Though I have to say that her exploding in the middle of a h-scene would be the most hilarious bad end I've ever seen.
-
I can understand the fruit VN, since it's just a stupid thing put together by someone bored, but that other VN with the bomb-heroine actually looks like it had effort put into it... I might have to check it out.

How naive I was when I thought I could wiat with AsaGoei 2... already started reading. Read just the first few scenes, and it already seems more interesting than the first one - this'll be great! Also read Ayakashibito up until the very first choice. Not sure what to think of it yet, I might wait with it till I finish AkaGoei 2.

Finally finished AkaGoei. I have to say that the secret route made me really happy, as I got something I was hoping for the whole time. All in all, a 9/10 from me. I really enjoyed the VN - all the characters were really likeable, and while there were some slightly boring parts at times, there were a lot of highlights too. The MC was great and anything connected to him was fun to read--I am really looking forward to the sequel now! I just hope I'll be able to read it, that'd be quite the bummer. I was just wondering if it was worth it reading the fandisc? I've never read any since I'm not a fan of h-scenes, and as far as ym understanding goes, fandiscs are mainly for that and some other unimportant fanservice; but since this one is included in the trilogy, is there anything interesting on it? Anyway, I think I'll read Ayakashibito next, finally reading something in english again should be a nice change of pace. That, or continue Grisaia no Meikyuu.... decisions, decisions.
-
I want to start that too, but still finishing up AkaGoei (oh my god, Moe's name is so justified. Love her route so far ). And once I do that, I'm afraid I might be too hyped for the sequel to pick up Ayashibito...and I have Grisaia no Meikyuu started too... agh.

I generally dislike h-scenes and want them to be over as fast as possible, but I've enjoyed some of them in Kyonyuu Fantasy. The first one specifically was fun, probably mainly because of the story context it had. Well, there were some I've disliked quite a bit already too. toosquishylol I'd agree with this, Grisaia's h-scenes might've been the first oones I've properly read and somewhat liked. Mainly Makina's, because they were hilarious - especially that second one, that was just too good.

Ah, so I have to change the whole system locale? Well, that sucks... Thanks for the help, though.
-
I'm using Locale Emulator. I'm assuming that's the problem. However, I don't have that font in the selection, only MS PGothic - which I thought was the same thing, but apparently not?
-
Does anyone have weird text issues like this - http://puu.sh/7SoL4.jpg ? There also are random yen signs in the first line. Is my font wrong (MS PGothic)?
-
Downloading the japanese torrent as well, I'm really curious about this one. I was thinking of picking up Evolimit, but now that this is translated, I guess this'll be my first Propeller VN. Just the fact that the MC is voiced makes me incredibly excited.

Oh, so Moe's route has an unlockable part? Did I unlock something without even knowing I did?
-
Finished Reika's route in AkaGoei - that was some great stuff! Only Moe's route left now-- this had better be good, I was looking forward to her the whole time, as she isn't even in the common route much. And with so many CGs still missing... I'm curious. I still find it strange how a VN like this doesn't seem to have a true unlockable route, in this case what I would've assumed to be Reika's. I guess I'm just used to that system too much, but hers makes the most sense story-wise.
-
I'd also recommend Saya no Uta. It's dark and the romance is great.
-
Hm, I guess it's a very similar level yeah - the NVL parts in Senshinkan gave me the most trouble from what I've read of it. Thanks, I'll stick to easier stuff like AkaGoei for now and check again later.

Is Dies Irae as difficult to read as Hachimyoujin?
-
I love how she starts off as a polite maid and by the end of the story she's spouting obscenities left and right. Both her and Makina get influenced by Yuuji in all the bad ways - though that was what I really liked about Grisaia, the characters change even throughout the common route.

Finished Aya's route in AkaGoei earlier today, and I've really liked it. Sure, it didn't have much in terms of story, but it definitely made up for that in the humour department. I've laughed out loud several times while reading that route, that was some amazing stuff. Son turned into a surprisingly awesome comic relief character. Also playing some more of Meikyuu at the moment. At 53% of Amane's route, according to the VN. If there's anything they've accomplished so far, it's showing just how (small Grisaia no Kajitsu spoiler related to Amane) But there were some sweet moments too, and the trademark awesome Grisaia humour is there too. Just wait for those bad ends, those were by far my favourite thing about the VN - though on the other hand, the unfair system and nearly impossible true end wasn't exactly a good thing. I'm really looking forward to the second one.

Yeah, as Nyanko said, those are the ones you've most likely heard about already, you won't really find anything else, unless you can read Japanese. Kara no Shoujo, or maybe even 999 and Virtue's Last Reward weren't mentioned here yet, but again, you've most likely heard of them already. You could also try Corpse Party if you're looking for the gore kind of dark..
-
What? This... this scares me. EDIT: Just got to the sleep-talking part. Oh god you were right! Nooo! :D
-
On Aya's route in AkaGoei right now, probably still at the beginning. Even though this seems like it will be nothing but a comedy slice-of-life thing, I have to say that smashing Son's face into the dinner plate was the most hilarious and satisfying thing in the entire VN so far. Props to his seiyuu, those groans and weird noises are killing me. :D Take it slow and enjoy all the content and choices, you won't really find that in any other translated visual novel.
-
I've decided to read a bit of Meikyuu to see how my Japanese is advancing, and I've been able to read the first third of Amane's route without any serious trouble, surprisingly enough. As for the actual contents, though... what the hell was that? Not sure if I even want to read these routes, since Amane's one is doing a pretty good job at making me dislike her character instead of enjoying the bonus content :x

Muv-Luv Alternate Done Semi-Rant MindBOOM[Spoilers]
Vokoca replied to SkyKing's topic in Visual Novel Talk
The whole last act seemed like a huge cop-out to me. Just when the story had an opportunity to get much better, the writer(s?) suddenly seemed to realize that perhaps it was going on for too long and decided to cut it short - explain things in the most convenient and easy way possible, destroy and kill anything that could lead into more story, and then end things off with pretty much undoing the whole VN. Also, I know I'm probably the only one and absolutely crazy, but I liked Sumika more than anyone else in the cast. Even more than Meiya, whose manner of speech and voice annoyed me to no end for some reason. So I liked MLA a lot... before the ending. :x -
Really? I always try to read all the routes so I can give the VN an appropriate rating - Muv Luv was the only VN so far where I couldn't push myself to do that, just because the characters were mostly unlikeable to me. But since Aya seems reasonably cute so far and I like her seiyuu, I think I should be able to manage. If it gets really bad, I'll follow your advice and skip. I'll do hers first after all, just so I leave the better ones for last. Also, you and Bolverk are getting me really hyped for Eustia... I'll probably have to read that after the second AkaGoei.

Just finished Tae's route in AkaGoei. Funny thing was that just when I thought it was going to end, it actually sort of began instead. I ended up liking it more than I thought I would've, since I was just thinking of Tae as some side-character I would need to get through ASAP to get to the good bits instead. Glad it wasn't like that. I was going to do Aya's route next, but since I already have a save on Reika's, I might just as well do that one first instead.
