@Jibril as Jun said, all of the things you mentioned are basically standard elements of Tales games for the past long while. I personally recommend Tales of Graces F especially (though the animation looks a little more cel-shaded, which may or may not be to your liking). Is it really "one of the worst"? I was rather enjoying my time with it, TBH, I just didn't get hooked enough before having to take a break, and then got distracted by other things. I'm still planning to go back, and looking forward to it.

All the advice is helpful, but I remain indecisive; I think it's mostly going to come down to random chance. Or maybe most realistically, I'll probably just land with Amane since she's going to proposition me first. I'm not actually sure myself. I can certainly say that editing has given me a lot more tunnel vision than I would normally have - usually my mental map of the game would include a broad view of the characters, a fair bit of interest in all of them, and a lot of indecisiveness about whose route to play next (see the above Grisaia discussion...), but instead I've been completely fixated on the characters whose routes I've been editing and not paying attention to the other characters. To some extent I almost get annoyed when I have to read scenes with them, since they're getting between me and what I need to do. Even among the characters I'm interested in but not editing, I largely can't remember their names But aside from that oddity, no, I don't think it's hurt my enjoyment. If anything I might be enjoying it more this way than if I were just playing it, because I get to see more of the effort put into the VN. I notice a lot more consistency across distant scenes, for instance, which I otherwise would probably miss.

Finished Senran Kagura Burst. Kind of at a loss for what to do now. Will probably shelve video games for a while (aside from weekend Destiny with my old roommate, which is a foregone conclusion) and play VNs with the reclaimed time instead. But either Tales of Zestiria or Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus might call to me...

True, it's enjoyable. I had some lavender ice cream once that was quite excellent when paired with the ginger molasses cookies I happened to have around. Next person secretly wants to learn to play the drums.

Well, I know you're Tay, and I know I'm not Tay, so half seems about right.

My juggling stuff arrived a couple weeks back and I've been practicing daily. I'm working my way up to Reverse Cascade at the moment, and I was practicing Juggler's Tennis a couple days ago (which I can usually do four or five cycles of before I overthrow something badly), and then while playing around started doing Half-Shower, which turns out to be pretty easy for me and looks kind of cool. Hooray new things! I also remembered while playing around that I used to dabble in contact juggling, and the balls I got actually aren't bad for that. So I might have to start practicing that up as well.

Can confirm anime conventions are a decent place to talk about VNs, although even there most of the people won't know what you're talking about, or often will have certain preconceptions about "porn games". Additionally, MangaGamer representatives, if present on the show floor, will do their best to reinforce the aforementioned preconceptions.

I associate the Spice and Wolf anime (only the anime) with the initial layout of furniture in my apartment, when it was rather barren, before I got almost all of the furniture I currently have. Also, Aaron, you should know that I'm eating pasta with homemade Bolognese sauce right now, and it's pretty great. Fortunately I'm not also listening to LeAnn Rimes.

Oddly specific. I like it! I remembered another one, after Flutterz extracted the general pattern: Gnomeregan and Fall Out Boy's first (popular) album, completely entertwined. I haven't played WoW in years, but if I ever listen to that album, my mind immediately starts conjuring up images of that dungeon. I never even listened to music when I used to play WoW, but I think I might have had a conversation with a college roommate about Fall Out Boy while watching him play? I dunno, but it's a really strong association, still kicking around a decade after it was born.

My guess is that we all misunderstood what was in the $20 backer bundle. They never said specifically that that price point would be for the "Deluxe Version" rather than the CG- and sound mode-less version. So... yeah, it kind of went up?

I noticed I have a lot of these. The one that just popped into my head (and I could not possibly guess why I remembered it): I played SaGa Frontier and read Othello around the same time, so Emelia and Emilia mixed in my head, and now whenever I see a performance of Othello and Iago's dumpy wife isn't cast as a well-endowed blond woman, I find it vaguely unsettling. My brain is weird; yours probably is, too. What weird mental associations do you have?

I think this is the first time I've ever watched a show while it's airing, but I decided I needed more comedy, so I picked up Sakamoto Desu Ga on the strength of Aaron's recommendation. I watched all five available episodes while making dinner; it's pretty solid so far. I kind of want it to develop a side character or two, since I'm not sure how long Sakamoto himself can hold the fort. I rather like both Aina and Hayabusa, but I have a feeling none of the current side cast is going to amount to much because Sakamoto is too awesome to share the stage with anyone.
