I think someone in 4chan insult me and how I do my translation, but that is ok. I'm still virgin you know. T^T Yeah, I make a lot of progress by use machine translator, that just the half of the truth. I can translate without use them too but that quadruple the time I use to translate one line. Well, they have right to complain about that. BTW, TL progress is 32% at this moment PS. I can do it slower if you guys want, that isn't my problem.

It seems like project will success or fail depends on translator(s) status, mostly. If the last translator drop out or MIA and leader can't find another translator in time, that project will fail for sure. Another role can find a replacement easier than translator A few tip for newbie translator - Ignore the grammar : Especially when you didn't skill with English, it causes less stress and can do it faster too, make you burned out slower. It is an editor's job to make your engrish into English. - Check your schedule : Translating VN is time consuming progress. 1-2 hours per day is the idea schedule for translator to translate VN. - Don't lazy : Try to translate at least a small number of lines that you are comfortable with everyday, it's maybe slow but slow progress is still a progress. - Stay in contact : It's important to keep you and your team a high morale, make you burned out slower and sometime can make you more motivate. This also lets team leader know that you aren't MIA. - Keep update your progress : It helps your team morale as they see the progress is up and not stall.

I use to apply to translate Koisuru Otome to Shugo no Tate but they shoot me down on spot because of my engrish. It's too bad that they drop them. Right now I'm translating Koiken Otome, same writer as Koisuru Otome to Shugo no Tate.

Koisuru Otome to Shugo no Tate is droped, only Yukino and Ren are translated, it should be patch lie around some where. Akatsuki no Goei is dead too https://fuwanovel.net/novels/akatsuki-no-goei there is a lot of VN in this type too VNDB

With my real life work, upcoming test I have and my work as translator I don't know how I able to manage to do them all without collapse from overwork due to my health problem I able to do around 100+ lines a day in normal condition but with my upcoming test I can't TL at that rate right now. After I finish my test I could able to do it more. if I have a lot of free time (which I don't have right now because the games I want to play are out) I can TL about 150 lines a day on weekday (4 hours at relax pace) and 400+ at weekend now (8-12 hours at kamikaze pace) BTW, about prologue patch, ETA is still unknown because we lack of TLC

Agree. 50 H-scenes aren't easy to TL too and story-related H-scene is harder too.

You should try Grisaia no Kajitsu. It just out a little while ago G-senjou no Maou and Sharin no Kuni are good and quite long too.

An update: I should finish TL Akane's H-scene this weekend ,her H-scene is around 1558 lines (20.49% of her route) and ~ 360 lines left. Another translator is TL Touko's route, it around 5001/6470 lines (77.30%) Editing prologue is slow because we lack active TLC to check and my very very bad engrish cause the problem too, please blame Defendos for this. It's 3265/5083 lines edited (64.23%) but no QC BTW, 28.52% TLed at this moment.(and still counting) And I think I will TL their FD too if it out but I don't know anybody else in group will agree to me We still recruit more TL and TLC, If you want to help you can go to http://flyingpantsu.net/koiken-otome or contact us at #Pantsu-VN

I don't have any problem with H-scene as reader (as I usually skip them). But as a translator, it's pain in the butt and hard to do in various ways.

I study some Art of Wars and I found something interesting. "Winner find their object first then fight, Loser fight first then find their object." In life we always have things that "Can't control" and "Can control". You have to know what you "must" to do "have" to do and "want" to do, that way you can plan how your life could be. You need to live with thing you can't control, do your best with thing you can control, and don't regret when it fail. You still learn from the failure and improve yourself so you don't repeat the same mistake. "Past is past, nobody can change that." As I read your post, I see that you still regret about what you did and didn't in the past. But your experience is useful for another. I think group leader's job is to give direction for the project, not to lead another people around, everybody are the leader of their own life. I am not a good leader either, I'm good at "give" decision not "make" decision. but when I have to, I will do it with the best I can so I don't regret it later. Sorry for my bad English

And I always check that in spread sheet or IRC everyday. My mottoes for this : "Right tool for a right job" "If it cans do something, it isn't useless"

And you can always ask translator or translate checker if you need re-translate some line.

It is hard to answer that question, but that isn't uncommon. If you keep interesting that game long enough to finish FTL those game, I think it OK not to play that game. My project leaders are as same as you Time, resource and Man power are the things you need to do something when something increase, another has to decrease. nothing is free, even free food isn't free too (you have to get it yourself)
