Very late to comment here, but better late than never. Muv Luv Unlimited The Day After - It has nice graphic at the very least, although it still didn't change my mind that it's more or less just a way for age to milking Muv Luv franchise anyway. Oh and that the first two parts are redundant as well because we already have it translated. Nice dedication that some member here willing to make uncensored patch for Steam release I suppose, so that anyone who play this VN can enjoy the risky graphic. Miotsukushi PS2 patch - The newest release in regard of Higurashi console arc, and it's the alternative ending of Higurashi that was created for PS2 version. Anyway I would say that it's should be good read to anyone else who disappointed that Gou was turned out to be the sequel of Matsuribayashi and Gou itself has some problematic story thanks for the anime itself is tried to tied it with Umineko in cost of have some questionable decision in regard of a certain character, because Miotsukushi here is pretty much final when it come to the conclusion for all of Higurashi story (When it come to the main casts at the very least) so you can treat it as the new canon ending. It also help that the opening song of Miotsukushi PS2 is very good. Eiyuu Senki GOLD - In the past I sort of look forward to it, although now that there's a lot of interesting new VNs turned out that it's not as good as I thought, at least in regard of the story (Compared to the original). Still if you like the gameplay, you can still try GOLD here and have fun. Also good for TENCO in that they add the Heroic Skill to all of the characters in that at the original VN there's several character who didn't get the Heroic Skill. Rance Quest - To be blunt after I read the spoiler of X I didn't felt the hype toward the series anymore, although to be fair it's my fault for reading the spoiler. Still if you like some grinding and fighting then you can get Rance Quest here and have fun, doubly so if you've been like Rance ever since Sengoku Rance was translated at 2009. By the way it took nine years for Rance Quest to finally localized and released by Mangagamer. Speaking of Alicesoft, too bad that their Evenicle 2 was banned from Steam so hopefully they'll find a way to get around of it in regard of releasing Evenicle 2 in English. Wizard's Climber - Despite this VN did have some gameplay that need the guide to fully understand it along with that the fight is hard and the characters was AI controlled, ironically out of three gameplay VNs releases in February this one is the most interesting to me if only because I can learnt some new gameplay. It should be noted that the gameplay here is basically the same as Princess Maker, although obviously it has the fighting and the reason is that you'll teach the girl some magic because she was expelled from the magic school thanks to her lack of magic. There's some rough sex scenes that may look uncomfortable, although it's not as rough as Bunny Black with Darx. Lastly this is the VN that was released by Softhouse Chara way back at 2008, so understandably the graphic here is looks quite dated to a degree. Well I guess that's all for my comment in regard of February, and while there's many gameplay VNs releases the only release that was interesting to me here is Wizard's Climber. Not to mention that there's also Amayui almost complete translation patch in that it translate all of the narration expect the sex scenes (And currently the sex scenes was in progress of translating work), so yeah my focus here is on Amayui when it come to gameplay VN (For now). Note that I still look forward to Evenicle 2 here, so I felt that it was too bad that Steam banned it.

VN of the Month July 2012 - Tiny Dungeon ~Brave or Slave~
littleshogun commented on kivandopulus's blog entry in Vndbreview
Some of all age VN I see, and let's see what I can comment in regard of this month. Guilty Crown VN - It has Indonesian translation at first, and after some times there's English translation of this. Other than that and it's Guilty Crown VN (As far as I remember Guilty Crown here is the original anime instead of the adaptation here), no much that I can say in regard of this. Super Dangan Ronpa 2 - If the plot in the first game is fairly simple, then in the sequel the plot here is definitely going to be more over the top so much that it become quite complicated if not overblown. Of course the setting (15 ultimate students will engage in the killing game) and the gameplay would still over the top, only that instead of trapped in the school the place is in the tropical island when the students must do the same killing game like in the prequel in order to survive. From VNDB score alone, I can say that this game here is better received compared to the first one. Persona 4 Fighting - Well since it's on VNDB I can give some comment on Persona 4 and ATLUS as well. Back when I help my sister beat it at 2009 (She did play it on normal mode for the first playthrough and easy mode for the subsequent playthrough), I thought that the ending is nice and it would be good to see them again. Turned out that so many player did hope the same thing and ATLUS just have their brand become a part of the company that has some financial difficulty or something like that, so obviously ATLUS need some easy way to gain some money and thus Persona 4 was chosen to be the subject of milking by ATLUS. As for what I can say, I guess my feeling would be complicated because I felt that it's not quite right to milking Persona 4 here even though the company understandably need the money, but I know that ATLUS did work on the fighting game part seriously by asking Arc System Work (The company behind Guilty Gear and Blazblue), so that as long as you ignore that ATLUS basically milking Persona 4 it still a nice fighting game if you like Persona 4. Tokeijikake - Sekai did release this with bug way back at 2017, and apparently they keep fixed the bug ever since. Sekai also promised that they'll release the sequels quickly on this, although they still need to deal with procedure and that Sekai has been buried with many other announcements so understandably they need to put the trilogy here as the least priority (I still didn't like the long wait here though). Anyway the first part here has Michiru attend the magic school and along the way he find a girl (Ushio) who's her ego was as fragile as glass, and from there both of Ushio and Michiru relationship has rocky start. Of course since this is the first part, there'll be more reveal in the rest of the trilogy. Oh yes this VN was also translated by Kohaku Translation back after they're finished with Shinikiss, although I didn't pay much attention to it because it's the first part of serial VN (Trilogy at that). Rewrite Harvest Festa - Ixrec did work on this after Comyu for a while, although since Sekai did buy the license of Clannad (Both Rewrite and Clannad are developed by KEY) he decided to stopped this and thus there's no more progress from him along with cemented Comyu as Amaterasu's last release. Obviously Sekai did get this along with the so-called updated version of main VN (Harvest Festa here is Rewrite's fandisc for the reminder), so we need to wait for a while for them to releasing this. As for now, the release plan is at Q2 2021 although looking from the lack of update I doubt that they'll manage to fulfill this. Anyway as per fandisc goes, obviously there'll be some fanservice (Still not included sex scenes by the way) and that there'll be after stories for the heroines, along with Kagari's route in which apparently is the main attraction of the FD here. Forgot to say that there's RPG gameplay in there as well, which could be interesting if you want to play some RPG with Rewrite characters. That's all for what I can comment in regard of July 2012 releases here. -
Welcome to my very belated VNTS Review, and as for the title I'll explain the title at PS later. As for this week, well there's quite a bunch of releases with the biggest one was Nine Episode 4. Other than that, there's also some updates as well with some of those are interesting to a degree. So overall I can say that it's been the biggest week that we have at this year, and let's see what I can write in regard of this week as well. Shiravune did release Megasuki in which it gather some controversy along with some sex scenes between the childhood friend who is a member of track club and like to wear glasses. The controversy in question is that Shiravune did release this with Denuvo, which to say that was quite infamous in that it even cause the one who get it legally complained on how it slow down the game performance along with on how they need to connect to the internet all the time. Granted that it might be help to combat the piracy, although using this on short VN seems to be quite overblown and not quite worth the effort. In any case, I can only say that hopefully this is the first and the last time that Denuvo was used in translated VN release. From Fakku we have Perverse Incentives release at today in that apparently has some loli and interesting idea, although I don't exactly know on how much the contents in the VN itself though. Anyway go get the VN if you somehow interested with it, and have fun. We also have HarmonEy release, and I only know that it's from same company as Tenkiame localization company so perhaps you may keep that in mind because apparently it has some bad translation. That said, if you want to see some slice of life between wife and husband that didn't have much drama, go get the VN and have fun. There's also a nukige from Cherry Kiss and once again it has unique localized name (My Married Cousin's Need for Seed), and apparently it has some sex between cousin because the MC was forced by his family to impregnate his cousin although the MC didn't really mind of it because he's been in love with the cousin and that he's been jealous when said cousin was married and have sex with her husband (So you'll have NTR cousin nukige). Not that it's interesting to me here, but if you interested with it then you can wait until it's released at April 2nd later. Turned out that Laplacian did ask JAST help for their licensing, because we have their nukige was released by JAST back at 19th. The premise is that we'll going to have the husband tried to satisfy his wife who said as the most horny wife in the world with punny name (Kouguchi Rinko or if you prefer localized name Rikky Horne). Go get the nukige if you interested with it, and have fun. Speaking of Laplacian, turned out that there's a plan to localized their newest VN (And perhaps their Magnum Opus) Aojashin in which currently the translation of it is still ongoing and that there's a plan to release it in both of Englsh and Chinese language along with Steam release as well (The writer's tweet for the proof). No idea on who's the one who handle the localization here, but looking from their recent nukige release JAST seems to be quite possible although as far as I know JAST almost never release their VN on Chinese language though (Or perhaps they change their policy, although it's still too early to tell). Anyway I'll look forward in regard of Aojashin translation progress in the future. As for this week fan translation, we have Eustia was at 84.42% TLC-ed with Licia's chapter was at 45.27% TLC-ed and side stories was at 65.73% TLC-ed, 21,131 lines from Pure x Connect was translated along with 12,835 lines of it was edited, and Hokejo was at 28.2% translated. There's also Kirikoi KS in which currently it's been at 81,262 euro funded which mean it already exceeded the requirement for Golden Time license in which it's at 75,000 euro funded. That said, in regard of Golden Time I still waiting for the announcement from Nekonyan in regard of that. We also have their 3rd secret project was already approved by Valve which mean it's almost ready for the release, although whether the project in question is a big one or not we must wait until Nekonyan reveal it later. It's good to see that Sekai finally release Koiama 2 with English language support after they'd release it with Chinese language only. Other than Sekai did release this without English language first, what I can say is that the atmosphere and the character design itself is resemble Gochiusa, so you can get it if you want to read something like Gochiusa (With the addition sex scenes because Gochiusa here didn't have sex scenes for obvious reason) and have fun. Lastly we have Sekai released Nine Episode 4 in which it's the finale of Nine tetralogy, and of course you can get it if you've been holding back in order to play the finale of Nine here. The premise here is that our MC Kakeru finally manage to find out the one who responsible for the petrification in the town, and in order to face the culprit Kakeru did enlist Noa's help along with some other heroines. Of course other than final battle, there'll be some romance as well and in this case Kakeru will have some romance with Noa. Go get Nine Episode 4 from Sekai, and have fun. Oh yes Palette did announce that they'll release new episode at April later, although it's more or less just after stories for Nine heroines though which is more like fandisc to a degree. That's all for this week VNTS Review, and once again sorry for being late here. See you next week. PS - Since we have Nine Episode 4 release, once again I make the VA joke for this week VNTS Review by changing 'Yuki' to 'Izumi' so we have '9 -Nine- Episode 4: Izumi Noa' here (The title for Nine Episode 4 is '9 -Nine- Episode 4: Noa Yuki). The VA joke here is from Izumi in which it's the family name of Sagiri of Eromanga-sensei (Same author as Oreimo by the way) who has same VA as Noa (Fujita Akane). For the info, there's also anime character called Izumi Noa from the old anime Patlabor, although the kanji writing for both Noa are different.

VN of the Month June 2012 - Gurenka
littleshogun commented on kivandopulus's blog entry in Vndbreview
Root Double - Unlike Code18, Gundam Ace really like this VN so much that he include it as one of his favorite VN alongside Ever17, Steins Gate, I/O, and Fate back at 2012. Of course back then I was look forward to this being translated, and thus Sekai did offer a helping hand to Gundam Ace in which they did perform the KS to get the necessary fund (At 135,000) in order to get localization ongoing. Other than some delay, there's no much fuss happened until this was released back at April 28th, 2016. Anyway the premise is like 999, except that it involve escaping from the nuclear power plan that was about to be exploded and that they only have limited item that was supposed to prevent the radiation, and just like Ever17 there's much more than it looks at the frst glance. Oh yes Gundam Ace also said that it looks like Root Double here is Nakazawa's answer to 999 in that it's his former partner (Uchikoshi's) work, in which there's a lot of nine as the arc number here (The particular ones are nine characters and nine enneagrams). Astraythem - I see some review that said that this is a nice VN (Especially Joyjason's), so I decided to add this VN as suggestion to Mangagamer at this year survey (Not that I expect them to localize this anyway). That aside, my first impression is that the MC looks like quite a siscon for loving his older sister there, although apparently there's more than it seems. Another thing to note that the graphics is quite nice looking and that the company behind it (Chuablesoft) was already bankrupt, but it's not like it's impossible to localize if we look at Haretaka although with some extra steps. Aorio - It's nice to see that the graphic here is like anime graphic, although apparently there's no other thing to note other than it's charage/moege VN with some comedy and that the MC is joining the theater club. Robotic Notes - Poor this VN in that even the staffs didn't believe that this VN can stand of it's own so much that they add Divergence which as we know it's Steins Gate trademark, and as if it's not enough the staffs also ask Daru who's more or less is just perverted best friend character to be one of the MC in the fandisc sequel. The staffs lack of confidence aside, Robotic Notes here is lighter than either Steins Gate or Chaos Head in that we'll just have students building giant robot while at the same time fighting the hidden menace (As per Science Adventure Series). This VN was already localized as well in that they used Elite version, which contain the script improvement unlike Steins Gate Elite in that it's just the staffs milking it with the anime graphic and there's no new content if I remember. Overall I can say that Robotic Notes can be enjoyable, as long as you didn't expect another Steins Gate just like the staffs hoping by trying to baiting Steins Gate fans into expecting the fans to have another Steins Gate. Evangile FD - Kure decided to add Ruriko's route after he teased it in the main VN, along with other side girls routes as well. Of course as per fandisc, the girls here would dress with the the least material in order to save the cost because Masaya is quite poor. That aside, just like any fandisc there's some nice moment and of course there's after stories for the four heroines in the main VN as well. Oh yes we also have Mangagamer localized this back at 2017, and back then Fuwanovel forum was down for three weeks at around the time of the release. HatsuKoi - The first translated VN (Out of three) by Tsurezure, and back then they're quite fast completing it. Also this is the first tone work's VNs, in that it's pretty clear with Yuuma here is quite infamous at two routes along with some drama so much that the staffs need to apologize formally. That aside, at least this should be a nice charage if you just need something to read, although beware though that it's quite long here. Oh yes the heroines design here are quite nice, along with that they hire some well known VNs and that it has several nice songs with some of those are the insert songs in the heroines routes. Of course tone work's took the criticism in regard of Yuuma and this VN seriously, and as the result we have Hoshiori which to say the opposite of HatsuKoi to a degree. Quite a busy month to a degree here, and so that's all for what I can comment in regard of June 2012. -
Good to see that finally Sekai release English version of Koiama 2, and I hope that they didn't release their VNs in Chinese language first if possible. I also agree that Koiama 2 here is like Gochiusa like some people said, although of course it has male MC along with sex scenes for the most obvious differences.
-
What I know is that Ryuusei here has Open Ending and if you didn't like open ending perhaps it would be better to avoid this. That said, I don't exactly know whether you'll like the ending or not, but at least I can say that it's more or less like that the heroines route was rushed along with didn't resolve their main problem and the common routes here is written nicely. So as long as you didn't mind that the ending will be rushed and just want to read the common route, it should be a good read here. As for the sequel, I sort of hope that finally we can have new writer only to be turned out that Kinugasa was still in charge of this (Well guess I ask too much since obviously new writer won't be able to take over Kinugasa's setting writing easily). Anyway looking from on how people did comment on Akagoei 3, I sort of expect that he'll end Ryuusei's sequel in open ending style as well and thus it would be better to not expect much closure from the sequel. At least we'll going to have Fuyumi become the heroine if anything else, although it looks like Kinugasa would write the the story of our heroine only to be not able to conclude it after several hours of brainstorming. So yeah my expectation for the sequel here is pretty much mild, doubly so with most likely Shiravune would take care of this and their recent release was handled badly because of Denuvo usage.

Welcome to Fuwanovel and sorry for the belated greeting. If you need some VN Recommendations, feel free to ask. I hope that you'll have fun here.

VN of the Month May 2012 - Kono Oozora ni, Tsubasa o Hirogete
littleshogun commented on kivandopulus's blog entry in Vndbreview
Looks like a breather month here, so let's see what I can comment in regard of May 2012. Supipara - minori ambitious project in that they attempted to make five parts VNs with no sex scenes, which to say may be quite hard considering that they spent almost all of the resource that they had (Also apparently the animation in the opening did eat a lot of expenses or something like that) in order to make this VN. The result is obviously an incomplete VN which may as well stay as incomplete seeing that the plan is to have Mangagamer's sales boost to fund Supipara development and yet that plan is failed seeing that minori was inactive even before they reach the funding for 3rd part of Supipara, which is a shame because I can see that minori already has a lot of plan in regard of Supipara here. Oh yes, after Supipara failure minori decided to inflated the chest size of their heroines after they tried to comeback thanks to a mysterious donator who donate minori. Konosora - The de facto Pulltop 10th anniversary VN (At least that's what I think), and it's the second VN that Pulltop localize after Princess Waltz. And this time Pulltop did try to localize it by themselves instead of asking help, which cause no small controversy. Namely that Pulltop decide to cut all of the sex contents along with censoring the sexual joke and bad translation, and obviously fans were mad. Since then, some fans did develop the uncensored patch along with fixed the translation, and it took five years to develop uncensor patch. In regard of censorship, I know that some people would appreciate what Pulltop did. But I prefer to be able to skip the sex scenes and knowing that the scenes is translated rather than didn't be able to read it in the first place, so yeah Pulltop is a bit stubborn in regard of censorship and thus didn't give the people choice to read the translated sex scenens or not. Anyway at least nowadays Pulltop was slightly better by released two all age VNs, although they need years to finally do that though. That's all for what I can comment in regard of May 2012. -
Welcome to Fuwanovel, and if you need what kind of VN Recommendations that you want to read feel free to ask here. Also compared to 2016, there's a lot of the title that back then it's thought to be never translated got the translation (ie Aokana, Sakuramori, Carnevale, and Daitoshokan). I hope that you'll have fun here.

Ah 11eyes anime, the adaptation where the director (Or the writer) depict Yuka worse than she was in the anime adaptation for some reason (I can only guess that it's because the director didn't like Yuka as much as Misuzu). Well at least no more anime adaptation were worse than Tsui no Sora OVA, and that extend to Shuffle in which the director did probably didn't like Kaede because her personality was very different in the anime compared to the VN.

Mangagamer 2021 Licensing Survey
littleshogun replied to Formlose Gestalt's topic in Visual Novel Talk
The survey was ended back at 16th, and as for the VNs that I want to be translated I decided to suggest Astraythem (I know that Chuablesoft was already bankrupt, but it's not like it's impossible for Mangagamer to get the license from one of their VN), Beat Valkyrie IxSeal (I like to see the combination of Beat series gameplay, magical girl, and Seven Deadly Sins), and Sakura no Mori 2 (So that we can see on how Kure did write a heroine route that he didn't write in the prequel (Even though it's reasonable that there's no route for that heroine) just like he did write Ruriko back at Evangile). Not that I expect them to do the license for those anyway, but it would be nice if I can see the license of those three. -
Considering that back at 2014 'Miyako 85% translated' has already become the meme and that I didn't like the meme of 'Unlimited Miyako Works' back at VNTL site (Yes we used to have that back then), I would say that the fan translator did the wise choice by just directly translating the untranslated parts and didn't work on the rest. If anything, at least this way the translator can satisfy whoever been waiting for this to be fully translated ever since at 2009 and then the team can do whatever what they want to do with the scripts (Either reworking on it and re-released the patch later, or ask JAST to work together (Which should be easy seeing that Peter Payne already show some interest to do this back at VNDB) and obviously reworking on it). Anyway I guess as long as people fine with both translation it should be okay to either play the fan translated version or JAST version, and at least the latter is consistent when it come to the naming (Not that it change my mind that JAST release itself is redundant anyway).
-
While I understand the reason on why people didn't like Grisaia anime, actually it's reasonable adaptation if we look at on how Frontwing develop the trilogy. The reason is simple, in that at the original VN we never see the linear route on how Yuuji save all of the girls at once and while the anime itself solve that particular plot hole. So as long as you didn't mind on how the anime itself didn't adapt enough scene and that the heroines episodes are goes too quickly, I can say that Kajitsu anime here is fine adaptation to a degree. Of course I can see that most people said that the VN is better, although format wise it would be no better since Frontwing did develop Kajitsu as charage and yet they want to write the trilogy as linear VNs so the format between Kajitsu and the rest of the trilogy was clashed. In any case, at least nowadays the adaptation anime of Visual Novels standard here did improved a lot, especially compared to Tsui no Sora that I said above in that they even manage to get the plot wrong such as Takuji is the one who rape Zakuro instead of a thug. Granted that Tsui no Sora OVA here is just a hentai anime, but I know that they can do better so no excuse to make wrong story there.

How to Live a Healthy Noble Lifestyle Review
littleshogun posted a blog entry in Pretty Cure on Fuwanovel
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and as for the title since we have Kirikoi trial release along with Hentai Lifestyle release I decided to parodied the latter full title so we have 'How to Live a Healthy Noble Lifestyle' for the title with the 'Noble' word is from the school name in Kirikoi (Noble Private Academy, in which now I'm quite certain that the writer did took GPPC school name seeing that both schools in Kirikoi and GPPC were called 'Noble Gakuen' in Japan). As for this week, I can say that it's very interesting seeing that we have Kirikoi trial release along with several nice announcements from the companies. So yeah I can say that this week is quite exciting if only for the announcements, and let's see what I can write in regard of this week. Once again Verdellish did deliver steady progress on Slow Damage, and this time we have her translate 83% of it. We also have the update from JAST, in that turned out that they already have a plan to release Dramatical Murder at early April after a delay. While usually we should be wary, seeing that recently JAST like to announce their estimation release when the release time is near I supposed that we should see Dramatical Murder release at April beginning later. Not that it change my mind on that the release is a redundant one anyway, but at least there'll be another way to get Dramatical Murder if you prefer to get it legally. As for fan translation updates, this week we have the original lines of Summer Pockets was at 66.4% reworked and Eustia was at 83.23% TLC-ed with side stories was at 59.53% TLC-ed. While the KS for Kirikoi is still ongoing, Nekonyan decided to announce the FD of it (Golden Time). Before they announced Golden Time they released the trial of the main VN in which it contain the whole common route (At 10,000 lines), and the reason for the trial release is because the feedback that they got in Aokana KS in that some backers said that they didn't know the heroines enough. So in case you want to see the heroines, go get the trial from either Steam or Denpasoft and see if you like to play the characters route or not. For Golden Time, like the post said they'll license it if they gather 75,000 euro so we need to wait for a while before Nekonyan acquired the license of it (For the info, currently the gathered fund was at 68,052 euro). As for Golden Time, I would say that it's interesting on it's own because you can see the alternative ending of Kirikoi so good luck to Nekonyan in regard of funding. As for Mangagamer's release (Hentai Lifestyle), it's just a nukige with the premise the MC who manage to live together with a family with the matriarch herself is a hero who stopped World War 3 through sex diplomacy. I can only say that you can get the VN if you interested with it and like the art as well, and have fun. Since Mangagamer did release a VN, naturally they'll announce the exact date for next release but before going to the release let's reveal that Mangagamer did reveal their 9th secret project. The project in question is Chinese Japanese VN with the name Christmas Tina in which it'll depict the story of the encounter of two people from two different countries (Male MC from China and his female companion from Japan), and that it's written by Narcissu's writer. No much that I know other than it's quite well received, and that it's at 69% translated and edited. As for the next release, it's a big one in which they'll release Musicus (Overdrive's Swan Song) at April 8th. It also available on Steam as well, although only at AO section though because Mangagamer need some compromise so that they can add Musicus on Steam. Go note the date if you want to get Musicus there. We have Island Diary trial release along with the QA progress of it was at 60%, although whether they'll delay the release (Apparently it's still at 19th later) in order to focusing on the QA or not is still unknown. Speaking about release, we also have them planning the release for ReLord 2 and that they'll release Koiama 2 with English language support today (As of now there's still no English language support yet). Lastly as for the big announcement from Sekai we'll have Nine Episode 4 exact release date at 19th later, so you can note the date if you've been holding back to play Nine series because you've waiting for the finale part of it (Episode 4 here is supposed to be the finale of Nine series) to be translated. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week VNTS Review, and see you next week. -
I won't call myself jock, but now that you mention it KEY VNs surely featuring some sports with the most dominant one is baseball. And it's also show in the works that was created by Jun Maeda, in that there're baseball episodes in both of Charlotte and Angel Beats (It should be obvious that those two anime series were written by Jun Maeda). Note that while there's no baseball in Summer Pockets, there's still sport in there (Table tennis) in that it's integrated into the mini game.

VN of the Month April 2012 - Kouyoku no Soleil -vii’s World-
littleshogun commented on kivandopulus's blog entry in Vndbreview
Quite a lot to discuss at this month just like mod Clephas said, so let's try to talk about this one by one. Mahoyo - The only new Type Moon VN that they manage to write before they decide to pour all of their resources into FGO, and there'll be two more sequels of this which as of now would be impossible to make if only they currently put the focus on FGO and Tsukihime remake. That aside, Mahoyo here has some very good special effect which is more than make up for the lack of the voice. The premise is that we'll going to have Aoko (Shiki's teacher in Tsukihime) who somehow get her male schoolmate who definitely not created as the stand in for male MC because usually this type of VNs have male MC joined her magic study with her eccentric teacher, and from there the trio will experience some strange occurrence which one way or another will involve the fight. As for the translation, there's several failed attempt to translate this in the past so much that we have French version comes first, and currently there's a group with steady progress which apparently almost done from what I see from the progress. Ciel Nosurge - The first part of the duology Nosurge in that Nosurge itself is the prequel of Ar Tonelico. Currently we didn't have this localized because somehow Gust didn't want to have this in English and yet they localized the sequel (Probably because they still adjust the stuffs back when they just finish the merger with Koei Tecmo), and that currently we have Steam version of Nosurge duology (Japanese only). No idea if Gust will released English version of it, but I can say that I'll look forward to the English version of this if possible. Oh yes as per Ar Tonelico here, obviously we'll have the song magic which was activated by singing and there'll a lot of nice vocal song here. Da Capo 3 - This VN had some history with Fuwanovel and Aaeru here, and let's leave it at that. The premise is like we have Kiyotaka who somehow together with his five female friends (ie the heroines) manage to see the everlasting sakura tree was alive at 2072 which is unusual because the tree itself was already dead in the previous Da Capo event. While at first you may think that 2072 here will be the main part of the VN, actually in here we'll going to London Magic Academy in 1951 and from there we'll follow Kiyotaka studying magic while at the same time try to have a romance with one of five heroines. It's been localized by Mangagamer back at 2017, and that the real prologue is hidden in the first extra story while the Prologue section here is merely the opening part from 2072 in that it's unrelated to 1951 stories for majority of the VN. Harukuru - The nukige that show us on how four girls and male will have sex for fifteen times straight. Or not because after the nukige like prologue suddenly the situation turned serious and it's up to the MC to find out what's wrong with his situation. It's quite a mix indeed, although in case you play this only for nukige then you'll be confused with the science explanation and then you'll find out that there'll be only two sex scenes per heroines after the prologue. Sekai did localize this, although until now they waiting the engine work from the company which mean more waiting for us. Monobeno - After I see the outfit entry on the heroines along with Maitetsu, I can say that the character designer like to design several outfits for the main heroine which automatically mean that the sprites have a lot of production value. Other things to note is that it have several singer to sing the songs along with there're many loli like characters, in which the latter may cause some uncomfortable situation so much that the developer (Lose) did censor the panty shot for the oversea release of Maitetsu (Which compared to what Pulltop did the censorship is not that bad because we still have the sex scenes translated in Maitetsu). The premise here is we have the MC who come back to his hometown and he find out that his little sister somehow has strange condition, and from there the MC did his best to find the way to solve the problem in that it might be caused by the curse. There's also Happy End release later in which it seems to be the complete version of Monobeno here just like what Lose did later with Maitetsu Last Run. Soukoku no Arterial - I did play this as soon as narration patch was released because I like the card battle gameplay in there, and turned out that the translation is very bad because the sentences aren't arranged properly along with there's so many untranslated words that I heard in the spoken lines alone and therefore it's a mess to read (I still manage to finished Human route here). Back to the game, and as for the VN with card battle this is the best one because the rule of it is quite complex in that it's resembled Yu-Gi-Oh to a degree with card effect and equipment (Although Yu-Gi-Oh is more complex though). Someday I want to see proper narration patch of this, although looks like no one interested to do this as of now. Venus Blood Frontier - If what mod Clephas said is true, looks like we lucky that we got both of best (Hypno) and second best (Frontier) of Venus Blood VNs being translated and right now we already have Frontier released. From what I gather, looks like it's the first time when Dual Tail started to add passive abilities so you need to think more in regard of abilities compared to previous Venus Blood. As for the story, it has Norse mythology with Loki as our MC try to fight his unfortunate situation by searching a certain item in order to get accepted by his grandfather who Loki loathed so much. In here Loki can also corrupt the goddesses that he recruited, so if you like the corruption then you can play this although you can also keep the goddess uncorrupted. Lastly you can also chose between to have sex scenes and no sex scenes if you play translated version, so good for the writer in that they did work hard to improved Frontier for overseas version and I believe they'll do the same effort with Hypno localization effort as well. That's all for what I can comment in regard of April 2012 releases. -
VN of the Month March 2012 - '&' - Sora no Mukou de Sakimasu you ni -
littleshogun commented on kivandopulus's blog entry in Vndbreview
& - Strange title aside, the opening was sung by Kanako Ito in which it's quite nice to hear. Material Brave - Less knows VNs from GIGA that was overshadowed by Baldr Sky Dive, but then again all of their VNs after Baldr Sky didn't reach the fame of it. Well at least the fans won't mind if GIGA didn't want to localized it, mostly because we already get Baldr Sky Dive translated and that GIGA prefer to censor their overseas release just like Pulltop. Dracu Riot - It did have crossover video with Hatsutyuki Sakura, and that Sekai did localize it before Nekonyan did took over the license. Before that it's translated by Insem in which he did hold the 80% translated patch for 31 months before released it at April 2016, and since Miu's route is still untranslated of course a team did continue to translate it. Six months after 80% patch released, there's a leaked path with fully translated dialogue that was immediately pulled out because it's still unedited although it's too late because the patch was already available on the internet. In any case, at least people can either chose to play it immediately or wait until Nekonyan did release it, in which there're some people who prefer to do the latter. Oh yes it has vampire with the MC turned out into vampire and must live in the resort island, and there's unique setting in that basically the vampire life was reversed in which the MC and the heroines will attend the school at night. Of course just like any other Yuzusoft VNs, expecting this as charage should be the best course of action. Yurirei - At first I immediately dismissed it because the graphic is not quite well polished and that the premise is sounds like GL couple of the week just like usual Liar-soft VNs. Turned out that it has more than that in which we'll going to see on how the couples will be developed, and that we also see on how Yuna's effort to help the couple will affect her positively even though she was at first was forced by the ghosts to do their bidding to match several girls. The original version here is partially voiced, although there's Full Chorus version in case you want to play Yurirei full voiced (Both version are already localized by Mangagamer). While all in all it's one of better GL VNs, back then people was also interested with on how it was released in Steam uncensored which telling on how lax and less random Steam when it come to the censorship back then. Eiyuu Senki - The writer of this VN is also the one who wrote Rance in the past, and it show in the story seeing that the end game story did resemble a certain arc in Kichikuou. Although even with the writer did write Rance, she (Yes the writer is female) did write it lighter in that the MC is pretty much a nice guy compared to Rance. Also while the battle was said to did resemble Sengoku Rance, actually Kichikuou is more fitting seeing that you only need to win once to take over the territory while in Sengoku did need several turn to take over the territory. As for the translation, it's quite hard to write up so long story short it was released for PS3 back at 2015 with the patch for PC version was immediately released (Minus the sex scenes obviously), then JAST did re-released this with the sex scenes available. For the premise, it's about the world with the famous people was became all female, and that you'll conquer the world with the help of them. There's also GOLD as well in which it's the improved version of this, and it's also just recently localized by JAST. I see that we start to get well known translated VNs at his month, and so that's all for my comment in regard of March 2012 releases. -
VN of the Month February 2012 - Shinigami no Testament ~menuet of epistula~
littleshogun commented on kivandopulus's blog entry in Vndbreview
Photo Kano - The VN with a focus on photography and it get the anime adaptation, and that's all for what I can remember. Shinigami no Testament - The 2nd VN from 3rdeye and also their last VN with single MC, because from their next VN up until Raillore their VNs will have dual MCs. Meikyuu - While I know some of Grisaia fans think that it's a sequel, I prefer to call it as fandisc because the contents here are also have heroines after stories in which it's the usual feature of the FD. You may say that the main route here is more than qualify to call this as sequel, although if we look at both of Akagoei and Sharin FD it shouldn't be surprising to see the FD tell the stories about the past of the important characters, and in this case the main route here did tell the story about Yuuji's past. At least Meikyuu here is quite a good fandisc for Kajitsu's fans as long as you didn't mind the cliffhanger that definitely set up by Frontwing thanks to their need of money so that fans can be hyped for eventual Rakuen release, and at least it's not as bad as back when it's still freshly released in that we didn't need to wait a year for the conclusion. I still say that Kajitsu is quite conclusive anyway, but at least Yuuji's past here is nice additional bonus for understanding his character in Kajitsu. By the way my roommate also like to play the opening of Meikyuu here. Hatsuyuki Sakura - Like Natsuyume, Niijima here did use 'yuki' (TL Notes: Yuki mean snow) as the indication for the season and in this case it's obviously winter in which as we know snow is always associate with the winter. Yes, Hatsuyuki here is the winter representation of Saga Planets Season series and out of those four it said that Hatsuyuki here is the best. My roomate here also like to play the opening of this as well, in which now that I remember it's about the time when Little Busters English patch (Minus EX contents obviously) was released. As for Niijima here while granted that Hatsuyuki did make him sort of famous, recently there's talk that both of his recent VNs (Einstein and Clarias) were not quite well written so perhaps he might be not quite capable to write sci-fi (Both of his recent VNs are have sci-fi element) and his capability is writing something like fairytale (Which Majokoi did emphasize it with Cinderella motive). Anyway as for Saga Planets here, we finally have one of their VN was translated by Nekonyan (Kirikoi/Kiniro Loveriche) and it'll be released at May later. Quite a nice month in regard of February 2012 here, and that's all for my comment in regard of this month. -
Demon Queen and the Seven Princes Review
littleshogun posted a blog entry in Pretty Cure on Fuwanovel
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and as for the title I'll explained it at PS later. For this week, I think it's less interesting seeing that there's no big release like Rance Quest although on the other hand we have Taisho x Alice Episode 3 release so perhaps it would be very interesting week for otome fans. Other than Taisho x Alice Episode 3 release, we have new project with the goal to translate Hokejo along with some updates from both fan translations (Some of those are quite big) and Sol Press. So overall this week is not too bad, or rather it's quite interesting if we look at the updates alone. Note that by the time I write this I know that both of Sekai and Nekonyan did their big updates (Nine Episode 4 release date announcement and Kirikoi trial release respectively) at the same day today, but I'll save the talking for next VNTS Review. Anyway let's see what I can write in regard of this week as well. For Sol Press updates (I admit that I did almost forget that Sol press have their updates at the month beginning), we currently have Sakura Celebration was in QA and Nukitashi was at 90% edited. No much to say other than perhaps we finally can have first translated Windmill VNs at this year and hopefully they finally can work on the rest of their licenses or at the very least have Irotoridori or Nukitashi released, although I know that it's asking too much of them right now. As for Cherry Kiss nukige (Conquer and Breed the Demon Queen), the premise is about an adventurer who somehow summoned the demon queen and he was supposed to making love with the queen until the queen pregnant as per title said in order to fulfill their contract. Go get the nukige if you want to see on how the MC do his best to fulfill the contract, and have fun. As usual Verdelish did good job with her progress on Slow Damage, and currently it's been at 80% translated. Speaking of Verdelish's work, we have Taisho x Alice Episode 3 release in which this time our female MC Alice will have the date with both of Snow White and Wizard. As for Episode 3 here while granted that the routes are still standalone to a degree, actually it also reveal the plot that already happened since Episode 1 and that it also have one more chapter called Epilogue in which it's tell the conclusion of the story, so perhaps you may wait for a while until the Epilogue released. Still if you want to play it immediately in order to date both of handsome Snow White and Wizard and can't wait for now, go get the VN on Steam and have fun. As promised I'll tell the updates on Chaos Head Noah, in which they reach three quarter milestone (At 75.80%) translated along with the common route was at 66.21% translated and that they already finished translating both of TIPS and true ending. Other than Noah's update, we also have the lines from original Summer Pockets was at 66.3% reworked, and Eustia was reached 80% milestone (81.97%) TLC-ed with Licia's chapter was at 44.02% TLC-ed and side stories was past halfway (51.36%) TLC-ed. There's also Amayui patch release in which it did fully translated all of the dialogue that was released back at December. While normally it should be good for Amayui's fans seeing that the interface patch is more than enough to understand the gameplay, too bad that the patch didn't translate the sex scenes. While I know that I will skip the sex scenes when I play Amayui, I would prefer if I can chose to skip the sex scenes and read it later instead of unable to read the sex scenes because it's untranslated. At least you can still read the story of Amayui with the patch, but obviously it's still partially translated because of the untranslated sex scenes so keep that in mind before trying the patch. For Hokejo itself, the premise is that we have our MC as male school nurse that also work as the one who sent the lost soul and somehow also work together with the loli ghost that serve as the main and single heroine. From there we can see on how the MC will do his work oh how he'll try to help the soul to clear his regret while at the same time the MC get closer to several girls at his school. Other than the story, it's also interesting to note that Citrus here is the branch company of Navel and the writer (Nakahiro) here is also the one who wrote two of FAVORITE VNs (Hoshimemo and Astral Air), so it's understandable if the main heroine here is white haired mysterious loli in which it present at both of his FAVORITE VNs and Hokejo here. Anyway you can visit the translator website here, and currently it's been at past a quarter (26.5%) translated along with 0.4% edited. That's all for this week VNTS Review, and see you next week. PS - For the title since we have Cherry Kiss Games released their nukige with the title 'Conquer and Breed the Demon Queen' along with the release of Taisho x Alice Episode 3, I decided to make the title as 'Demon Queen and Seven Princes'. For more explanation while the Demon Queen part is very obvious, for the Seven Princes part it's from the number of heroes in Taisho x Alice in which it's seven. I know that not all of the heroes are princes in their fairy tale (Taisho x Alice heroes are based on the gender bender female characters in fairy tale), but since we have Kingdom hearts mentioned seven Disney heroines as Seven Princess of Hearts (With one of those aren't in Disney's film) I think it didn't matter much. For other reason, the title here is the variation of the title Disney version of Snow White (Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs) in which the Snow White here is also one of the hero in Taisho x Alice Episode 3. -
binary_flame made a Visual Novel Manager program
littleshogun replied to NowItsAngeTime's topic in Visual Novel Talk
I see that it's quite interesting program, although to be honest I rarely using this kind of program anyway. At least it should be good for anyone else who like to keep track on the playtime, because unlike video game there's no playtime listed in VNs save and the only one that has playtime listed was Eushully VNs. -
nora to oujo to noraneko heart any fully uncen version?
littleshogun replied to Captainkwakkie's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Well for translated version there's still no Noraneko uncensored yet because the sex scenes are still untranslated. That said if you're looking for something similar to Noraneko, perhaps you can either look up for Majikoi or Marco with the latter is all age VN in the first place so no need to worry about the censorship (Bonus point for having same developer). Both of those are still comedic VNs like Noraneko though, although if you're looking for the VN similar to Noraneko and yet a bit of serious perhaps you can try any of translated Yuzusoft VNs (Such as Sanoba Witch, Senren Banka, or Riddle Joker). -
What is a game's quality? Is it objective?
littleshogun replied to Soul Hunter's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Well it's quite subjective matter for sure, and I based that on the definition from Oxford dictionary in which the dinition is 'the definitó standard of something when it is compared to other things like it; how good or bad something is'. Of course each people would have different standard on which work that would be good or not, so yeah quaity here is quite a subjectibe matter to a degree. -
VN of the Month January 2012 - Maji de Watashi ni Koishinasai! S
littleshogun commented on kivandopulus's blog entry in Vndbreview
Not too much releases at this month I see, with the well known one are either fandisc or sequel. Dousei Loverable - Rather than sequel I would say that fandisc is more appropriate when it come to the status here. Like any fandisc, obviously it was for the fans to spent more time with their chosen heroine. Other than that, the main VN is still not fully translated as of now and it's longer than Fureraba fandisc (Which to be fair was called as mini fandisc so it's logical to be short). Sutadoru - Well the outfit are surely looking good on the heroines, and that it's quite obvious that it'll be a nukige from the opening alone. Other than that, it has some strategy gameplay and that the sex scenes might be more hardcore than it looks. Majikoi S - Well it should be good for Majikoi fans in that they can see more of five Majikoi heroines and that Minato-soft did add five more heroines in here, so we have ten heroines. Although in the end, I still say that it's fandisc anyway and to me fandisc here is just the addition to the main game in which it's just additional contents. This is not like Grisaia in which I did say that I treat both of Meikyuu and Rakuen as fandisc, but rather this is based on Minato-soft confession in that at first they develop this as fandisc only to decided to upped the status to sequel, so yes I did treat it as fandisc based on the initial development. In any case, at least it got some nice story along with many new heroines that surely would appeal Majikoi's fans. For more trivia back when Majikoi (The main VN) was still stuck at 'Miyako 85% translated' the progress for S here is going steady so much that people did hope to have it released, only to be delayed for a while in favor of finishing the original. Oh well, at least now we have both of this and main VN to be translated. Bunny Black 2 - Since I did say that I treat S as fandisc, I understand if people did treat this as fandisc as well because technically Bunny Black ending was quite satisfying. That said Softhouse Chara here did improve the control in which now you can control some of your party members unlike the first one in which you can't even control the other party members, but of course in order to directly control the other party members there's some requirement. That said even with direct control the early game here is still quite hard if you didn't know what you should do, and it would be still challenging even if you know what you should do. The reduced party member here didn't help at all (You can bring nine party members while in here you can only bring six party members), but at least Darx here still can carry the party by himself to a degree. By the way it's also translated as well, and of course Aroduc is the one who did the translation. That's all for what I can comment in regard of January 2012 here.
