  1. The answer to that question with Karen doesn't seem to matter.

Wow, this week's tavern brawl is really cool. It's basically a deck building game not entirely dissimilar to something like Dominions. Basically, at the start of each turn you discover a random card. Every time you play a card or end a turn with cards in your hand, copies of those cards are placed into your deck and you draw a new hand of four cards each turn. This creates some really interesting dynamics and strategies. It's sort of like arena but you build your deck over time in each game, and can see what your opponent plays and can choose counters to those cards in case they draw them again. There's also some weird stuff like bounce-backs adding duplicates to your deck or discards removing cards from your deck entirely, if you want to manipulate the value of your deck. It's also slow. And most of the players are too dumb to understand what's going on, but if you get a good opponent it's super fun.
  3. I want someone who's not me to do an analysis comparing the number of articles about sexism in DoAX3 before and after GG blew up over it. This is hilarious.
  4. Lol yeah.. that scene was priceless huh Hidden Content ~~~ Making steady progress in KnS2. I'm on Fifth Terrace, date 1/3, not much to say except that I'm really enjoying the story & characters so far. As much as I dreaded that 5 hour prologue, it did ultimately serve its purpose of setting up these characters quite nicely and it was fun to be able to recognize who was who and see how they've changed. The mystery is also much more mysterious this time around, and I appreciate the connection(?)s to the prior events of Cartagra involving the Senri and the Shigusa name. Detective sessions up to this point however, have been lacking; most of the information was handed to you by the narrative and the third person storytelling, but I'm sure when the moment of truth comes I'll be scratching my head like a dumby-dumb 'cuz right now I simply have no idea who the perp(s) is/are. Speaking of third person narrative, at first I didn't like it because I felt a bit more detached from the story (especially in the beginning) since I wasn't looking through the eyes of Reiji 90% of the time anymore like I was in KnS, but it really opened up the story to be more dynamic. You get to see much more in-depth of what other characters are up to and their feelings (I particularly enjoyed getting to see Yukari x Kohane x Yukiko develop their friendship) now rather than being limited to one person's viewpoint and the sporadic 3rd person glimpses you got in the first game. Though, next time for KnS3, pls allow me to still look up the Notebook even when Reiji's not in control :3 Character banter has improved dramatically. Maybe I'm just super bias by now, but I frequently had a huge ass grin on my face towards things like Reiji getting creeped out by the creepy-crawly noises in Yukari's closet, Sato's gift of choice for Reiji towards Kyoko being the heart handkerchief, the return of the takoyaki man, Shugo's over-the-top enthusiasm for his new daughter, Toji's staying true to her badassery and keeping Reiji in check upon revealing Shin's new novel to him only to seconds later ask if he brought back some Echizen miso from his trip, hell even Masaki ending up sleeping on Michiru's shoulder because he didn't want to move and wake her up >.> ...Ah, so the person on the cover art of KnS2 is Hidden Content KnS2 is far less interactive than KnS1. There are barely any deduction moments at all. It's a little disappointing, but it seems that IG just mainly wanted to focus on telling a good mystery story instead of making a half-assed mystery adventure game. That's also why the map selection choices don't really matter. And I don't think the game allows you to leave investigation screens without important pieces of evidence. Still, as you said, I believe it to be a far better mystery story than the first KnS game. KnS1 felt more like a thriller where you were desperately chasing down a murderer, playing a game of cat and mouse. KnS2 is a genuine mystery.
  5. From what I heard, the other routes can be kind of frustrating if you don't understand the motivations behind Chisato's actions in them, so it's recommended that you start with her route. But I suppose there are people out there who will always do their own thing so whatever, this is still a useful upload for those who just really don't want to bother with that route. Thanks.
  6. Rin is too independent for the majority of otakudom to handle. They hate independent women.
  7. That opening scene with the class rep is probably the most extreme scene in the entire VN, actually. Purely because of the narration. They go all out trying to psyche out the players right at the start.
  8. I've heard a lot of bad things about that one, apparently there's not much substance beyond the h-scenes.
  9. Please for the love of god start using spoiler tags, people. That's how that route ends, there's no better ending for it. After you do that, Kanae's route opens up, which is the true end. I suggest doing the other routes first.
  10. That is a supremely spoilery way to word a walkthrough. Anyways, you should at least tag that.
  11. The backgrounds are nice but maybe you're going a little overboard, lol.
  12. I know who you're going to end up with. Because the game doesn't give you any choice on the matter for your first playthrough.
  13. keep you waiting, huh? You actually did it. The quality drop doesn't seem noticeable when scaled down. Thanks!
  14. Do mine, make it fit within the filesize limit, and make sure there's no quality lost. tia (don't actually do this)
  15. My impression from glancing at the CGs is that this game is pretty much a guro-fest. Some people on VNDB who have played it pretty much confirm this. This is one of the most hardcore guro-filled games ever released by a major studio. So if guro is your thing, this VN is probably for you.
  16. g-senjou no maou has a CG from near the end of the game that is a blatant spoiler. Also all of the Steins;Gate shots are of the anime and not the VN. You should probably change your method of googling for the shots to something else if you can't even guarantee you'll get shots of the VN.
  17. Random Subahibi tidbit: It seems like Deoto is going to be giving it a pass this week. I don't know if he's doing a full edit pass or is just QCing it but he has tweeted that he'll be playing it this week, so there's at least some movement on that project. Deoto is an editor who has worked with herkz before and also works for MangaGamer.
  18. This is ostensibly what Fuwanovel's upcoming front page redesign is meant to be like. I wonder how that's coming along...
  19. You didn't need to actually watch the video to know what it was going to be like, you know I lasted 45 very agonizing seconds before I had to close it. I wanted to see if it was parody or not. I mean the stereotypes were too perfect for it to not be a parody. It wasn't a parody, this person is real. That's rather incredible in a way.
  20. Yeah, that's a pretty abominable video.
  21. Technically it's not cheating if they didn't decide to start going out yet.
  22. Well, if he was willing to overlook a few characters and pretend it's hair dye, he wouldn't have posted this thread in the first place. In Clannad's case, Kyou, Ryou, Kotomi, Tomoyo, Akio, Tomoya, Kappei (blond, but he's supposed to be Japanese), Yuusuke, and Misae are all characters with unrealistic hair color. Nagisa is borderline for a Japanese person. Sunohara's hair is blond but described as bleached in-game. If blond is allowable, then play euphoria. Also if you haven't played Kira Kira, there's that. One of the character dyes their hair pink halfway through the common route, though. edit: Also, Swan Song. The only blond character may have bleached their hair, I don't remember.
