I suppose goes well with his over-eager personality.
