  2. Ooooh, I love old things too, and new things looking all retro. I love playing RPGs, and I find it so charming when they look like the original Final Fantasy or original Dragon Quest! That eventually made me go deeper in the abyss looking for RPG Maker games, since some of those indie producers do an awesome job recreating that old magic! Fukai ni Nemuru Oujo no Abaddon is an example. The entire game, from graphics to soundtrack, looks like something made for Famicon, but it was released in 2014! It really is awesome if you like horror stuff!

  3. I have always had an affinity for old things. When I see those old VN promo vids that look like they were created in PowerPoint, it excites me. Many years ago, I visited Japan and searched around for a copy of ONE ~Kagayaku Kisetsu e~ on Windows 95. The list goes on. I am sure there is a hipster mentality to it. Also, I guess old things can be rare, and people like rare things. When the box is yellow from old age, that is a good sign to me. They are relics, and owning them is like a sign of respect. I want to see if anyone else has a thing for old games? Are there any old hidden gems you know of (older than Kanon let's say)? Any blogs or channels that cover older VNs? Just getting some of them to run is a challenge, but there is charm in that, too. Opinions, stories, happy to read about all of them. Thank you !

    I Should Thank Fuwanovel

On May 11th, 2017 (ie, Thursday last week) the parody visual novel "Stay! Stay! Democratic People's Republic of Korea" was released. Most people probably know that I wrote it. Well, 90% or so of it, there were some humor changes and a couple last-minute changes to make some things make sense, those were done by the Project Leader. But for the vast majority of it, it's my handiwork. I actually got picked for the project because the developer advertised here on the boards. I submitted a sample, they liked it and brought me in. So without the boards, I wouldn't have had the chance to do the project. For that I'm extremely grateful. I'm actually really grateful because, in a sense, it's a comeback for me. A long time ago I wrote sports articles for newspapers. You may not think it's relevant, but the sports section is actually one of the places you're supposed to expect some creativity when it comes to writing. The last year I had done it, I was in New Hampshire at a weekly start-up in its infancy - The Connecticut Valley Spectator (it was owned by The Eagles Times, but they went kaput years ago during the first couple death waves to newspapers). They pretty much turned over most of the staff after about 8-9 months, including myself. To be fair, I was doing everything for the section then - stories, page layout, even photography. I was pretty burned out, and trying to get people on board for a new local weekly isn't easy. Once I was let go with the others, I hadn't really done a job in professional writing since. No, this isn't me trying to influence the forthcoming review. It is what it is and if the reviewer here loves it great, if not, I'm willing to listen to what they think would have been better. But the initial Steam reviews, both "real" and "shitposting real" have been really good. But it also just feels really nice to have written something that people are reading once again. And without the boards here, it wouldn't have happened. So this place - it's alright. And yes, you can tell me how much you loved or hated it if you read it. I don't bite. I'm actually super nice. WAIT WRONG ICON!!!

    A love for older VNs

Some older VNs are just awesome... but most suck. If you replace the music, Tsukihime is awesome. It is good even if you don't, but it reminds me of why I got into VNs, since Tsukihime was my first (within nine months I was playing in Japanese, lol).

  6. Pretty sure the 18+ patch will work on all versions of the game. The patch will also be free.

  8. I love the PC-98 aesthetic. It is rather far from realistic, but it's much more vibrant and expressive than the current bog-standard "everything is shiny!" art style that pervades much of the medium. YU-NO is one of my favorite VNs (although sadly I do not own a copy) thanks to, in no small part, its art style.

    A love for older VNs

Some games from 2000-2004 can be pretty interesting for me like: Mist ~second edition~ Himawari (not the english one) Reminiscence Blue Kokoro Navi Virgin Snow and well I played Snow but that one is trash. + some other stuff I don't remember, but 2000 is pretty much the limit for me.

    Hatsukoi 1/1

Hatsukoi 1/1 Summary Yuuma is a second year student at the prestigious public school Hoshioka Gakuen. It is known for offering a fulfilling school life, but he has yet to experience love and spends his days lacking any satisfaction. He hasn’t made any progress with his classmates nor his osananajimi. All he can do is look at his love interest, the student council leader Midori, from a distance. One day, he saw her with a troubled face. It seemed that the remaining members of the school cafeteria improvement committee had resigned. After giving it some thought, he volunteered to lead the committee. After that fateful moment, his surroundings became a lot more lively and before long, his first love had blossomed. Ending Guideline / Suggested Route Order This VN has five heroines, Maya, Kyou, Midori, Yukino, and Runa. Since this is charage, feel free to play whatever order you like. That said, Route Guideline As for the choices that didn't exist in this walkthrough, all of those were available after past May 2nd in which you're already locked at one route. Therefore, if you see the choice after May 2nd, feel free to chose whichever you like. Tsukishima Kyou Tokizaki Maya Makabe Midori Fujikawa Runa Morino Yukino Attribution This walkthrough is based from the walkthrough made by the translator themselves with some adjustment made by myself.
