Rarely, but still true. Also, I just finished Nodame Cantabile, so I've been listening to it a lot more than usual for the last few days, though in a somewhat unusual way. Next person clicked this link and learned about the importance of water to public health: http://www.who.int/mediacentre/factsheets/fs391/en/

True story: when Noire was first being introduced in cutscenes, I kept wondering ,"Why does everybody like this one so much? IF is both cuter and more likeable." Then she joined my party, and I set her to leader. Then I started running, and realized, "Oh, that's why they like her". Regardless, IF is still best girl from where I'm standing, but I'm still only in chapter 2 with 4 party members.

What Video Games Are You Playing Right Now?
Fred the Barber replied to solidbatman's topic in Gaming Talk
Nice. I liked Xillia 2 better than Xillia 1, but both were solid games. I saw a review that summed up Xillia 2 as "It's a Tales game / 10" - pretty accurate, in that if you generally like Tales games, you'll almost certainly like both of them (and if you don't generally like Tales games, well, you probably made a mistake there). -
Rest in peace, Terry Pratchett. His twitter account left me a little choked up today: https://twitter.com/terryandrob

Wow. I really liked Welcome to the N.H.K., and didn't feel any negative vibes from the ending at all. That anime was an odd experience for me, though, since although it was clearly a comedy, a lot of the content hit a little too close to home; it usually left me feeling more introspective than anything else, and I'm ordinarily not that prone to introspection...

Count me as "signed up" for the next cycle. Somehow I didn't notice the club even existed until this week, or I would've totally been on board for rewatching Madoka. Part of me doesn't want to offer a suggestion, so I can see something outside what I'd otherwise watch, but when I glanced over my shelves just now I saw a show I can't help but throw out there, so... My recommendation for a Comedy cycle: Working!! season 1

Does If My Heart Had Wings get any better?
Fred the Barber replied to Mugi's topic in Visual Novel Talk
I enjoyed the game enough to stick with it, but: 1) I'm into science-y things, so all the glider mechanics was interesting to me. If you find it long-winded/boring, then I imagine a lot of the game is going to be painful. 2) I got a lot of emotional satisfaction out of scenes like the first glider test flight. If neither of those is doing anything for you, it's probably not going to get any more enjoyable for you, and you may be better off dropping it. -
9/10 - cute and unique. It's a Yasogami High uniform, I'm certain, but it's unclear to me who the character is or what the gear she's wearing is (assuming that's a she)... perhaps a younger sibling of Labrys?

She's clearly running the long con on you. The "boyfriend" is all part of the setup - she'll have been "dumped" by him and be heartbroken in a month. You'll try to comfort her... and then the FBI swoops in. Confession: I probably enjoyed "Lie To Me" a bit too much.

Tea isn't my thing. False. Actually, tea is fine, but booze is better. Next person is a freeloader.

What Video Games Are You Playing Right Now?

Yeah, I don't get headaches or anything from it, but I also gain absolutely nothing from it. Even if I carefully tilt the device around until everything looks as normal as possible and in 3D, the end result is still just weird-looking, and I switch it back to plain 2D in a minute or two. -
That's less of a typo, and more of saying something completely different from what you intended.

Finished Nodame Cantabile. It was so good I can't even superlative. I was going to rate it a solid 9/10, but the last episode was too perfect, and endings are too important - so it's a 10/10. Now I'm stuck debating whether to go find some illegal way to watch the later seasons (since, ridiculously, they've never been licensed in the US, even by the abomination that is Crackle), or just calling it done. The ending was very high on the closure factor, so I'll probably move on to something new, but the temptation is very high...

5/10. Not a fan of the lighting, especially how it makes the eyes invisible. Eyes are the most important thing! Did KonoSora's censored jokes teach us nothing?

I don't even know. False, probably? I don't Dragon Ball (Goku is a Dragon Ball thing, right?). Next person wears corrective lenses.

Shave it. Done. Of course, once you go there, you can't really go back. Confession: That's how I roll.

Favorite Anime Voice Actors: Can be Subbed or Dubbed.
Fred the Barber replied to Meanpandabomba's topic in Anime/Manga Talk
So I don't know many Japanese voice actors, so favorite English voice actors: - Luci Christian. She has amazing range - Inaba in Kokoro Connect, Honey in Ouran High, Medusa in Soul Eater, the narrator in Ookami-san. She is excellent in all of those, and they all sound completely different. She's one of the few voice actors who I hear a lot, and recognize those voices a lot, but I still get surprised to see her name in the credits. Oddly, though I love the Clannad dub, her role as Nagisa there isn't my favorite... but she's amazing. - Brittney Karbowski. Just an intensely likable voice. I especially like her as Ayu in Kanon and as Misaka in Railgun/Index, though she has many many many more roles (she seems to be Sentai's favorite these days, to which I have no objections whatsoever). Total opposite of Luci Christian in one way: the moment I hear her voice, I recognize it. - Andrew Love. You should watch Clannad dubbed just so you can see how amazingly he kills the role of Akio. Even if the rest of the dub were mediocre (and it's actually pretty good), he alone would make it a must-watch dub. - J Michael Tatum. Awesome as Okarin in Steins;Gate and Lawrence in Spice and Wolf. - Greg Ayres. Yes, I'm serious. Mostly because he's Sunohara. It took me a long time to get used to that voice, but once I did, it became oddly comforting and right. I like his role in many other shows as well, though I can't stand him as Masato in Little Busters... I do know approximately one Japanese voice actress that I really like, though she was already mentioned: Kana Ueda, mostly because I love MariMite (so much so that I went right back to S1E1 after finishing the show the first time). I'm debating taking my MariMite DVDs to Sakuracon next month to get her to autograph them -
Soul Eater is 50-ish episodes of solid fantasy action. Great dub, too, IMO. To be completely honest, I hated the last episode of it, but it's otherwise amazing. Alternatively, maybe give Fairy Tail a try. It goes on forever (maybe good or bad for you), it has a fair number of filler episodes (definitely a negative), and it has a lot of fanservice (again, maybe good or bad). Neither would be classified as comedy/drama emphasis, though both have minor comedy elements of course (I don't recall any real drama from either)

From having worked with survey results in a professional environment: 1) Surveys usually tell you more about how the survey was written than about what people want. 2) Surveys are inherently self-selected, and thus over-represent people who believe they are under-represented. 3) Even when you get past 1) and 2), surveys still only tell you about what people think they want, rather than what they actually want. Regardless, 8,000 responses is a pretty good sample size. Frankly, given the reputation MangaGamer seems to have (I have never looked at their catalog, so I have no idea what is in it, but just based on reputation...), given #2, people really think they want nukige. And so on. Had too much to drink to carry on this line of reasoning any further.

My favorite number is 6, but no favorite letter. False. Next person is all about roller coasters.
