Majikoi S Translation Project Discussion
Suzu Fanatic replied to Ouraibaa Hjyuraa's topic in Fan Translation Discussion
Good choice <3 Wanko. "Sometimes nailing the execution is more important than being original." -Ixrec- So you could always argue your the name is purely functional :3 -

Been thinking of dropping some cash for this one, but I've already been burnt with almost every other indie VN to come out so far. I find most are way too short, or just written badly. I hate to namedrop it, but Katawa Shoujo really is the only =indie= VN out there to succeed so far imo. Anyway - setting aside my feelings, has anyone played this one yet? what do you like about it, and what do you dislike about it? I can't trust Steam reviews because well...have you seen how absurd some reviews are?

It's a fairly smooth transition from Takajuns writing to yours, nicely done so far! -
MangaGamer's Message to Fan-translators
Suzu Fanatic replied to solidbatman's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Of course it also has "nothing" to do with the fact MG would never touch titles like those~ (afterall, they have previously commented that they would stay away from anything Fan Tld, due to having to "compete" with the TL'd version (think Decay brought up that point in another thread). Aslo, they would have considered them too high risk - or plain and simple they just couldn't afford them. If you ask me, they are using Fan TLs like a scapegoat for their own shortcomings. EDIT: and do you really think including the last two untranslated visual novels was what made it successful? if people really wanted to, they could have just waited for the eventual release and pirated it. If you offer something people want, most will be willing to pay. There of course will always be those that cannot/will not pay, and seek other means - but for myself at least - I will pay for any title localized, even if I already read it. -

My question to MG: "Regarding the former question, and the perceived negative role fan translations play: Grisaia and Clannad was TL'd and available for years, yet the KSs were a huge success - most bkrs had probably already read both. Do you dsagree with this idea that many will pay if something is picked up for TL?" will be interesting to see if they respond. -

Well, if you are looking at "pure" VNs (that have little to no gameplay, other than choices). my personal TOP reccomendation would be Fate/Stay Night. Has battles, powers, romance, comedy, tragedy - a good mix. https://vndb.org/v11

It most likely has lol - but as long as it's not something that has been answered on the front page of the project, go ahead and ask - life is about asking questions, if you don't ask, you don't learn! -

lol agreed, that was pretty good man. -
Hehe yeah, not so sure about Schools Days as a reccomendation to someone claimnig to be new to the genre...something like that would scar them for life. Eien no Aselia..ehhh... I liked it. The first 3 times. (not being able to skip old battles after the second or third playthrough was just obnoxious though, considering how many character routes there were.) >_<

EDIT: Think it's just for the U.s. tbh. Which is a shame becuase that would make life a ton easier for people. But at the same time, it is a good age-gate for businesses, to cover their asses from accidently sellnig to minors etc.

"No pressure." (continues to stand there, watching you work.) "how about now?" "...now?" ?...mmmm now?" I kid, people are just excited, but don't let it stress you out. I mean, there are some projects that are waaaay behind you guys, despite being at "100%" for months/years. Just see it through to the end, that's all I can ask for. -
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic

Nah, I so far have avoided the MLP hype, other than providing the odd curious glance. -
Tears to Tiara, and Utawarerumono (the better of the two, imo). These are both older titles, and aren't known for playing nice with newer OS's, but they are both memorable titles for me, as translated VNs were more of a rarity back then.

Call me crazy, but I actually don't mind that one. For example, in Mass Effect - femshep is a million times better actor then manshep. So I've been interested in female protags ever since. it can be relevent - if there is an actual story anyway - if not, then yeah it is kinda pointless. (though I admit I'm the sort to create a cute female character in all my games - hey it's not representing ME, it's a character in a story. ) heh, I seemed to have derailed the thread abit - sorry about that. It hurts my Vn fanboy pride to see such titles listed as "top 10 Visual Novels". sigh... oh well, good stuff is on the horizon!

Thanks Tay, it doesn't happen often, but I do have some sleepless nights due to life problems, never found a way to expel the anxiety (except maybe venting my thoughts into writing on notepad). at the very least, this might help abit in those cases.

Small sirloin strips fried along with dumplings, and a big bowl of mixed veggies. And a beer.

8/10 Suzu and Gitsune would get along. <3

I wouldn't take steam tags very seriously tbh, or ever expect them to be fixed either lol. You know just how many games are tagged as an rpg nowadays, yet have absolutely no rpg mechanics? a ton. -_-

Favorite Anime Voice Actors: Can be Subbed or Dubbed.
Suzu Fanatic replied to Meanpandabomba's topic in Anime/Manga Talk
1st place: Kana Ueda - has such a sultry voice imo, and has a huge range of moods. Does not seem to suffer from monotone acting. Plus, Tohsaka Rin. <3 2nd place: Whoever voiced Sakura Yoshino in Da Capo 2 (VN) - in the more serious scenes (not spoiling), some of her voice acting brought me close to tears, emotionally. (or an outright flood, depending on the scene). -
