  1. First Nekonyan announcements is not that bad though, because at least they still manage to get two of their big title at that time (Sanoba and Fureraba) released on schedule and sometimes it should be enough to make the impact for most of the people (I'm content with it by the way). For the rest of the three, HGB was released at January 2019, Sukiren was released at May 2019, and Melty Moment still unreleased until today thanks to the complication behind the translation progress. Nowadays they didn't announced the exact (Or hard) release date until they're really ready, and when they do that it mean that the VN in question is really ready for the release. Anyway as for the topic I prefer second method in that the company should announce the new title when it's almost ready for the release, and you can see on how JAST did improve after they did that method recently with their recent title is a big one (Muramasa) instead of announcing the title early (It help though that they decided to produce the hard copy later and release the download version first so that we didn't need to wait for JAST to produce the hard copy as well). That said while the method is good for us, the company should absolutely make sure that they can deliver the release on time before decided to do this or otherwise they'll be like Sol Press in which turned out they didn't have enough resources to release the VNs on time after announced several new title with exact release date in the near future. While I prefer second method, Nekonyan and Mangagamer here did use the first method in that they announce the new title first in order to build the hype and then working on it (Both companies so far are quite reliable when it come to releases). Of course it also carry some risk in that it will lessen the hype if the translation progress is taking too much time, but as long as the pacing at work is good enough it shouldn't be much trouble for them to release their VNs in reasonable time frame. So in the end while I prefer what JAST did recently, the first method should be good to use seeing that it mean the companies can make sure that they have enough resources to work on the VNs, although obviously preferably the company shouldn't took too much licenses so much that it became too much to handle like Sekai.
  2. Are you that desperate so much that you decided to write some unproven statement that having role model in VN would increase the economy of a country? I afraid that this time I must be blunt by saying that you didn't do this for the sake of African American like you always said, but it's merely for the sake of yourself who always order us to help you in any way to fulfill your own wish that even not reasonable seeing that you're just Asian instead of African American like many of us think (Also even if you're African American your campaign would still raise some question). Let me give you some suggestion by saying that you should try to quit your obsession of having black skinned MC in the VN, or otherwise you can chose to trap yourself in self-created depression forever. Your choice. PS - I know that you did ask JAST USA to making a VN with black skinned MC, so let me give you some reminder that JAST USA is just a publisher of the translated Japanese VNs and obviously not some company that you can freely command to make a specific VN that you want. PPS - After I read the so-called benefit for African American, let me say that your statement is quite shallow as in you just believe that African American need some role model in VN to lift their spirit, where in fact they can also has many real life role model to lift their spirit just like any people in the world are. Also when it come to VN, some if not most would probably won't self insert into the MC shoes so I don't think that race is really matter much when it come to the MC in the VNs.
  3. Well as long as Nekonyan manage to juggle their remaining licenses in a reasonable timeframe, it should be possible to see them released Dracu Riot in this century. Even if they didn't manage to release Dracu Riot in the near future, Nekonyan still has 78 and half years to release it at this century. That said, you don't really need to wait for Nekonyan to finally release it because there's already leaked unedited patch of Dracu Riot, albeit without the new feature that the HD version offer (I'll assume that Yuzusoft will add flowchart and the improvement in sprite mode into Dracu Riot HD version).
  4. Since we have Snow big progress along with Study Steady release, I'd just change 'Study' with 'Snow' so we have Snow Steady as this week VNTS Review, which to say would fitting Australian seeing that currently they're in winter (Interestingly we have a novel with the title 'Steady as the Snow Fall'). As for this week VNTS Review, we have White Album 2 translator reveal their current situation of the project along with Frontwing finally reveal the exact release date for Sharin and Fakku announced their new nukige VN, so I suppose I can say that this week is more or less an average one. Let's see what I can write in regard of this week VNTS Review here. Shiravune finally released the English version of the nukige that was at first only available in Chinese language, although my response is still the same though in that I'll just skip the release. Still you can try the nukige if you already been interested ever since Shiravune did release it in Chinese only language, and have fun. Speaking of nukige, Fakku did reveal that they've been working on the nukige with the name Zero Chastity A Sultry Summer Holiday with the premise that the MC who's the student of all boy school stay in the dormitory that was run by single mom who has three daughter, and the four ladies would happen to be quite hungry when it come to sex and thus it's out MC's job to satisfy them. Anyway currently Fakku already testing the VN in question and they already set the release estimation, in which it'll be at September later. Speaking of release announcement, Aksys announced that they'll release Olympia Soiree at September 9th later. Lastly, we have Frontwing announce the exact release date for Sharin, and it happen to be at tomorrow (15th) so you may get Sharin with the new translation if you've been waiting for it for quite a while. For this week fan translation updates, we have Harugi was at 19% edited, Eustia was at 91.82% TLC-ed with Licia's chapter was at 56.49% TLC-ed, and Taimanin Kurenai was at 10% edited. We also have Rewrite Oka-ken being released with both chapter was translated, and I only know that it was written by Ryukishi07 along with that it's the bonus for DVD version of Rewrite anime. Well at least it should be good addition for Rewrite fans, so Rewrite fans can read this in case they want to read more Rewrite while waiting Sekai to finished their work on it. As for Snow, currently the common route of it was fully translated and now the translator about to translate both of Sumino and Asahi's routes. Last but not the least, we have White Album 2 translator team reveal their situation with the current progress that they're about to finished the editing work on Coda (Last part of White Album 2), and that currently the team did some playtesting. There's still no exact date when we'll finally have White Album 2 full translation patch finally released, but the translator did say that the patch should be ready by either at Summer or Autumn later so let's wait and see in regard of the patch later. That's all for this week VNTS Review, and sorry if this week here is quite short. See you next week.
  5. Memory Dogma - The opening song is quite good with some 2D animation and the story has some potential even with serial format. Too bad though that apparently the company has been bankrupted before they even manage to create the second part of this, so let's just say that the chance to see this worked on was none (At least until the company was revived somehow). Sukiren - It has two triangle love story, although unlike White Album 2 or School Days it's on the lighter side. Other thing to note is that each heroines have a otaku media that they like, and one of the interesting thing here is to see on how said media did influence the heroines personalities. Oh yes Nekonyan did localize this so you can play this in English, and while mod Clephas said that this is charage one should note that Sukiren here has a lot of comedy that come from otaku media. Nekonyan also localize Karichaimashita, and from what I hear apparently Asa Project did improve the formula that they have in Sukiren at Karichaimashita later. That's all for my comment on November 2016 releases.
  6. Re:Lief - The setting is in isolated island without the internet, and thus our MC need to adapt into it so that he can survive. The opening song is nice to listen if I may say something. Plastic Memories - I only know that it's anime has sad ending, and that Hayashi Naotaka of Steins Gate fame did write the anime as well as this VN. Oh yes Naotaka here also write two more endings for Plastic Memories, although I don't know if those endings are as sad as the anime one or not. Mary Skelter - Idea Factory dark RPG with the character from fairy tale, and no much I can say in regard of this. Idol Death Game TV - Just think of this as Danganronpa with idol, although there's only seven participants though. Interesting to note that two revieweres (Gangrelion and Awesome Curry) did have very opposing opinion towards this VN, so perhaps you may try it in order to find whether this VN is good or not (Though looks like most of people think that this VN is not quite good). I can only say that there's no battle against monster, but instead you can scheme against the other participants for your own survival. Forgot to mention that the character designer here is also Sadistic Blood character designer (Ueda Metawo), although obviously you won't see well drawn disturbing sex scenes in this VN because this is console (PSV) VN. That's all for my comment in regard of October 2016 releases.
  7. Sen no Hatou - August VN with Japanese empire setting, and that it has Show Hayami as one of the cast which make this VN is his only eroge CV. No much to say other than it also has the setting of politic when it come to this VN, which make sense because of the empire thing. The opening song is nice to hear. Tayutama 2 - Hikari Field want to localize this, although seeing that their sample translation is bad and their PR is left a lot to be desired so far there's no much update from this. Well Nekonyan may localize this in the future, although it would be still awkward to localize this without the prequel first. Utawarerumono 3 - The continuation from cliffhanger ending at Utawarerumono 2, and unlike the last VN this time the casts was directly face the war that was happened as the result of the action near the end of the last part. Utawarerumono 3 here is not only solve the problem from the last part, but it's also resolve some plot thread from the first part as well. Forgot to mention beforehand that both Utawarerumono 2 and 3 battle system was vastly improved from the first Utawarerumono (Especially the old PC version), and that we can have Utawarerumono 3 on PC thanks to Shiravune. That's all for what I can comment on September 2016 releases.
  8. Ginharu - At first Trip did translate this just like he did back at Hoshiori, although too bad that turned out it become too much for him and as the result he decided to retire and therefore leave it was at two thirds translate. Irru still want to finish this, although seeing that there's no competent translator to help him safe to say that it'll be a very long time until we got to see the last third of this being translated. Anyway that aside more or less this is the same as Hoshiori, with some difference in that we see all of the casts from junior high school all the way to the adulthood which mean Ginharu here is another long VN from tone's work. Of course like Hoshiori, we'll get the extensive after stories for each of the heroines there. Chuusotsu - Other than it's the late Conjueror's work and that it filled with philosophy, no much that I can say in regard of this. Inochi no Spare - The well known utsuge from Akabei Soft 3, in that it tell the story about on how the MC met a girl who suffer frightening heart disease that somehow can attack the people easily in the setting. In any case, it's quite clear that the writer just ask the reader to cry for the MC and the girl who fall in love with each other before their inevitable demise instead of asking the explanation of the disease because it's obvious that the writer didn't really know (Or rather didn't intended) on writing how to resolve the disease problem. At least the MC here can be said as strong character so much that he's part of the casts instead of usual self-insert character. That's all for my comment in regard of August 2016 releases.
  9. Welcome to Fuwanovel and sorry for the belated greeting. As for romance VN, I suppose I can suggest something like Makeover or Hoshiori, or if you want more than you can try Kirikoi or Sugar Style. I hope that you'll have fun here.
  10. Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and as for the title I'll tell it at PS later. As for this week, well Sekai did have AX Lite announcements and Nekonyan have their usual monthly updates along with two VNs releases, so we van see that this week is quite an active one even though Sekai's announcements are not as big as I expected. Oh well, and let's see what I can write for this week. Cherry Kiss Games decided to release another nukige at 16th later, and the nukige localized name is Horny Housewives Booty Call Blackmail. Speaking of blackmail, we have GL VN with the premise that love was started from blackmail Letters from a Rainy Days was released at Steam. From what I see, apparently the story not put much focus on the mystery who's the blackmailer but instead the romance that happen as the result of the blackmail. While to be fair the romance should be the main focus, it would be still nice to see the answer from the mystery if possible. In any case, at least my guess is proven right in that this is the first part of serial VN judging from on how short the playtime of this VN and a number of supporting characters that can form two more couples along with the sentence 'Episode Shiori Minato x Mikoto Kurahashi', so let's see when the developer can release the second part later. In any case you want to play this GL VN, go get it and have fun. For Nekonyan's updates, we finally have Hello Lady engine work was wrapping up which could be interpreted as finally the developer took the action to work on the engine so let's hope that we have see more QA progress from Hello Lady in the near future. Other than that, we have Aoi Tori was at halfway translated, Cafe Stella was at 65% translated and edited, Makeover FD was at 30% translated, Mirai Radio was at 78% edited, Karichaimashita was fully edited along with a quarter in QA, and 1st secret project was at 90% translated along with a quarter edited. From fan translation, we have Chaos Head Noah was at 93.57% translated (Common route was at 95.39% translated) along with 16.30% TLC-ed and 9.57% edited, Aya's route in Akatsuki no Goei was fully translated and now the translator put his focus on translating Moe's route, 85.8% original lines of Summer Pocket being reworked, and Snow common route was at 91% translated. Speaking of Snow, turned out that the group who translate it also has two new projects. The first project is Konosora Snow Projects in which it's another Konosora FD with the main heroine is Kotori herself (Who apparently is quite popular), and the second is restoration of Miagete sex scenes. I definitely interested with the latter because so far we have two failed Miagete restoration project, although whether they can do it later or not we still need to wait and see in regard of it (By the way I agree with the translator that Pulltop's engine is quite bothersome to work with). As for Sekai new VNs announcements, three of those are predictable seeing that they already license the prequel of those (Those three VNs are ReLord 3, Amairo Chocolata 2, and Slobbish Dragon Princess 2). Sekai also did announce AD 2236 Prequel, which to say good for 2236 fans. Lastly while I did say that Sekai's announcements are quite underwhelming, actually their last announcement Qualia itself is quite interesting to a degree with the premise on how the MC who is a lonely scientist slowly growing a special feeling towards his maid robot. We also have the updates from Sekai as well, and as for the updates we have Qualia was fully translated and edited, Karakara 3 was at 15% edited, Amairo Chocolata 2 was at 29% translated, 2236 Prequel was fully translated and edited, ReLord 3 was fully translated, and Slobbish Dragon Princess 2 was at 96% translated. Lastly we have Sekai announced Nekopara Catboy Paradise release date, and it'll be at 15th. Last but not the least, we have JAST released Onigokko in which it tell us the story about the MC who work as Phantom Thief who's been searching for his impostor. Also like any charage story can tell us, the MC will have romance with the heroines which in this case there'll be four heroines who actually the descendant of the four characters from Japanese folktale (Momotaro, Kintarou, Issun Boshi, and Otohime). Go get Onigokko if you've been interested with this for a while, and have fun. Oh yes while Sekai did bring some new announcements at AX Lite, curiously JAST didn't join it so we didn't have them announced Flowers Hiver at this year (They'll probably announce it when it's about to be released later). That's all for this week VNTS Review, and see you next week. PS - For the title since we have Sekai did announce both of Qualia and Amairo Chocolate 2 as their new projects I decided to parodied Stella Glow opening song, Hikari no Metamorphosis, by changing 'Hikari' into 'Chocolata' so we have 'Chocolata no Metamorphosis as this week VNTS Review. The reason I decided to chose Stella Glow opening song is because in Stella Glow it happen that there's a gem that can transform human into witch called qualia.
  11. Shibukuzu - Mod Dergonu did attempt to translate this VN before decided to stop it because of his business, and oh yes it's quite a disturbing VN when it come to sex scenes. Corona Blossom - Frontwing first attempt to release serial VN along with simultaneous release with both of English and Japanese language, and let's say that they're quite successful at it to a degree. Amatsutsumi - Purple Software VN that was localized by Sekai, and so far it's still not released yet. The premise is we have the MC who stranded out at unknown place, and obviously someone did help him to adapt with his new places. Also Purple Software did ramp up the number of the sex scenes, from 12 scenes at Chrono Clock to 22 scenes. Senren Banka - At first Sekai got the license of this, although it's not been working on for 17 months until Nekonyan took over it and released this back at 2020 Valentine day. While obviously you should just expect usual charage per Yuzusoft VNs, this time each route did contain some hint to the bigger picture of the setting so one can say that Yuzusoft did put a bit of effort to write more in regard of the setting. That's all for my comments on July 2016 releases.
  12. Kyoto Colorful Days - GL VN with the setting in Kyoto, and also one of Sekai's first releases. Karakara - The opening song is quite good and the setting is shown some promises, but ultimately this is more or less Nekopara like moege to a degree. Lamunation - This VN has a lot of comedy that come from the casts makes a lot of references, so one should approach it with that mindset. That said if one didn't find Lamunation comedy click perhaps it might be not interesting VN, especially when the story can be summarized as 'the MC and his four heroines have a lot of fun in summer' (There's Moegamer's review on this if you want to look at Lamunation from another perspective). Oh yes we have this localized, and since the engine was ported because the lack of money to license it unfortunately the localized version did lack some of basic features in modern VNs. Lastly I can say that I prefer the 2nd opening song more. That's all for my comment on June 2016 releases, and looking at Kyoto Colorful Days made me a bit nostalgic back when I made VNTS Review blogposts.
  13. Flowers Automne - Third part of Flowers tetralogy, and in this part our Suou was getting closer to the truth about the circumstances that happen around her. The main focus here is two upperclassman who about to be be graduated though, and that Suou got a new position as student council president. Anyway this is the beginning of the finale for Hiver, and I'm sure that JAST will announce that they already licensed Hiver sometimes in the future. Miagete FD - Thanks to Alka we have this translated, although since this VN is uncensored and yet the main VN is censored no thanks to Pulltop it was quite awkward situation. At least there's a project to uncensored Miagete, although it would be the question whether the new team can finally do it or not (Frankly I agree with the translator team that Pulltop's engine is quite a pain to take care of, especially compared to Eushully's engine). Sakuramori - Kure's horror VN that I assumed he did want to create this ever since Suika, and in here at the beginning our MC is faced with the fact that his childhood friend (Madoka) getting murdered. In order to move on, he decided to fight the evil supernatural being that haunt the town together with four heroines. Some did praise the common routes and did criticize the characters routes, although really it can goes the same way that some may prefer characters routes over common route. Oh yes Kure did retain his writing from back at Evangile in which he prioritize his writing over a heroine that didn't get a route, and in this case it's Madoka who still beside the MC as the ghost and thus naturally she won't have a route. That's all for my comment in regard of May 2016 releases.
  14. Island - Well it's fine if mod Clephas didn't like it if he looks from science fiction idea instead of love story idea. That aside, Island here is all age VN so don't bother to ask for uncensor patch lol. It also has anime adaptation, and it did implement a certain outcome a bit more compared to the VN. In the end, I suppose just toned down the expectation when it come to Island and enjoy the story. Frontwing themselves did localize this, so you can play this in English. Dal Segno - Da Capo in tropical setting, and I admit that the place setting is quite unique with the heroines wore summer uniform even though the timeline is supposed to be at winter. Like Da Capo, just expect some light hearted character routes although in this case the true route did subvert that idea to a degree. Lilycle - GL VNs that has Hatsune Miku's VA (Fujita Saki) and other than her the other VAs are also quite well known for anime fans. No much that I can say on Lilycle here. Majikoi A-5 - Another Majikoi milking, so whatever. Sankai Ou no Yubiwa - An infamous Eushully VN that apparently got bad reputation, so much that there's no interface patch for this. The common critic is something like lack of differences between MCs stories along with hard to understand gameplay if I remember. Oh yes in here Eushully did try to use pirate story, so at least we should give them some praise for willing to experiment on new formula a bit. That's all for my comments in regard of April 2016 releases.
  15. Kouya - I only know that it's the VN about eroge making that was written by Tanaka Romeo, although in practice it's more like Takahiro's work though because he has full control of scenario writing (Or so that's what I read). Akeiro - It's even darker VN compared to Nanairo, and it featured the oni heroines from Nanairo. No much I can say in regard of this other than the MC has some troublesome dream. Jeanne - Underrated Liar-soft VN that was just recently locslized by Mangagamer, and one of review did criticize rape heavily. To be fair though, it shouldn't be a surprise if one play old Liar-soft VNs seeing that it has some rape, although it might be quite surprising if one play English translated only Liar-soft VNs. Kaziklu Bey - Dies Irae spinn-off featuring Wilhelm, and too bad that Wilhelm's VA is not Akira Ishida in which it would make a nice relationship with Mamiko Noto (The heroine VA) if one remember Fairy Tail casts. Maitetsu - It's not a nukige even with a number of lolicon sex scenes, seeing that it's just separated from the main game and the main part is devoid of it (Canonically each route has one sex scene only if I remember). Anyway with the loli and the abundant number of unlockable sex scenes aside, the premise is Soutetsu who want to revitalize his hometown through steam train, and thus he decided to work hard on it. Sekai did localized this, although with some controversy in which Lose fid censor the panty shot and yet the sex scenes are still intact. While it might be bothersome for most people, personally I'm mostly didn't pay much attention to it (At least there's uncensor patch for it). Oh yes as usual Lose show a lot of outfit variation for the heroines, and that Maitetsu has a lot of the discussion about train. That's all for my comment in regard of March 2016 releases.
  16. Well so far all of Fata Morgana are available through official localization, so if you're asking for English fan translation then yes it's not exist in the first place. As for platform, it's available for PC, PS4, PSV, and Switch.
  17. Well all of the recommended Eushully VNs above did have interface patch, although if you really want to save some effort to hooking the text then my personal recommendation would be both of Amayui Castle Meister and Kami no Rhapsody (I did personally work on the interface patch for the former). Though in the end, well it's up to you which Eushully VN that you want to pick up. But if you want my saying on both VNs, I would say that Amayui have better gameplay compared to Rhapsody although in the end the gameplay from both are pretty enjoyable to it's own.
  18. Since we have Taisho Alice Epilogue released and that the plot is resemble Oretsuba to a degree (According to this review of Oretsuba, and beware of the spoiler from Oretsuba and Taisho Alice if you want to read one of it (Or perhaps both)), I decided to parodied Oretsuba English title 'We Without Wings' by changing 'We' into 'Alice' so we have 'Alice Without Wings' as this week VNTS Review. Coincidentally Oetsuba has non-heroine character with the name Alice, although she's just side character from what I see. Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and as for this week it's quite complicated with Laplacian decided to released Aojashin in all age version only along with Study Steady release on Johren only, although on the hand though we have Taisho Alice Epilogue. So all in all, I suppose this week is just slightly less average one, and let's see what I can write in regard of this week. It's just too bad that Shiravune only interested to release Study Steady on Johren only which mean that the customer will need to deal with Denuvo which to say is quite bothersome, although on the other hand at least this time we also have English language as well unlike a certain nukige release. It would be nice though if Shiravune released all of their VNs on Steam again, but considering Valve's treatment on Ryuusei in that they banned it three times I suppose it's asking too much from them (And Valve definitely didn't help at all). As for the premise, well it's more or less just the MC met the heroines and apparently it's more or less like CATION series instead of Smee VNs in that for the most part you'll see the romance between the MC and the chosen heroine. I also know that it happen to has a lot of sex scenes, in that each heroines has 7 to 8 scenes so at least there'll be 30 sex scenes. Anyway go get the VN if you're in mood for some moege with good graphic and have fun. Coupled with Suzukuri Karin-chan release, at least good to see Shiravune being active even though the implementation of Denuvo made their reputation a bit infamous. Laplacian decided to go all age from now on and they also established PRINCIPIA in which it'll be their 18+ brand, which is not too bad in paper. Except it come with a problem in that they're still in the process of localizing their Magnum Opus Aojashin and as the consequence it'll be all age, which to say would open a can of worm if we recall Pulltop and Harukaze overseas releases because it mean that the sex scenes on that will be removed. Of course Laplacian know the risk, and so the writer decided to add more writing in the overseas release. What I can say is that they can move forward to all age for all I care, but in the end it's unacceptable to not give the option to either read the all age version or 18+ version when it come to the localized VN, especially if turned out that the new contents aren't enough to make up for the censored contents (At least Dies Irae new contents are enough to compensate the loss of sex scenes). Oh well, and for the info there's still no release date on this. From fan translation we have new update in regard of White Album 2, with the newest update is that they'll add 14 more of the CG from PS3 version so obviously it mean that the engine will be worked for a while (Of course I welcomed that news). We also have Akagoei translator did finished his work on Aya's route and as for the next plan he'll translate Moe's route, and we also have new Yosuga no Sora patch release in which it edited halfway of Motoka's route a lot (The download link for the patch). For the other fan translation updates, we have Shin Koihime Musou was at 46% edited, Harugi was at 18% edited, and Taimanin Kurenai was at 5% edited. We have age did announce that they'll release Muv Luv Total Eclipse at this year winter, and I only know that it's the first Muv Luv that have the anime adaptation and that age still use the same setting so I'll pass (Good for Muv Luv fans though and at least the graphic is looking good). Almost forgot to mention that turned out Sekai did need to delay their Rewrite+ release (I'm not really surprised by this for the info) seeing that it's still in the work with the current progress was at almost completely translated (98% translated) along with 85% edited. Last but not the least, we have Taisho Alice Epilogue released in Steam back at 24th. The premise is once again about Alice who somehow can romance the gender bent princesses from the fairy tales, and at each chapter Alice will try to know more what the problem that plague her lovers and do her best to resolve it, and in this epilogue Alice will find out the truth behind the story. With this now we have all Taisho Alice properly translated, and it really came up a long way ever since we see the first part had the bad translation along with the VA did his best to dub all of the heroes lol. Go get Taisho Alice if you either want to play some good otome VN or curious in regard of Oretsuba like story that I mentioned above, and have fun. That's all for this week VNTS Review, and see you next week. PS - I know that today we have the releases both of Letters from A Rainy Day and Onigokko, although I'll talk about those two VNs at my next VNTS Review along with (Possibly) several announcements from Sekai at AX Lite.
  19. You can always pick the current Sharin translation though, but if you want to wait then it's okay. For the recommendation, I guess I can recommend something like Daitoshokan, Senren Banka, Dracu Riot (Like Sharin you can also pick the available translation), and Sanoba Witch. I don't know if you already read those VNs or not, but if not then I hope my recommendations here would be helpful to you.
  20. Once again late to comment here, so let's make it short here. About MAMIYA just like you I didn't know much of it either other than it's been translated by the late Conjueror, and I happen to think the same in regard of GNOSIA. At least both title may be interesting to play in case you're bored of usual anime art of VNs. May surely is a passionate month seeing that it has nukige, and well some of those are big releases because it has big breasts lol. Pun aside, none of the nukige releases are quite big or interesting to me, but at least I know it should be good to anyone else who like to see sex scenes. Also Horny Housewife is Chinese only, so it's not counted to have English release (The first blunder by Shiravune when it come to overseas release, although it's not like I care about that nukige anyway. By the way good to see that JAST releases Closed Game, although I still wait for them to release Yamizome Revenger. Interesting staffs behind World's End Club, although it might be not as good as people expected though. At least it has interesting premise. Good to see that Fantasy Tavern released the last part of it, and with that all of the VN are complete. It's more or less just usual isekai cafe story, although ironically the format here make it unique on it's own because there's still no much isekai VN that were translated while we seen enough isekai manga (I know that several Cherry Kiss nukige are technically isekai VN, but that's not quite what I want to see when it come to isekai VN lol). We have Mangagamer did reveal one of their secret project is Amrilato's sequel and that we have Oshirabu FD overseas release announcement from the same company (Sukera), so it's good to see that all of Sukera VNs are available in English. Speaking of release announcement, we have Letter from A Rainy Days in which it'll be released tomorrow. The premise looks interesting, although then again I may expect too much from it (The writer did write several mystery VNs, albeit a light one). Loopers looks good from the graphic alone and that it has Ryukishi07 as the writer, although turned out that it has some problem such as the story being rushed because it's too short and the like (Perhaps the fans of Ryukishi should keep the expectation in check when it come to Loopers). You can read the translated trial if you want to read it now, and as for this Visual Arts decided to handle this by themselves so good to see more KEY VN being officially localized. Last but not the least (Or maybe 'last and the least' for most of people), we have Amayui fully translated narration along with heavily edited interface patch (I did work on the latter). I know that no amount of explanation would easily convince most of the people to give this a chance seeing that the translator (Depravity) admitted that he did MTL-ed of it and understandably people did antsy about MTL, but at least one should consider that the removal of this entry is the reason on why VNDB decided to allow MTL-ed patch entry on it (Also I did read that some on who read this didn't find much problem on it). So yeah it's quite ironic that MTL-ed Amayui patch here become the biggest release on May to me. That's all for what I can comment in regard of May 2021.
  21. World Election - Would be nice though if Sekai localized this instead of their short cat and dragon girls VNs with the former are inspired by Nekopara, but at least they still keep their good drawn graphic if anything else. Nekopara 2 - The sequel of Nekopara in which it feature new catgirls, and obviously it's still has a lot of sex scenes. Noraneko - This VN has more comedy than serious story, in which the comedy may be more dominant compared to the story (Well the writer did participate in Majikoi). It has overseas release, although too bad that Harukaze decided to rebranded themselves as TOKYOTOON that will be going to produces all age VNs. Actually it shouldn't be much problem of they did rebrand, but instead the problem is they decided to going for all age in all of their product including Nekopara overseas release and you see that it mean that it won't have sex scenes. Granted that I may skip the scenes, but it would be better for them to provided the scenes instead of cutting it in order to provide the choice tl the reader. Oh yes it also has restoration project, although it's still ongoing as of now. Wagahigh - I admit that back then I thought it as a nukige because all of the heroines have big breasts (Especislly Mihiro), but turned out I was wrong because it's more like charage with the focus on how the MC (Kouki) will find on what he want to dk together with the heroines. Granted that it might be not the most original story (Outside the premise in that Kouki himself is a mangaka with one of the heroines is the artist for the manga), but at least it's popular enough so much that it has the fandisc. Sekai also did localize this, and of course you can read the translated sex scenes unlike Noraneko. That's all for my comment on February 2016 releases.
  22. Tokyo Necro - What a thought provoking VN, although in this case my thought is more like 'when we'll going to have this in English?'. In here we'll going to have male and female MC, and as for the female MC we'll going to have some GL romance. The setting is like we'll going to have future Tokyo infested in zombie, and obviously our two MC need to fight a lot so you better expect Tokyo Necro as VN with action/battle scenes. The closest comparison for this would be Carnevale though considering that one of the writer also write that VN, although it's possible that the writer already improved the writing in Tokyo Necro. Iwaihime - Somewhat underrated VN that was written by Ryukishi07 and localized by Shiravune, although the reason for the underrated rating here might be because they expect too much of Ryuukishi when he didn't have much freedom considering that the director is not him along with the story may come off as episodic. It didn't help though that the MC may came off as too perfect, or if we borrow the late Conjueror word 'feels more like a plot device than a character'. That said, Iwaihime is still a nice VN if you're in need of some horror VN that developed the characters, just so as long as you didn't expect another Higurashi or Umineko. Seabed - A GL VN that has quite well received, and in this case it's quite justified because it has 28 years old office lady as the MC (Sachiko). Other than the main MC, we also has the lover of the MC (Takako) along with the physiatrist that handle Sachiko's mental health (Narusaki) so we'll have three MCs. The premise is more or less we'll going to have Sachiko that need to deal with Takako's disappearance, and from there we'll following her attempt to remember her past up to the disappearance of Takako. While ultimately it's interesting VN on it's own, I understand if this VN is not for everyone because it can be boring in the middle of the VN. We already have this translated thanks to Fruitbat Factory, so you can read this in English. That's all for my comment in regard of January 2016 releases.
  23. Grisaia no Zankou - Another Frontwing attempt to milk Grisaia. Narcissu Sumire - Narcissu featuring a new heroine Sumire, and that the developer does away male MC from what I see. Raging Loop - The VN that was localized back at October 2019 featured the MC playing a deadly Werewolf game, and in this case the MC also need with some time loop mess so the MC need to use his intellect to figure out who's the Werewolf in one of the game and possibly try to find a hint for his survival. Considering that the release was quite sudden and that the company is not quite well known to make VN (They make several RPG with SNES graphic though), Raging Loop here is quite well received from what I see at the average score on VNDB. Steins Gate 0 - While MAGES promote this as sequel, story wise it's more like a midquel in which the story was focused in the middle of Okarin search for a solution of his predicament. Also unlike DaSH which to say is not quite a nice addition to Science Adventure series because it has forced crossover, 0 here is nice even though technically it's not really needed and that it fall under the same category as DaSH in which it's a way for MAGES to milk Steins Gate further (Which make sense considering that Steins Gate is their most popular game). The reason why I say nice (Other than it didn't have forced crossover) is because we can see some interesting character interaction, especially in regard of Suzuha. So in the end I suppose I can say that 0 here is good addition to anyone else who want to read more of Steins Gate, and it's available in English too. Miagete - It would be a nice charage to read because it's available in English, except for the fact that Pulltop decided to release it by themselves in English and you know that they'll try their hardest to appeal their 12 years old French girl market (ie censored) which sadly some company did inspired by them and decided to follow Pulltop's way (GIGA, Harukaze, and now Laplacian). Well as long as you didn't mind about the censorship, it's still a nice read with the good graphic and the story that resemble Konosora. It also has the project to uncensor 18+ contents in the past, although unfortunately the project folded because the lack of the translator for the sex scenes. Also while Pulltop did try their best to promote Hikari as the main heroine, story wise Saya here is more dominant the story so Pulltop sort of failed to promote Hikari as the main heroine. That's all for what I can comment in regard of December 2015 releases,
  24. Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and as for the title I'll tell it at PS later. As for this week, we didn't have much updates although in exchange we have new VNs announcement along with some releases so overall I can say that this week is still interesting to a degree thanks to the announcements even though it's not as active as last week. Let's see what I can write in regard of this week VNTS Review. Sekai did released Slobbish Dragon Princess FD yesterday, and what I can say is that at least the graphic is quite good I suppose. Anyway go play the FD if you like the main game and want to see more of it, and have fun. We also have Shiravune did suddenly released Suzukuri Karin-chan at Johren, although unfortunately it's only at Johren so it mean that you need to deal with the bothersome DRM (Denuvo) but at least this time it has activation code for anyone who purchase it from there so it should be easier to activated. Other thing that I know in regard of this is that it's the collaborative project between Softhouse Chara and Nexton with the former provided the gameplay engine and the latter provided Koihime Musou characters, or in easier word the premise is like Bunny Black only that we have Koihime Musou MC instead of Darx. Go get the VN if you want more of Softhouse Chara gameplay VN, and have fun. Oh yes it also has fan translation, although seeing that the translator asking for money for fan translation which to say is quite rude I'll say good for Shiravune that they took over Suzukuri Karin-chan even with DRM there. From fan translation we have Eustia was at 91.52% TLC-ed with Licia's chapter was at 54.94% TLC-ed, Loverable has surprise update with the current progress was at 96.13% edited, and we have Rewrite Cradle Tale translation patch released (It's Rewrite Terra route epilogue, so you can get it if you want to see a bit more of Rewrite (It's quite short) there). From Alka they announced two new projects with one of those is Clearworld in that it's quite an underrated VN that was written by one of Science Adventure writer who also write (Infamous) DaSH, and that it's science fiction VN with the setting is at the city in the sea. The second new project is bigger one in that it's Aonatsu Line which it's GIGA's attempt to go back to normal moege after they've been writing Baldr series, and the premise is we have a group of friend who want to do some memorable activities for summer. Good that Alka did picked up Aonatsu Line there, because I can see that GIGA will forcefully censored the official localized version like Pulltop. Anyway good luck on Alka in regard of their new project, especially Aonatsu there (I'll note the progress when they have it later). JAST did announce that they'll release Onigokko at 29th later, and as we know it's Alcot VN with the setting that the heroines are the descendant of Japanese folktale hero with the MC is the phantom thief who's about to search for his impostor. It also prove that Alcot is quite flexible seeing that they have partnership with Nekonyan in regard of Clover Days localization, but then again it's more like Alcot back to JAST seeing that both of them did work together for My GF is President aka Osadai. In any case, this mean that Onigokko here will be the third translated Alcot VNs after Osadai and Shinikiss. Also since I did hear the good reception in regard of Onikiss, I'll look forward to the release later. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week. PS - Since we have Onigokko release date announcement by JAST and that it featured the phantom thief as the MC, I parodied the old magical girl manga Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne in that the MC (Maron) was act as the phantom thief in order to fight the demon, and I changed Jeanne into Ura from the Onigokko MC alias (Kaitou Ura) so we have 'Kamikaze Kaitou Ura' as this week VNTS Review title. Note that while usually we think that kamikaze mean suicide thanks to Japanese Special Attack Units at World War 2, actually in Japan it mean 'divine wind' and Jeanne full Japanese title here is literally translated as 'Divine Wind Phantom Thief Jeanne'. Also yes it has Joan of Arc element as well in that Maron is the reincarnation of Joan of Arc.
  25. Hatsumira - Written by Grisaia main writer and apparently Frontwing did plan to localize this, although there's no much word in regard of the plan until now. It has isekai setting and that it has non-human heroine, and what I can say is that I think it's interesting to see if Frontwing manage to release the localized version of this. Haru Uso - First part of Uso tetralogy that was written by Campus in which it's subsidiary of light, and ironically this tetralogy didn't have chuunige element like Nine which is doubly ironic if we know what kind of VN that light keep produced before they bankrupted. Schwarzesmarken - Poor age in that they still can't extend their setting outside mecha and post apocalypse world, although then again one may say that it's good for them if they want to see more of it. Well I suppose they've drain too much money for Muv Luv production seeing that now they chose to re-release their old VNs instead of creating a new one, and Schwarzermarken here is their last original VNs that was produced by them (Sort of). Oh yes it has anime as well, so at least you can enjoy the story of this even though the VN is still untranslated. Maggot Bait - I see a screenshot and the comment is that the prose is resemble Dies Irae, so at least you can play this if you want Dies Irae alike VN (The full English opening song along with Silverio writer here would surely make this VN has potential to be good chuunige). Although there's a catch though, namely that it has disturbing sex scenes and some said that the sex scenes are even worse compared to euphoria (With the sex scenes that are already infamous enough). Granted that outside of disturbing sex it also has some good development for the MC, but in the end this is one VN that I can't freely suggested to Dies Irae fans. Oh well, at least Mangagamer already localized the VN so you can play in English if you want. That's all for my comments in regard of November 2015 releases.
