Except when it comes to Rise (Ritsuko > Rise), you and I have our thoughts almost perfectly aligned.

I tend to avoid titles under a certain reputed length (I usually base it off what vndb claims it to be). So odds are it would be impossible for me to do a single sitting (you know, work, sleep, etc ). Though I will admit if I'm really into it, I will spend every free waking moment reading - even pushing myself to stay up late.

It has to be a really good scene for me to go that far - so many scenes are so badly written or cheesy it's hard to get in the mood. For me, it depends on how good the voice actress is~ She can make or break the mood. Without good writing or voice acting, its just another H pic, and I can find thousands of those on the net.

I like the idea of wincest in a VN, (like others, I tend to prefer the "safe" zone of two siblings close to the same age and not too young) aka Yosuga no sora (or to a much less obvious extent, Kanon (cousins) ). Not just for the obvious kink of it (there is that appeal, sure) - but I like it when/if they explore the social and moral dillemma involved in such a relationship. Making it the main route/focus would make for a great read imo. To see if/how the two overcome the stigma and the world's resentment. Can they find happiness and say "screw what others think."? Or will they walk separate paths, realizing it's too hard a journey? That's why I am so disappointed with a lot of VNs that have the incest tag, they just treat it like fluff and take it for granted. Everyone is happy-go-lucky with no repercussions or concerns. =/ Mind you, those ones tend to exist solely for the sake of porn and not much else, heh...

That was actually not intentional, and was in fact a bug with the first patch release. Typically, melee are not sopposed to be able to attack if not in first row (that goes for enemies as well as player). To counteract being completely screwed over in an ambush, consider putting points into the "Wary" skill, it lets you restore the formation during the fights via a command. Beyond that, your 2nd/3rd row will need some reworking if your relied on melees. =/

I thought overall it was a good VN, but I can definitely agree about the music - I think only one or two peices were "good" otherwise the rest was pretty forgettable. Ditto - as her route was my favorite, I'm curious to see what others thought.

I can't speak for others, but for myself I think it's psychological - despite being in my 30's, my general attitude is that of someone in their early 20's. I guess I never "grew up" (whatever that is). I mean, I' work for a lviing, worry about what I eat, and plan for my retirement - and yet I still love playing video games, reading VNs/watching anime. Things that a lot of "general society" consider immature. Screw them I say. But I'm getting offtopic, lol... I guess I can identify best when it's young adults (highschoolish level, or just beyond) because that's when a lot of my social development occurred. Not to say it ever stopped - but there's a certain lack of reality in that age range, you don't yet think about the future or worry about serious stuff as you do when older. That and older women are such a hassle 8 out of 10 times they are far too uptight to be enjoyable company, a bane for someone as immature as myself, heh. Kinda rambled, but thats my thoughts on it.

The side routes aren't anything great tbh. That's not really a flaw with the TL, but rather Minatosoft itself. Not really sure what they were aiming for, but the varying levels of quality is extremely evident in their works. Will be curious to see what the side routes are like in S, once that massive task is done. (though A is what I'm really waiting for)

Gets into a all-girls school, wins the lottery, is well-built, has good reflexes and has plenty of skills. .... I'll admit he's a little OP, but you just gotta take it for what it is if you want to enjoy the story. If there was any kind of off-set, it would be how socially inept he is most of the time (which can be the source of much laughter - or frustration - for the reader).
