Any VNs dealing with memories, memory loss, meaning of memories?
Vokoca replied to K450's topic in Recommendations
Kanon touches on the theme of memories, and so does Hoshizora no Memorie, but they never really go to deep into it, especially the former. As for untranslated VNs, there's Disorder6, starring an amnesiac protagonist and a main heroine with a serious case of DID. The VN is like an offshoot of the X;Y series, so it delves into the problem a bit. -
Object problems with Danganronpa on PPSSPP
Vokoca replied to Mastermind's topic in Voluntary Tech Support
Oh duh, I completely mistook that with the problem where you can't click any objects at all. Changing the rendering resolution is the only other thing I can think of - is it set to 1x? If the android version even allows you to do this, that is.- 4 replies

Playing tiny bits of Dark Souls 2 here and there, though I feel like I'm going with the wrong build. The club sure is great when you hit stuff with it, but it also seems to make everything unnecessarily hard and frustrating due to the almost non-existent mobility. I almost feel like starting a new character. Other than that, might jump back into Neptune Re;Birth 2 some more over the weekend. I still can't get over the fact that Pururut isn't even a DLC this time... she'd better be hidden in the game somewhere or I'll go pay Compile Heart a visit when I go to Japan this summer. D: Drakengard 3 is a prequel, so you don't really need to know anything. I've jumped in after playing nothing but Nier, and I was fine, it didn't really rely on the knowledge of the other titles. The most you'll miss are some references. Though starting with Drakengard 1 can't hurt - I did hear the second one isn't any good when compared to the first one, though.

What's the avatar above you thinking?

This is all that's left of my waifu... -
It's a shame about the dub, I had some hopes for it since I've really liked the Nier one, even more than the Japanese original (never thought I would write this, I usually hate dubs of any and all kind), but at least there's that original VA DLC, I hear. The gameplay isn't anything to write home about, sure; but then again, all Cavia games are like that. The story is where it's at, and the OST is just pure love. <3 Just play it for the story and you should be satisfied-- not that the story feels fulfilling, it does the exact opposite.

Is it possible to text-hook a PS2 emulator?
Vokoca replied to Vokoca's topic in Voluntary Tech Support
I see. That clears things up, thanks. I suppose we can just rule this out then, I doubt there is someone with so much free time (and knowledge) to do something this specific. -
Jeez, that engine is a mess. This would explain why Kimi ga Nozomu Eien likes to crash every 10-15 minutes without even bothering to tell you what actually happened. As for Muv Luv though, I've gone through both MLE/U and MLA on my older Win8 laptop without a problem. Haven't tried on my newer machine with 8.1 though... maybe the update is the problem?
-
I'm not sure if this belongs here since it's more of a question than a problem, but I was wondering, did anyone ever attempt text-hooking a PS2 game running through an emulator? I've always assumed you can't, but then again, I have absolutely no clue how this all works.

Object problems with Danganronpa on PPSSPP
Vokoca replied to Mastermind's topic in Voluntary Tech Support
Make sure to enable the "Read Framebuffers to Memory (CPU)" option in the settings, that should fix the problem.- 4 replies

Did you make sure to stop uploading the torrent and delete it? Weirdly enough, that helps at times.

I've only played Persona 3 and 4, but I've loved them. Anxiously awaiting the winter release of P5.

To you guys with Drakengard 3, how's the translation/dub? I'm not going to pick it up again since I got the japanese one on release, but I'm pretty curious. The english trailer sounded horrendous, to be honest. That said, enjoy the great story and the awesome soundtrack. Oh, and get ready to get trolled.... really hard.

Read a little bit further today, specifically the first battle in chapter 2. I like how they throw away all the cliches you'd expect from regular (I hesitate to call them shounen, but it approaches that in many cases) encounters and take a more realistic approach. And well, the writing is awesome, even if it takes me forever. And walkthroughs? No, I completely avoid these - finding out how exactly the VN works and how the routes are laid out is one of the things I enjoy finding out myself - I am really curious how the structure works in Muramasa for example, and that makes it even more exciting - not to mention I'd be pretty much asking to get myself spoiled. It's enough that I've accidentally seen the second OP already. EDIT:

Just finished the first chapter. Oh damn... I knew where it was going as soon as the scene started, but there was still a part of me that thought they wouldn't go that far. But they did... sasuga Nitro+. Minato will be an interesting character to follow, I'm really curious what that's going to be like. I'm liking the VN so far-- and dat OP! I can see it going into my favorites already.

I've been using this a lot too, but this doesn't work every time. For example, Ayakashibito doesn't work properly with Locale Emulator. That, and installing japanese VNs can be a pain, since you need to launch the setup directly with the emulator - which isn't possible with all installations either; some make you go through a launcher first, in which case the emulator is no longer active for the setup, turning it unusable. So yeah, while it does work most of the time, setting the locale globally just saves you all the trouble.

Middle: AND THE FINALE: Yumiko's route is really special. You made my day with this post. The part in the last spoiler bothered me the most--how bad does the writer have to be to do something that dumb? I at least enjoyed Yumiko's flashbacks part, even if that wasn't anything special either. Started 痕 ~ きずあと Continuing 村正 Muramasa (Chapter 2) Also reading Muramasa between finals, at the end (?) of chapter 1 myself.

[Grisaia no Kajitsu] - Amane reasons for (Spoilers)
Vokoca replied to AMMSY's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Yeah, I am pretty sure the guilt itself was the reason why she kept going, as a punishment of sorts. -
If I don't count the manga and games, the only things that could be considered 'otaku' in my room are chibi figures of Pururut and Neptune from the Neptune series.

Playing Dark Souls 2 when I have the time, which isn't much, so just about 30 hours in. Other than that, I keep randomly coming back to Drag-on Dragoon 3, replaying various missions. I blame that glorious OST. And I still haven't beaten that goddamn trollfest of a 'bossbattle' before the D 'ending', months after the release. Agh!

Oh god you really did it. Though to classify this, I think we'd completely new terms, considering the gender madness. And even if we do, what would futa x futa be? Yuri? Yaoi? ???? Also those mysterious tags.

Can't start My Girlfriend is the President (SOLVED)
Vokoca replied to Nagisa_Fawkes's topic in Voluntary Tech Support
I know I'm too late, but I've made a topic about this a long time ago - so just in case someone has the same problem, here's the solution to this kind of error. It applies to more VNs than just this one. -
I'm looking forward to this just because I want to hear Yuuji speak. That's all I want. And if they don't pick a badass enough seiyuu, the anime will fail just like that, I don't care how good the rest will be. You clearly didn't read Akatsuki no Goei, Kaito is even more badass than Yuuji is. In fact, it comes to the point where Kaito is perhaps too much badass... but it sure is awesome to read.

Hayase stole the show from Class Rep. (Spoilers)
Vokoca replied to crunchytaco's topic in Visual Novel Talk
They were so much better that I read Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien just because of them (well, Hayase, mainly). Or at least I tried to read it, but the VN crashes each 10 minutes or so. :x -
You can just load a save before the ending if I remember correctly - the 'true' ending just continues where the first one left off. If you mean the bad ending though, yeah, you have to go through the whole VN again. I've just now realized this was the VN I had in my backlog for quite some time. I was honestly interested in it just because of the whole protagonist thing (I'm curious how a story like that goes in a VN), but I'm glad to hear the VN is actually great. I think I'll read it next.
