  1. If the fan base is terrible for wanting h-scenes in VNs but most of the fuwanovel user base also wants h-scenes in their VNs, I guess that makes the fuwanovel community terrible as well? I'm starting to wonder why you bothered to come back to a community you have such an obviously strong distaste for.
  2. edit: You know what, nope, nevermind. Not doing this, not with Okami.
  3. This is why you all should be following our VNTS updates, we had this posted weeks ago!
  4. There's quite a few issues with them. They gave their routes a QC check in Majikoi S as well. Besides, it's good to make the routes' translations consistent with each other in the process.
  5. If you notice, a lot of their VNs on Steam are now listed as being published by themselves instead of Sekai Project. This happened two or three weeks ago, IIRC. A day or two ago they posted a message on their patreon saying that they've repaired relations with SP but I don't know what that ultimately means.
  6. I'm listening to Grimes' new album right now. Holy crap it's good. Grimes has certainly gotten more mainstream over the years, and I know some people who don't like this trend who were disappointed by this album but I also know a lot who love it like I do. Unfortunately none of the songs I'd want to link are on youtube so instead I'll just link the spotify playlist. Listen to this shit, it's good: https://play.spotify.com/album/5hB4jVN4ZHpubyiMmW81K1

    Overwatch?

Really? This is what sells the system to you? Not the FF 7 remake? No Mans Sky? Bloodborne? FF XV? Well, this game will probably be better than any of those excepting Bloodborne so I'd be with him if I didn't have a good PC already. Anyways, this game looks real fun. Yeah, a lot of resemblances to TF2, who cares? It looks really polished (the first person animations are incredible) and it reminds me of TF2 before it became a bloated mess. I dunno if I'll buy it on launch but I really want to get into the beta and give it a shot. I'll need to buy a new keyboard first though since mine is so busted.

  9. Avoid what? I posted no spoilers...
  10. I AM playing it. I'll c/p my thoughts I posted to the VNTS commentary section: I'm at January 3rd now. Honestly I think it's way better than the first game so far.
  11. I often have difficulty finding the games you mention here on vndb, xreaper... What's that game's untranslated title?

    Hearthstone

The next expansion was announced yesterday. It's an exploration-themed adventure set, and it's already coming out next week. All of the cards were revealed already: http://www.hearthpwn.com/news/1082-every-card-from-the-league-of-explorers-adventure Many of the cards are kind of underwhelming, but this is how it usually goes. I think they'll be several playable additions, and I think it might be good for arena which is what I mainly play anyways. Overall though, it actually feels like a goofy funtimes expansion, and many of the cards aren't actually meant to be taken seriously. They're releasing this on an accelerated schedule and there's a lot of really weird cards in here. I expect some awfully strange decks to be built with them. Also 45 cards in 4 wings, so the value proposition is much higher than before. Probably specifically because they realize that some of these are joke cards. I happen to have enough gold saved to buy the whole thing as it comes out, so that's nice. A lot of people wait until an announcement to save gold though, sucks for them since they'll have no time to do so.
  13. Keep in mind that this is after they shaved like $60k off the goal. According to what the project manager said on reddit, they shifted some money around from some currently unannounced future projects in order to lower Narcissu's goal and if they only barely reach the goal then those other projects might be stretched a little thin (but he said that Narcissu itself is perfectly safe, that funding is set in stone). I think they'll probably reach the goal, but they probably aren't getting the level of overfunding they hoped they would get. I'm guessing they'll probably get to about $55,000 with 5 days to go and at that point, projects almost never fail at that level of funding. There's a certain threshold where backer psychology changes and they feel obligated to try to push an almost-funded project past the finish line before it's too late. I think they can get that last $20,000 in the last few days. But pretty much nothing beyond that.
  14. Yeah, to be honest I stalled for months after half an hour to an hour of reading and then went through the rest of it really quickly after I gave it a second shot. It does get better.
  15. The backer tiers have some really underwhelming rewards. Take the $280 tier for instance: The $180 tier rewards, plus a Narcissu T-shirt. Wow, amazing. Literally a $100 t-shirt. That better be a really fucking good t-shirt. I mean, yeah, many people view Kickstarter as a donation platform, but many more people won't give much more money than they think the rewards are worth. Other SP projects seemed to understand this, but it looks like Stage-nana was afraid of offering too much and having to spend too much on reward fulfillment. But by being so miserly with the rewards they're going to end up with no or very little money at all. I mentioned this on reddit a day or two after the campaign launched and the project manager responded saying that they were looking into offering some more stuff but then nothing happened? This campaign seems really poorly thought out.
  16. If this is from Sekai project - you praise them, how awesome are full big detailed backgrounds with whole set of details. If this is fan and free - you see this as downgrade. Just great. ??? You don't get the full backgrounds in the official release, either. They targeted a specific level of detail and went with that level on both versions of the game. Downscaling the image will probably just make it look worse, imo.
  17. Regarding doing a patch for g-senjou no maou's original versions showing the whole backgrounds, I'll consider that a downgrade, to be honest. A lot of detail will be lost in the environments when downscaled and some parts might not be meant to be shown. There's a reason why they did the original version of the game the way they did, I'll trust the developers on this one.
  18. Light is one of those companies that you can bet everyone attempted to court, but they don't seem to have any interest at all in the western market.
  19. Phoenix Wright was my first taste of something similar to visual novels. At the time it was just another adventure game. Well, to this day not many consider it an actual VN. My first true VN probably was Fate/Stay Night, and a year or so later DanganRonpa, I enjoyed both. I had previously watched the Steins;Gate anime and entertained the possibility of playing the fan patch but decided not to because I didn't yet feel like retreading that story. But wait, there's more! I still had the notion that bishoujo VNs were all just boring dating sims. I also kind of looked down on romance as a genre in general. After watching some random romance anime I didn't hate, I was recommended the Clannad anime, and kind of became hooked. I thought I would hate it and ended up enjoying it far more than I ever expected. Realizing it was an adaptation of a VN, I decided to actually give bishoujo romance VNs a shot. I started with titles like Da Capo, Grisaia, and Deardrops, and the rest is history. It's actually kind of insane how many titles I read in my first three months after that, I was became an actual shut-in reading VNs for an embarrassing amount of time each day. I think I finished Grisaia in 5 days. I've calmed down a considerable amount since then, it would take me at least two weeks these days, lol. edit: Did some rough calculations based on my VNDB votes, I must have played about 450 - 500 hours of VNs in my first two months. lol, what? IIRC, I would go to VNDB and sort the VNs by popularity and rating and just get everything on the top of the list. I also remember that I lost a bit of weight in that time period...
  20. https://vndb.org/v15 https://vndb.org/v51 Two VNs by Maeda and Hinoue before they founded Key. Technically, I think MangaGamer might have access to those games but they've shown zero interest in them. At least, they used to be associated with Nexton, who invested in MG during its founding, dunno if they still are. MG in general does not like to pick up titles that had previously released fan translations because they feel like they can't get enough sales on them (they blame ef's initial failure on that).
  21. It also sends a notification whenever someone follows you. So you all can feel free to completely flood Tay's notification box with follows.
  22. Unfortunately that's just the way the internet is these days. It's the trend to act as offended as humanly possible at the smallest slight, and whenever something happens that people don't like, no matter how insignificant it may be, they yell and scream until someone addresses the issue. Or doesn't and then they forget a week later. edit: See above. lmao.
  23. This was already discussed in another thread: http://forums.fuwanovel.net/topic/12091-little-busters-coming-to-steam/ Key is also simultaneously releasing their next Kinetic Novel in Japan and the US (US first according to them but I doubt much time will pass between the releases). The writing has kind of been on the wall ever since the Harmonia announcement, Key is doubling down on their western localization plans. Definitely expect Rewrite to be next and Angel Beats to follow not long after. The art in Kanon and Air might be too crude for official release, though, so maybe they'll skip those.
  24. Ahh, some good old fashioned right-wing propaganda shoved ham-fistedly into a science fiction story. Gotta love it. Dole is used somewhat commonly in America.
