  1. It makes me envious too xD. I find when I watch anime, I usually only pick up on words I've already seen/read and it just helps me remember better. For learning new vocabulary, it doesn't really help me unless it's a character phrase/quirk they use often. ex: Mirai from Kyoukai no Kanata often says, "Fuyukai desu!" xD I've watched anime like One Piece... and I definitely cannot forget the vocabulary for "Gomu" I recently finished Trinity Seven, and because the main character was such a pervert I picked up on "momu" and probably won't ever forget that either since they were funny scenes. So anime for me is more like review most of the time for words I already read/learned before. I think I'd be too frustrated to watch without subtitles, since I want to know every detail that's going on and not just the gist.. so too lazy to do that. xD
  2. Here's a picture of me~
  3. Bday selfie Hey, nice pic^^! Now I know what you look like, yaaaaay~ hope you had a great B-day.
  4. I've had the 'reverse-hype' many times before, but probably less now since I've hunted all the ones I've been interested in already. Mostly older Rpg games. When I ran out of things to play, I looked into older games I might have missed out on with good reviews. I still replay some old ones sometimes even now. One time, I looked through every possible RPG PS1 game and tried all the ones that seemed interesting to me. I played Suikoden 3 first, loved it.. and looked for the older games Suikoden 1&2, and side stories of Suikoden Gaiden, etc. I get excited when I play a recent game, search about it and find older games related to it. That's also what happened when I played Fire Emblem 4. I looked for older related releases to see if any of them were playable in english. I usually do that for every game I really enjoyed. I get hyped when I find an old game I hadn't played yet, but looks extremely good.. I look for it everywhere and try to get my hands on it if possible. I think I'm more into 'reverse-hype' for console gaming. I'm probably more automatically 'reverse-hype' for Pc VNs xD since I don't really pay attention to latest releases/news about them.. I just look through what seems interesting to read in the older/present ones.
  5. http://www.siliconera.com/2015/01/01/xseed-also-registered-domains-corpse-party-blood-drive-trails-cold-steel/ Yaay, it seems Xseed may be planning to release these 3 games. I'd definitely play Corpse Party and Trails if they did. Corpse Party: Blood Drive Trails of Cold Steel Xanadu Next
  6. I finished it a few days ago.. and I'll do the review based on what I remember, though perhaps some details/support I use may be wrong.. but at this point I don't really care, lol. Here are my personal thoughts on it. Warning: Kind of long and possibly crazy. Story 8/10 Characters 7/10 Soundtrack 10/10 Art Style 7/10 Enjoyment/Overall 7.5/10 Thanks NB for picking this anime. I enjoyed it overall.
  7. Soo, I ended up watching True Tears (I'm on episode 9, and will probably finish it tonight). Mostly because @Stray Cat hated it so much, I thought there'd be a good chance I'd enjoy it since he and I have such different tastes, lol. Seems I was right ;p 'cause I like it so far and want to find out how things will turn out in the end. So far.. I think Aiko is actually the worst girl. I don't think Hiromi is as bad as everyone seems to make her out to be, so I do like her. No comment on Noe really. She's okay but strange. When I finish it, I might share my thoughts on each girl in more detail.. and what I think about the conclusion.
  8. I just finished it all too, and thinking of continuing it in the manga if there's more. I enjoyed the anime^^ Yeah, Arata is probably my favorite harem male character I've encountered. It's refreshing that he says what he thinks and what he wants, instead of the typical clueless harem males. I busted out laughing so hard, when he opened the door and screamed, "Go pee!" Arata saves the day.
  9. Is anyone else watching Trinity Seven anime? I really am enjoying it so far^^ and was wondering about others thoughts on it and favorite characters. Who is your favorite heroine, and why? (don't forget to vote!) I'm on episode 9 right now, but my favorite character so far is Akio. She seems like a very strong, loyal, and level-headed character. My 2nd favorite is Levi, 'cause she has a cool attitude and ninja skills! I also think the main character Arata is entertaining xD.. he's a pervert, but at least he proudly admits it, lol.. so there are some funny scenes with the girls. Oh, here's the Trinity Seven characters related to the seven sins.
  10. LOL... loved it. That was great.
  11. Haha @KosakiFag, nice long hair. You look cute!~ ;p
  12. When I said 'everywhere~' I meant more, I think I've encountered the "wait, stop, no." kind of H-talk in almost all the ones I've played so far that had hentai. I didn't really mean it's everywhere, specifically in yuri. But thanks for explaining an interesting read. Now, I'm wondering if BL is similar xD.. since it's both male characters, does one take on the more passive role and speak like how a heroine typically would, or are they both aggressive. (I've never played any BL before).
  13. I even see it in Yuri VNs I've read.. the consensual (rape-ish H-scenes) xD. They're everywhere~ It's annoying because.. I guess, it almost feels like the female characters are not allowed to admit they enjoy the act and they become passive instead. or maybe it's a Japanese thing like @Palas said.. I dunno.
  14. That's the coolest figure collection case display so far... oooooooooo wish I could do something like that.... but seems too expensive, and would have no space to put it anyways. boo
  15. I haven't played many Otome games... but I do see it in some that I've played. It can get really annoying. My biggest pet peeve.. I think I see it in all visual novels (that have hentai).. During hentai scenes, I wonder if I'm the only one that feels that way about hentai scenes... and I almost wonder if it's written that way because it's the guys that enjoy that kind of dialogue. Oh, and speaking of Otome games.. The reason I don't really play them as much because with Too many male chars there can be too much macho energy going on, and tend to be about the guy protecting the girl etc. like she can't take care of herself kind of stuff. Which was why.. I got bored of Hakouki.
  16. I actually learned Kanji individually first.. before tackling any real reading (not inside grammar books). Like I went through ~1800 but then I stopped since I didn't really feel like I needed to go any further and it wasn't really helping learning Kanji I hardly ever encountered. Some good things I got out from that.. I guess I noticed patterns, and I probably still have faint memories of what I learned stored in my brain somewhere. When I encounter it again, it's easier to remember or re-learn since I've already seen it before.. and the ones I still recognize just reinforces better. I'm currently trying a different approach. Instead of learning the Kanji individually now, I'm learning kanji vocabulary readings and as I read them.. that way, I learn them in context which could help me remember better since I'm actually Using them. I do think this is helping, and I'm also building more vocabulary at the same time. If you want to actually read.. it's probably better to learn Kanji in reading instead of individually. But learning the Kanji individually doesn't hurt either I think.. it can help you remember the vocabulary better and even predict vocabulary reading/meaning you haven't encountered before (but not always). I think eventually, you'd have to learn both somewhere down the line... I guess just learn it the way you're most comfortable with, and what works best for you.
  17. I'm not creative at all, so I got the name from a video game Shining Force EXA. It was the first time I saw the name Cyrille being used so I thought it sounded cool. The character was also a Mage, and I really like mages in video games. The j1 was just to add uniqueness to it so I could use it anywhere.
  18. What's your personal Theme Song? It can be from anything. Which song would introduce you as a character in an anime/video game? Post one song that you personally think represents you best. You can explain why you think it does if you want to. Here's mine FFXI - Sanctuary of Zi'Tah It's very relaxing, calm and peaceful melody.. but there's also a sense of solitude from it. I guess it fits how I feel often.
  19. I like your long/wavy hair Zalor^^ looks nice.
  20. gosh, you've already passed me... I've stalled on the game too long xD.. need to finish it! I'm still on Story4 part.
  21. I very much love FF9 - The Place I'll Return to Someday My favorite song from my #1 game Xenogears - Bonds of Sea and Fire My favorite field song when I played back then FFXI - The Sanctuary of Zi'Tah (I played as whm & brd ^^) Another one I like Star Ocean - Theme of Rena
  22. I actually don't know who this is... but it sounded so beautiful that I wanted to share it. Ahh, I love it. http://youtu.be/tcEwkJe_GC0
  23. I just plainly thought Makoto was a selfish jerk. Well, actually I was more annoyed that the heroine Kotonoha wasn't strong enough to be comfortable with herself and not give into him until she was completely ready on her own terms. It just felt all forced and I guess didn't fit into the ideal kind of love I personally thought of. I'm not sure if I just landed on a bad route, but I tried in every way to get Kotonoha a good ending, but she still gave into him and all the drama... maybe because I'm a girl, so it irritated me more on how she ended up with him.
  24. And there's the second half!
  25. oh..my..gosshhhh, yesss! I want! Yay, new Fire Emblem!!! It looks cool, can't wait! I wonder if it'll be similar to Awakening with the coupling-kids.
