  1. I didn't read others posts, but here are my quick thoughts A VN doesn't necessarily have to have Japanese art or culture.. it's more like a medium to me. A game that has story and characters told in a story text-based format almost like a storybook. Because of this, it tends to be focused more on story-telling and character development more.. and then there are other options like "choices" or other game mechanics sometimes included. So yeah.. pretty much what it's called, a Visual Novel. Trying to make Visual Novels popular in the west... to me just means, to help make that game style, those types of games more popular and accepted in mainstream. So we can get more games like 999, Danganronpa, etc. I do think of "Japanese" Visual Novels more though, because I play more of those kinds and enjoy them and tend to like the anime-art style. I Almost even consider The Walking Dead, Beyond Two Souls, etc. as VNs for some similarity.. just because they are story-driven and have interactive choice-making... but they probably don't fit with what most people consider to be VN. There are some games that have VN gameplay elements in it, but aren't exactly considered VN either... so it's a bit hard to say exactly. I do enjoy VNs though, either just parts of it or the whole thing in a game. lol... no. Maybe when I was 10, but now that I'm older I'd like to read something more serious or complicated. Not saying Disney isn't good, but their stories tend to be childish and predictable, for me at least. I'd watch it, but I'd rather Read something else.
  2. How are you liking the game so far?
  3. I've already put so many hours into the game.. so I been slowly playing it since it's so long. Mostly, I think because I spend a lot of time trying to be perfect in the battles (For more than half the game, I fought every battle with no casualties and always did the Bonuses... so the battles would drag on). Now that I'm focusing on just finishing it, battles are somewhat faster since I go straight for the boss, even if I have to sacrifice some units. I'm on chapter12 now, which seems close to the end. Spoilers ahead! 1) I like the depth of the characters and story. It's told well enough, it made me cry couple times because I cared for the characters and the scenes were touching. It's also cool since it's a story about gods/humans living together and such so it's interesting. Also war, political turmoil things going on so I like those types of stories. I do feel there's a lot of emotion especially on the voicing, so they did a good job on that. 2) The battles can be very long.. even when I want to finish it quickly, it still takes time. I mean that can be a good or bad thing.. but sometimes it can be tiring and I'd have to take breaks from the game. Although I like the story, I think some parts seem bit unrealistic like having only couple characters taking over an enemy stronghold, etc.. but it's because you only control the few characters you have. I think I like Fire Emblem more though in its grand scale battles, where it feels like there's an actual war going on since you use many characters at once so it feels like a huge army force. In TtT2, you're forced to use a giant elephant in every single battle that's a bit restrictive (and takes time to switch units out). Even though I like the story and character development.. I noticed the quality seems to be dropping a bit in their conversations as the game got further. Like, as the group got bigger every single character would just say one line (as if to just get everyone's dialogue in so they aren't forgotten). And it's the usual, expected lines you'd hear from them, like there isn't much change in the characters personalities. I like to see growth in the characters.. but I don't think there's really any significant change in anyone (except Hamil and Tarte maybe). 3) My favorite character is Tarte (Astarte). Because she's a kind goddess, and really sweet with Hamil. She's not just the usual heroine support character but is actually quite strong herself and fights in the front lines with her freaking giant sword! (Her attack stats are normally higher than even Hamil's) Despite being a goddess, she acts shy around Hamil when it gets lovey-dovey.. I wish she'd just outright say what she really thinks/feels more, but it's still cute. 4) I never played Tears to Tiara 1, so can't comment on that. Just wanted to share some of my thoughts on it ^^ thanks for asking.
  4. Yeah, a lot of people seem to like him.. but I don't really see why. I mean I get it, but I don't really like those kinds of people even in real life, let alone in an anime xD.
  5. Here's mine^^ I love green... she looks so cute~!! -resists urge to hug- gave her bandages, cause her clumsiness seems to make her appear more endearing somehow. Thanks for the app NB, it was fun to make.
  6. Yessss, Naoto is winning!! Lol, I love those skits... now I wonder what Rise saw xD
  7. Up to Episode 16
  8. Yeahh. I went to see with a friend, and he was like 'wtf, there's nothing holding it up' xD (the fallen over tower, he and the orc were fighting on). It was like just floating in midair haha. But it's okay, cause Legolas is cool ;p he can do anything~ I gotta say... I was captivated by the Elf King the whole time. I loved the majestic and elegant way he looked... would so want a poster of him. He'd be the only male character allowed on my wall, haha.. along with Legolas. Overall.. I enjoyed the movie even if it seemed bit unbelievable. I didn't read the book though? (Unless reading The Hobbit counts.. but that was so long ago, I remember it just being about Smog).
  9. I feel similar about the isolation thing except with a few members I do use chat program with. I know some people probably feel overlooked or that their posts don't matter... but personally, if I liked a lot of a user's posts, it usually means I recognize them and appreciate their thoughts and such although I may never message or post replies to them. There are people on the forums I do recognize, just never talk with. So I'm sure, people know who you are ;p... I've seen you around before, and notice your posts/avatar/name too. (I also love Fire Emblem btw) 1) I've had this similar talk with another member before xD.. kinda interesting since we had different reasons. But when I choose an Avatar, I do think it represents a part of my personality somehow or how I'd like others to perceive me. Like.. I recently changed mine to Mikasa (Attack on Titans), mostly because.. her appearance resembles how I look somewhat, plus she also kind of has a loner personality. Still, the pic itself shows a more gentler side to her. So I chose this pic of her to represent me since it fits well I think. But she's also my favorite character, and just cool too^^ ..for me, there's some thought into picking an avatar, but it's not always for the same reasons depending. This time I wanted an avatar I felt similar to, but other times I've chosen one just to advertise a new game of my fave character. Buuut I guess they've all been females at least. 2) I've never really been good at being involved with forums.. always just lurked. Fuwa is actually the first one I've been really active in, it even surprises me sometimes that I haven't disappeared yet. And I'm not talking about active as in just posting things.. but actually getting to know the community. I think I'm known by a few members I've gotten to know, but other than that, probably not much or at all.. lol. 3) umm, honestly, huh. Well, there are few I'm on friendly terms with so it's like any normal acquaintance in real life probably. Maybe one person I've gotten to know really well, and might be the reason why I'm still more involved than I would be if I hadn't befriended on here. That means, I've gotten to know them well enough, I wouldn't feel uncomfortable trying to meet in real life kind of thing.
