Why is it that nobody open a English VN store/Studio in Japan?

err.... why the fuck would an English company open a store in Japan where 80% doesn't speak English that well... and Frontwing already released some of there titles alone... and VisualArts is also localizing some games. it is just a matter of time before we get more VNs and tbh I would prefer that MangaGamer, JAST and SP where the only company that localize VNs cause they make sure it's in correct and readable English. Also guess what time it is!?4 points

Bookmarked. Specialists have already come out and said why building a wall stretching the whole border is unfeasible. Also the wall will go through much public land, like National Parks, which will take negotiation through Congress, which will never happen. Which is why his 2,000 mile wall has suddenly become a 1,000 mile wall. When he was talking about "natural barriers" I'm sure he was talking about barriers for himself and not for the Mexicans. A classic "oh shit" moment. But Trump doesn't have to be "right" to win this election. Anyway in case anyone is curious, here's the 5 reasons Michael Moore thinks Trump will win: http://michaelmoore.com/trumpwillwin/3 points

Started Period. I'm after common route. There is 8 heroines with their routes, common route in very fast reading took me 4 hours (only one variant of common route, depending on choices it will be around 5-6 hours), and vndb is providig that this title is 10-30. Those routes will be (in average) max 3h long. This can't be any deep. ...but it doesn't need to be. This game is SO RIDICULOUSLY CUTE, (without being moe at all!), like nothing I ever encountered. Sooo smiliebringing atmosphere, nice cast, great art and technical aspects, and not insulting "story". Peacefull, nice, warm title. :)))) Aoi, tomboy character is going into my 'waifu pantheon'. No-nonense, active, no embarassment (DO NOT ruin it, h scenes, please!), funny girl, with great chemistry betwen her and protag. So much fun to read their scenes together. (of course, as alawys, there is one annoying character, tsun'ish, strict'ish, obnoxious and positioning everybody, childhood friend of protag. And she's "true" route of this game. D; Such a shame.)3 points

made a massive mistake by having started reading "soramimi×diamond" on some ill-willed recommendation, when originally only in need of something more light/amusing. feeling physically bad now. mentally hurt. soul of mine starts falling apart. in a way it´s almost comparable to madoka´s overall take on the world, paired with the grotesque, merciless and evil, all whilst staying hidden under a childishly innocent appearance. https://freegame-mugen.jp/adventure/game_4181.html3 points -

Luna Translations Weekly Update 10
Fred the Barber and 2 others reacted to Aizen-Sama for a blog entry
Okay, here we go again. This is our 10th blog update, but it will be our last weekly update. Why's that? Giving weekly updates has been a hassle lately, because preogress is made every week but I'm left with no things to talk about, so after a debate in our group we ultimately decided to go for Bi-Weekly Updates (Except when important announcements have to be made). I'll start the rundown of things, this'll be a short one: Majo Koi Nikki So, the progress (as I said in the last update) has recuperated both in Translation and Editing. We recruited a stable TLC to check the text for us now (thanks by the way, @Shiru) aaand yeah, that's pretty much it. TL: 28% (11185/40208) Edit: 15% (6166/40208) Witch's Garden Same news around here. Steady progress in Translation (although it's pretty slow considering we're focusing on TLC), Editing will finally start for real in a week or so and TLC progresses, nothing else to say tbh. We maybe start translating the interface soon, but we'll see. Translation: 63%(42627/67197) TLC: 9%(5933/67197) Editing: 4%(2951/67197)3 points -
It's a throwback to this: ~~ OT: probably because it'd be unprofitable.2 points

I really like euphoria's interface system. It's probably one of the most user-friendly interfaces I've ever seen in VNs: The auto-mode doesn't skip over voices and yet doesn't lag behind when the voice acting is over (immediately moving onto the next line, unlike Umineko which has no pause between each voiced-line in auto-mode it becomes unnatural, or G-senjou no Maou when there's sometimes weird awkward pauses after a voiced line is finished). There's a warning that tells you that the next line is a voiced line so you wouldn't skip over any voiced lines you're currently listening to. For example, if I am currently listening to a voiced line and I hit 'Enter' without knowing it's finished playing or not (since some voice-acting has awkward pauses before a voiced line is finished), and the next line contains voice acting, it will replace the one I'm currently listening to, so this feature helps to prevent that. Best of all, and definitely a must-have for all eroges, hitting 'Esc' minimizes the game and turns off all sounds of the game you might be embarrassed about. lol No more fear for barging relatives who look at you with a disappointed face... I wish most visual novels contain an interface like this. A lot of them have problems with the playing of the voices, resulting in pauses or skips in-between. It's interesting how controversial eroges have better game-designs than non-eroges (as far as the English-translated ones go anyway). For example, School Days, which contains a massive amount of branches and animated dialogue scenes, something you don't usually see in VNs (aside from the Oscar-winning exception of Key games with their massive branches, particularly Clannad). Then again, I heard that most h-game designers were forced to make them out of a need for money, so they might have seized the opportunity to place their focus on creating better game-design since they have no interest in the sex stuff they're forced to create.2 points

Unlimited Blade Works is great, just passed Illya's farewell. For one there's no focus on Shirou x Saber so we're spared from Shirou spouting out his infuriating BS philosophies at Saber, I don't think he annoyed me at all so far this route, +1 Rin's still as awesome as always, Archer actually gets to have an impact on the story (and piss me off in a good way(?)), the conflicts and confrontations are more complex and entertaining rather than just consisting of Saber 1v1ing everyone ggez call it a day (i.e. fk everybody, especially Archer, Shirou x Rin dream team vs. the whole world np, gogogo!), and I can't believe a character like Illya who creeped me out so much managed to make me tear up this time around ._. Pacing's much better too. Fate route had to do ALOT of setting up, not to mention Shirou cockblocking Saber with his ridiculous reluctance to fight, and so there were many, many days wasted with Shirou just idling, training or getting magic lessons before anything interesting happened (then when it finally does, it's a very cliche 'must stop the evil big baddie!' - underwhelming and boring.) That's kind of a weakness with plot heavy multi-route VNs: some characters who have prominent roles in one route will get glossed over in another route due to the 'it'll be redundant!!' syndrome. Makes individual routes feel incomplete, sometimes I would just prefer one grand route that jams everything in there, have Berserker and Caster and Rider all wreak havoc before throwing in the G man to really make things look hopeless Favorite moment in this route so far: Really captured the intensity of the moment for me, and for once I shall cheer on Shirou's reckless superhero-must-save-all-even-at-the-cost-of-my-own-life attitude And it's #worth, especially for the scoldin' he gets after2 points -

Bishoujo Mangekyou TL Update 27
Aizen-Sama and one other reacted to Arcadeotic for a blog entry
Quite a sluggish week this was. Aside from prologue patch 2.0, I nor the whole team didn't get that much done due to being busy, but nonetheless, getting the updated patch out was a huge accomplishment in and of itself, so I'm not really disappointed. Got some QC and editing done and that's about it; we're still fixing the remaining errors that the kicked editor manages to cause, but it's more or less done by this point, so no worries. Progress: Translation: 100% Editing: 25,7% QC: 16% Proofreading: 0%2 points -

I think the main point is that the wall with Mexico is the centerpiece of Trump's policy goals, yet his supporters that are actively involved in the political process all have different ideas of what the policy *actually is*. Some supporters appear to believe that the wall is a metaphor (to galvanize anti-immigrant sentiments?). Not an actual policy goal. Some supporters believe that Trump's wall will be the realization of prior initiatives to construct a fence that stretches the entire border. Other supporters believe that Trump's wall will be analogous to the Berlin Wall / Great Wall of China, staffed by military personnel like a military base and with intruders shot on sight. That's clearly a policy failure. His policy is so incoherent even his own supporters have no idea what he means. Certainly politicians in the past and present have been guilty of similar failures, but not on the same scale as Trump. He's literally a demagogue with no coherent policy objectives at all.1 point

Nutaku wants to emulate the Steam model. That means not picking and choosing titles based on production values, review scores, or other (often arbitrary) metrics. Compare that to the traditional retail model, where stores only stock games they think will do well. That same model is systematically suppressing eroge and other niche games. My problem with Nutaku's effort here is that they're excluding games that have offensive content they don't want to deal with. That compromises the model's premise.1 point

That is a fantastic way of putting it. Demonbane is cheesy and ridiculous, but definitely fun. Oddly, I don't really enjoy B movies, but I did enjoy this game (well, particularly just Al's true ending; the other ones didn't really do much for me).1 point -

Wow, that's some really bad CG. Nice colours, and 'editing', but picture is just shit. Left leg is going sooooooo wide, that she's looking like some atrocious mutant from 80s' science fiction movies. Her palm is the size of her eye. She's holding her hands like somebody demented. Her head is sooooo big that it's wider than her waist, and her hair is just a humongous helmet. I made fast sketch in paint:1 point -
